"Mary has been one of my best ballet teachers over the past 15 years. Most of her excellent qualities should cross over to teaching yoga. Mary is fun, energetic and positive in her interactions with students. She mixes her corrections with plenty of praise. The student feels Mary is collaborating with the student to achieve improvement. Mary isolates movements that need work and develops her own exercises separate from traditional ballet exercises. She outlines her goals in the exercises for individual students so the student can focus. She will say, for example, "Don't worry about your arms now. Reach with your feet. We'll get to your arms later." You will never regret working with Mary if you are so lucky. "

"I've met with a number of personal trainers, and it's exceedingly difficult to find someone that's friendly, knowledgeable, and organized. George is all of those things. I meet with him twice a week. He pushes me hard every single time. I highly recommend working with George."

"I recently was in the hospital for 2 months where I lost the use of the muscles in my entire body. Barely able to walk when I first met Mel, he literally brought me back to life. Way more than a personal trainer, he became one of my dearest friends and health advocates. After about 2 months training with Mel, where we started slow (i was only 92 pound) i was back up to 120 and doing TRX and BOXING with him. My recovery and life would not be the same if I didn't work with Mel. He is literally the best!!!!! "

"I had been toying with the idea of getting a trainer to help me get to the next level of my athletic ability. My wife set me up with Jay Queen of New Vision Fitness. My 1st, 2nd and current impression is that he is a true believer in the power of fitness and good diet to transform your ability to live life to the fullest. He is eager to help you get to that next level no matter your current fitness level. He can adapt quickly and effectively. Jay has been punctual and able to work around an adjustable schedule. His prices are quite fair and honest. (He gave me a refund when he felt that he did not need to monitor my diet! He had the money and just gave it back with no prompting. He is that honest. ) Jay is not doing this job for money. He is a trainer because he truly feels it is his mission to get people more active and healthy. If you are serious about getting more fit and active, look no further. You have found your trainer."

"I can honestly say that Beth Downey has single-handedly changed my views on working out, staying healthy, and has basically changed my life. I can honestly say that I'm in the best shape of my life and doing things I never thought possible. For years, I would join the gym, be excited for a few months and excercise faithfully. Then I would slow down, then quit altogether because I had no direction and routine was boring. Personal trainers were too expensive. I met Beth in the Fall of 2010 when I attended one of the free Gauntlet sessions offered by the local gym. After the second session, I joined the gym that day! This was my first experience with functional training, and I LOVED it immediately. For the next 2 years, I attended faithfully at least twice/week and sometimes up to 5 times in one week! That was the longest I'd ever stayed connected to a gym - ever! Beth's classes are addicting; they are fun, they provide a social atmosphere, and they are far from routine. Everyday is different, and there is never the same workout twice. Barbells, boxes, and sledgehammers aren't scary to me anymore; tires aren't just for tractors, they're made for flipping and provide a base for beating the sledgehammers. I can't find one bad thing about the Gauntlet's functional training methods ... Oh wait! Burpees, I still HATE them, but not enough to quit. And finally (yes, almost done), Beth is an AMAZING, AMAZING person. She is patient, and funny, and smart, and truly cares about the well-being of her clients - definitely not your stereotypical meathead trainer. She goes above and beyond what is necessary to make her clients happy. She 'tortured' us even when she's wasn't there. Yet, I still showed up for the best hour of my day! So if you're looking for a great trainer, therapist, and friend all in one, look no further than Functional Movement Therapy. You will NOT be disappointed! This will make you more healthy and make your life easier."
