I was struggling with calculus for a test. My tutor was excellent. We did in-person tutoring at the home.
Katie is absolutely phenomenal. She is everything anyone could ever want in a tutor. She is extremely knowledgeable and very clear with her instructions. She is understanding and compassionate when it comes to my lack of ability on the subject. She makes lessons fun and interesting. I cannot say enough good things about Katie. A+ !!
Brooklyn helped my son with general middle school math and English tutoring over the past year and she has been a pleasure to work with. She is always prepared and has a multi-faceted approach to tutoring, so when one technique for learning didn't work for my son she was able to teach it another way until he understood it. I would be comfortable with her tutoring him in any subject, as his grades have gone up and she has been a great mentor helping him to refocus on school and reach his full potential. Brooklyn also helped him prepare to take the PSAT and he received recognition for his scores from the Duke TIP talent search program. We have loved working with her and it has been worth every penny!
Had wrong phone number could never reach her that was the problem

Hello! I am interested in learning more about you and how I might be able to help you with your tutoring, editing, or writing needs. I am a writer, an academic, a student, and I have been a college instructor for over ten years and have graded a lot of essays. A lot! I have experience writing resumes, cover letters, helping people apply to internships, write personal statements, and I have edited and given advice and insight on a wide variety of college papers, from essays and book reports, to final papers and full dissertations. I have worked with authors on their manuscripts - first novels, poetry chapbooks, plays, scripts, you name it!, and I have helped people work through writers block and creativity challenges. I have also worked with nonprofits and government agencies to write grants, frame issues, and share my consulting and academic expertise in issues of sociology and urban studies, helping people put theory and research into practice. I love working with people who are striving to learn and to grow in life. I enjoy helping people practice new writing and thinking skills, and I am happy to share what I know and do all I can. Check out my profile, send me a message if you have any questions, and I would love to work with you. I do most of my work via the Internet but I know we can come up with a lot of engaging, personal, and creative ways to make sure your goals and needs are met. Thank you! Sincerely, Jenny

I am an eighteen-year-old Spanish speaker from Spain. I moved to the United States four years ago. I just graduated from high school. I have no official experience as a teacher; although my teachers, specifically Spanish teachers, would count on my help to teach other students. I love learning. Therefore, I love teaching what I learn. I am good with kids and animals. But I have the ability and education to also teach Spanish to adults. My AP Spanish literature teacher took me to a couple of his university classes in Chicago. I was able to get the students' attention and to help them understand the language. I am a native Spanish speaker. When I came here, I had to learn English myself. Thus, I had to make up a lot of small tricks to communicate and start learning the language. If you learn with me, I would force you to be bilingual. I really appreciate people who want to learn other languages. I believe that it is a great challenge to someone's mind.

I do mathematics tutoring for grades 9 -12. I am certified mathematics teacher, skilled at explaining the reasons behind the processes.
I became a tutor, because I love math and physics, and I love to teach. I have been teaching for over 10 years.
I am a retired high-school teacher with thirty six years of classroom instruction to my credit in the subject areas of Spanish, English as a second language, developmental/basic English, reading and writing. After my "first" retirement, I continued substitute teaching at all levels, k-12, and in all subject areas; including long term subbing in English literature and drama, going so far as to direct a number of plays in the absence of the "regular" teachers. As such, I am familiar and comfortable with teaching/tutoring outside of my areas of certification, with the exceptions of math and science.
I am a professional mathematics teaching and learning educator. I hold a PhD in curriculum and instruction, with a master's degree in literacy. My business is private for profit tutoring and learning. Specifically, this program specializes on the essentials of questioning and reading strategies and test taking strategies for mathematics, particularly pertaining to algebra. Past students of the program have had good success in overcoming math and test-taking anxieties, as well as have learned to become the masters of their problem solving skills.
I am a former nurse as well as a medical assistant. I graduated at the top of my classes and am available for tutoring in nursing, pharmacology, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
I also teach ACT, SAT, GRE, and TOEFL. In December, I completed my M.A. in English at The University of Southern California with a 4.0 grade point average, and I am currently a PhD student at USC in rhetoric, linguistics and composition. I recently received my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification with an exceptional distinction in Florence, Italy. In the winter semester of 2010, I was a teaching assistant for USC graduate English Professors John Carlos Rowe, and Gabrielle Pina. Additionally, IÂ have taught SAT, GRE and TOEFL preparation with incredible success. These qualifications have led to job offers from three nationally recognized tutoring companies which I have rejected for two reasons: (I) I believe the pedagogical methods these companies advance to be inferior to those IÂ have practiced with marked success; (II) I see employment through these companies as financially senseless for my students and for me. My tutoring is about results. I train students to break down the study of English into its constituent parts and attack them systematically. This methodology has been particularly effective in teaching test-taking strategies. I know these tests comprehensively. I know how theyÂre developed, who writes them, how misdirection is built into their designs and how to avoid it. I know, for example, that the first question on both the SAT and GRE computer adaptive tests (CAT) is the primary score determinant, as it positions a test-taker within a mathematical range that is increasingly difficult to alter with each subsequent question. Further, IÂve developed systems for vocabulary expansion that have proven far superior to methods advanced by Kaplan and The Princeton Review. Strategic, results-oriented tutoring leads to English and test-taking mastery. Students struggling with English often simply need a fresh approach. This is precisely what I offer. I blend patience and compassion with high expectations for my students and myself. I am skilled at helping non-native speakers and beginning students achieve proficiency; and equally capable of taking honors-level students to the distinguished ranks of scholarship and publication. I am happy to provide a list of recommendations, resume, CV, and a list of publications on your request. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Shane Michael Kraus
