I have taken bass lessons from a handful of instructors over the years. Ariane is different. She has explained things to me that I have either never heard or never understood in new ways that help me to connect the dots. She makes the lessons fun and always challenges me and encourages me to stretch myself while giving me to the tools to do so. Do not hesitate to give hear a test drive.

at your level, and gets you playing music right away. She applies the study of theory to songs to give it real life meaning, and

Ariane is one of the best teachers (and people) I have had the pleasure of knowing. As a well versed, world renowned musician and master at her craft, she possesses a wealth of knowledge that she shares with her students of all ages and skill levels. She is great with kids. She offers flexible scheduling in Vallejo and Berkeley. She's always on time, gives me homework assignments or exercises to do at home; every session is fun and challenging. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to play with her and always try to make it to her shows to see her perform. Ariane gets an A+

Ariane is an amazing teacher. She's very kind and fun while also being informative and helpful. She's an outstanding teacher, a wonderful person, and I would recommend her to anybody; no matter where they are in the learning process.

Ariane is rare combination of a great player as well as a great teacher. She has mastery of a variety of styles, and can teach you what you want to learn. She organizes jam sessions with other musicians, and although I've never participated myself, this is a great service for jazz musicians look for people to play with.
