On 12-17-15, the Employees' Union of the State Bar of California hired Chef Marcel for our Holiday Luncheon. Chef Marcel and his staff came on time, set up quickly, and were very professional. The food was delicious and they were able to serve over 100 employees in less than an hour, and clean up and pack up quickly. Our luncheon was a huge success! I have received nothing but positive comments from my Union members. I highly recommend Chef Marcel and we will definitely use his services again! Thank you, Lita Abella, President Employees' Union of the State Bar of California

I hired Haute Productions for a private cooking class for a bachelor party event, and we had the best time. Keith was an awesome teacher and host, he made the experience wonderful. Everyone had a blast and it was the best part of the entire weekend. Not to mention the fact that the food was awesome! I would highly recommend using Haute Productions for any event you may have.

"I have been trying to get Ed Masciana to teach for ages so that I can take his classes. He is a marvelous cook (chef), teacher, who in addition to knowing Italian food and cooking techniques, has an extensive knowledge of other cuisines---American, French--and the chemistry of food/cooking. I was lucky enough to have Ed teach me the essentials of stock making---fish, chicken, beef and then, how to use the results to make marvelous (the best I ever had and not the usual tomato heavy) cioppino. This lesson taught me how incorporating home made stock elevated whatever soups, braises, etc I would attempt. He also showed me sautéing techniques, imparting a thoughtful approach to sautéing vegetables (and meat/fish as well) based on their density and structure. (I'm still learning, but this was an invaluable lesson.) Ed is a great teacher. He is easy to learn from. He's considerate, imparts skills naturally, with a good sense of humor, so one learns without feeling intimidated. As far as the "being on time" question, that does not even come into play. He's a real teacher with professional standards. He's there to teach when this is called for.

Shelly not only makes vegan cooking simple and delicious, she provides the tools and tricks you need to prepare meals for your family! She teaches with love and passion and educates the public about plant-based nutrition and provides the info you need to make the switch from omnivore to vegan or enhance your current vegan lifestyle. I have been vegetarian for 20+ years and vegan for 9 years and I learned so much from Shelly just from one class! I can’t wait to learn more, as she has so much to offer and an entire cook book worth of recipes in her head to impress any chef!

I've worked with Diane as both a journalist and an educational collaborator for more than five years. We've taught classes together, shared ideas and journalistic by-lines. I enjoy visiting her blog, The Family Farm Box for seasonal culinary inspiration. We regularly reprint her FFB recipes on EatSomethingSexy.com as our Recipe of the Week and they are always well-received by our readers.

My husband and I practice a vegan diet. We both love Vegan Paella which is hard to find in vegetarian and Spanish restaurants here and abroad. When I found out that Sabrina combines both Vegan and Spanish Cuisines, I immediately scheduled a culinary class with her. Prior to her arrival we discussed what type of rice, vegetables and spices I should have on hand. Sabrina accompanied me to the Spanish store to purchase the Paella pan as well. Within the first few minutes of ingredients sautéing in the pan, my olfactory and visual senses were awakened with a jolt! The smell and look of the creation in progress got better as the prep continued. I wanted to taste a little bit quite often and had to sneak a spoon into the pan like a sleuth intruder. Sabrina was very patient answering all my questions and injected humor into the class. We laughed and it was a joyous experience all around. As she explained ‘It’s all in the Soffrito’. The Paella was the best I’ve ever eaten and feel confident that I can make it myself. I highly recommend Sabrina’s cooking class for anyone who has a hankering for Spanish food.

His knowledge was amazing. He was able to breakdown, in an easy to understand way, the science, and the art of cooking. What was also great was that he didn't just teach recipes, he taught the different principles of cooking and because of that I can create great, delicious dishes from scratch, not matter what I have in the fridge. My mind was blown when we covered salads. I didn't know there was another side of salads that made it more enticing and more high class. (see picture below) Overall, Chef Know-It-All is an amazing, artful chef that has the ability to make others fall in love with cooking. He's patient, insightful, and heavily invested in the student's progress and success. Every question I had, he answered. And every hurdle I had, he helped me get over it. Oh and did I mention it was fun! He taught me some flair tricks that the professionals use to make cooking fancy. Now I'm flipping sauces, cooking with big fires, and sprinkling flourishes left and right! I simply can't enough. 5 out of 5 stars for me.

I took 3 cooking classes with chef Karla in 2014 and they were all outanding. The 5 weeks Professional Pastry course were fantastic and very comprehensive. I have greatly improved my baking skills and have achieved consistent results from Chef Karla's good tips and correct techniques. The Appetizers and Truffles classes were also very good. Chef Karla is a very talented culinary and pastry chef. More importantly, she insures that all students have the hand-on experience and have fun while creating beautiful dishes.

Teresa took time to understand my needs and what I wanted to get out of my experience with her. She also spent a lot of time personalizing our day together and being thoughtful about how to schedule and plan it all out so that I got the most out of it. I learned a ton of tips since we went through the entire process, from picking out my ingredients through preparation. Teresa was willing to answer any question (no matter how silly) I had along the process and adjust to any changes I requested. Teresa is really knowledgable and experienced, as was evident throughout my time with her. I would 100%, no doubt, hire Teresa for many more cooking experiences/classes in the future. I definitely feel more confident in the kitchen after spending a day with her.

Laura is working for me as a chef and teacher for teens of all ages. She has an incredibly large class and manages delegating cooking responsibilities to each of them, deals with classroom management, teaches different cooking techniques, explains recipes and how to tweak them when necessary and creates incredible dishes with these teens. Each week the class size is different and she manages the change. The teens have fun with her as she is attentive engaging. She teaches kitchen safety and is super creative with the minimal kitchen equipment she has to work with at our synagogue. She brings and cooks healthy recipes as well as themed and cultural recipes. She not only teaches a teen cooking class but she leads special cooking activities for group retreats and incorporates the outside community that benefits others when she led a cooking class for teens and the local firemen. Laura is an artist and her art is cooking and teaching cooking to so many.

About

I have been inspired to enlighten other people to use food as a tool in order to improve upon their condition after experiencing my own health and wellness successes through this Cooking for Cancer approach. We have to take an active role in maintaining a healthy body, and that is what I firmly believe in. We can no longer afford to relinquish the responsibility for our health to the medical industry. To preserve and keep our body healthy is our duty. We can no longer keep on poisoning our bodies with foods that are loaded with preservatives and pesticides, which is why I now offer Cooking for Cancer classes because I believe in it, especially when our health is compromised. I follow the 80/20 rule -- 80% raw and 20% cooked, as well as 80% alkaline and 20% acidic food. In my cooking classes, I provide tips and guidelines on how to formulate and maintain a satisfying and healthy diet in a creative and simple way.
