FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do a lot of research on weddngs, wedding planning, ceremonies, traditions. I view my competitors websites (as they do mine) to see what is most prevelent out there. I attend bridal and wedding fairs around northern California and visit some resorts to see what s offered and what trends are out there. My best source however, is my client. They seem to be "up" on what's in and what they are looking for. Bridal magazines provide little help but there is always something to learn.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Many years ago my mother wanted to renew her vows. We had a terrile time finding the right person to perform her ceremony. We interviewed several and none seemed to provide what she wanted. After searching further, we found a woman who fit our needs. After that my mother suggested I look into "marry-n" people since I was not shy and loved to work with people. Several years later, I started.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The majority of the ceremonies/services I provide are wedding ceremonies for younger couples. I have worked with many young couples and assisted with personalizing their ceremonies. Generally speaking, the next age group generally have ideas they come prepared with and we incorporate those ideas into their ceremonies. It's fascinating to see and learn some of the ideas presented to me. I also receive many requests for renewal of vows and anniversaries. Unity ceremonies are becoming more and more common and requested more frequently. All these take the "bulk" of my time. I also perform other services such as house blessings, empty nest, and rite of passage and eulogies.
