About

Hi. I'm Lara, and I want to teach you how to play the piano. I believe that music is one of God's greatest gifts, and I aim to bring out the natural music that already exists in each of our hearts. (It's not cheesy, it's real, I promise!) Here's the coach difference: As a piano coach, it is my specialty to motivate and inspire you to be a great pianist along with the standard teaching of how to play the piano. Music is from the heart. It is passion, it is natural. Learning music is not about technique. It is about love. What does this mean? In almost all regards, we've gotten further away from the heart, and it seems it has become harder to tap into our nature with the demands of daily life. By focusing on the natural aspects of the music as opposed to the man-made elements (such as correct fingering, for example) we are able to avert the intimidation of facing the awe-inspiring allure of the 88 keys. This does not mean we ignore the technical aspects of playing by any means. It just means that it is not our primary focus. Together, we will set goals, work toward them, and accomplish your musical dreams. I will teach you the following: 1. How to read music. 2. Correct classical technique. 3. Music theory. 4. How to improve your listening skills. 5. How to channel your emotion into the music and really feel what you're playing. Along with, of course, standing by your side throughout your growth process and cheering you on throughout the way. Thumbtack has awarded me the Best of 2015 award for piano lessons! Thank you to all of my students (past, present and future) for your support and hard work that makes great things like this possible!

About

It's hard to find a piano teacher that isn't too strict or too easygoing, but Wesly put it together in the perfect combination. It was my first time taking piano lessons and Wesly made it a really great experience. He was extremely friendly, encouraging and made the experience of learning a skill so foreign to me a lot of fun. He is passionate about music and piano, which made me enjoy lessons that much more. I highly recommend his lessons!

About

My son took piano lessons with Danielle when she was in Irvine and we loved how she worked with him. She offered incentive programs (Mozart Money and sticker charts) and put together beautiful recitals. She has a great personality and is able to relate to young kids in a way that our previous piano teacher didn't. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a teacher for younger children.

About

I provide both in-home private piano lessons for your convenience and comfort, or you may take lessons at my studio located in Huntington Beach, CA. Each students will have their own individualized lesson plan where technique, theory, ear-training, and sight-reading will be taught. I received a diploma from the National Guild of Piano Teachers, a division of American College of Musicians, and graduated in the top 1%. I am a classically trained piano teacher, but I can teach in all genres of music. I also teach all ages groups, as well as students of all skill levels. I try to make the experience of the lessons as enjoyable and fun as possible, while still providing the student with what they need to learn. I do expect each student to practice, so there is progression. Nothing motivates a student more than when they can see themselves playing a song that they never thought they could play.

About

I loved taking voice and piano lessons with Belinda! She is definitely very knowledgable on voice and was able to help me improve on my vocal weaknesses. She also taught me to play piano and sing at the same time, which is something I love doing now!

About

William is a wonderful drum instructor, he seriously knows his stuff. He's really played all of the types of music I wanted to learn (rock, blues, jazz, etc.) as a professional performer, and he could demonstrate the parts from any song I brought to him that I wanted to learn! He's really worth it, and I would suggest lessons with him to any percussion student who wants to really improve and advance as a player. Not only can he perform well, he really has a way with words and can keep describing complex topics from different angles until I truly understand them. He never runs out of perspectives to look at things from! Give him a try and you wont regret it.

About

My name is Kevin Kao, and I'm a full-time professional piano teacher. I have a high-quality, up-to-date piano studio both in teaching method and environment (in a profession that's easy to become stagnant and settle into dated methods of teaching and habits) with students ranging from 5 years old to 60 years old. My ultimate goal in piano lessons is for my students to become well-rounded and confident individuals who are able to think critically, be sensitive to the world around them, and to love and appreciate classical musical for the rest of their lives. While my BM in piano performance from Cole Conservatory of Music compels me to upheld a high musical standard for my students, I'm never for the pain-and-fear piano teaching methods of the past. Students and parents say that I'm encouraging, patient, fun, and easygoing, yet strict on musical standards. Lastly, they say that I'm professional and passionate about music. At my studio, you are guaranteed quality teaching because of my master's degree from SDSU in piano performance along with completion of all the piano education classes (including child development as it relates specifically to piano lessons) and working personally with Dr. Mitzi Kolar (co-author of the Celebrate Piano Method books). Also, make sure to check out my answer on Thumbtack regarding my continued education in the field of piano education. To give students of my studio ample opportunities to be recognized and share their music, hard work, and accomplishments with each other, my studio holds two recitals every year along with four informal, student-only studio classes. Visit our studio website at and come join all the successful, confident and happy students at FreshStart Piano Studio.

About

Lee Ann is a personable piano teacher who gets results. My 6-year-old son started piano lessons with Ms Lee Ann in March, and he has made great progress. After four classes, he was note reading on the staff and could easily identify keys on the piano. Lee Ann teaches all the basic technique and also encourages musicality. She is strict but without being mean. She understands the different temperaments of my son and his sometimes frustrations with learning, and she is patient and knows how to handle complex situations. I highly recommend Lee Ann for piano!
