Do not hesitate to call G B Construction for gutter cleaning and replacement and leaf guards. They are prompt, quick, thorough, friendly and professional. Their charges are reasonable, and they do not upsell. I understand that they also do tile and wood floors, painting and household moving. I will be using them again and again.

Pedros responded quickly and quoted me a fair price for interior house painting. Even with other changes needed when he arrived, the price didn't change, work quality was on point, completed quickly, and professionally written up. Definitely recommend!

I hired Jeff to install a new garbage disposal, and he did so quickly and for a good price. He also showed up on time, which was nice. I was impressed with his work, so I hired him for two additional jobs, to install a water pressure regulator and to fix a leak in a sprinkler line. Two of the jobs were at one house and one of the jobs was at a different house. I give him 5 stars for all three jobs, and I will use him again in the future for both plumbing and handyman work.

I would hire A Better Choice Painting again. I was in a time crunch and they stayed pretty late on the first day to get the job done in my dead line. I would haven given 5 stars but the estimator said they would pull the handful of screws nails out of the walls and putty before painting and they only puttied the holes and didn't remove anything. I would have removed the screws in the garage and little nails in the house if I knew they were just going to paint over them. The main reason I gave them 4 stars is because they left 3 stains on the carpet. One was from the bottom of their ladder that wasn't on a drop cloth and two look like they were brought in with shoes or something. I may not have noticed any of them if I had not had the carpets cleaned 24hrs earlier. I think both of my issues could he managed though. I didn't have much time to inspect their work.

Todd painted the outside of our house that had not been painted since built in 1975. It is a stucco finish that really sucked up the paint. Todd stuck to his bid even though more paint was needed than the typical house. Plus, he worked with us to decide the color that we love and have had many compliments on. Todd finished the job in the amount of time he estimated, a very quick couple of days. All in all, very thorough and professional. His experience really helped us understand the options and make good decisions.

Andrew and his son did an awesome job. Very professional and even protected my floors before starting the work in my house. He was nice enough to also make a trip for me to Home Depot for additional materials needed to complete the job. Thanks Andrew!

I recently used Shawn for my exterior and interior painting on a property I purchased as an investment. The house was a foreclosure so it was in very bad shape. There were millions holes through out the house. Some of the holes were very large and required lots of patching and re-texturizing. Shawn did an amazing job. What I like the most about Shawn is that he is very prompt and details oriented. I have no doubt that he was treating my house the same way he would treat his. My project was completed in a timely manner. The finished job was outstanding. While painting my house, Shawn was asked by my neighbors and other contractors that I had working on other projects at my house to paint their houses as well. I had to deal with many contractors for various projects before; so I understand how difficult it is to find one that you can count on. I am so glad I found Shawn because I know I can count on him. If you want your paint job done right, timely, and at an affordable price, go with Shawn. I am very satisfied with the paint job he done on both my interior and exterior. I plan on using him on all my future painting projects.

I’m very happy with Daryl. In just a few hours, he installed a light fixture, installed a curtain rod, and fixed several other things around the house. I am definitely going to ask him to do more work. I wish I had met him years ago.

I could not have been more impressed with Westworld Painting! Our entire experience was so great, it’s hard to know where to start. Chad, the owner, was a delight to work with. He was always on time and very professional. We appreciated the time he took to meet with us in the planning process. Chad has a lot of common sense and is very down-to-earth and kind. It was apparent from the start that he values his customers and wants them to be 100% happy with their work. He gave us helpful tips on how to pick a color we would love for the exterior of our house. He also came by on a Saturday to paint a couple samples on our house that I couldn’t decide between. In fact, we saw Chad numerous times from start to finish. He stayed in touch often through texts, phone calls and visits. Before the actual paint job, he brought his painter, Alfredo, to our house to go over everything. Alfredo was always so friendly and easy to talk to. I always felt safe while at home with him painting while my husband was at work. Alfredo was also always on time, and the one day they knew they would be a little late, they called to let us know. Alfredo always kept me in the loop of what he was going to be working on each day. He always explained things without me asking questions. I appreciated this. For example, one day they focused on finishing the back and one side of the house (Painting the body AND trim) instead of painting the entire body of the house first. He explained about the rising temperatures of the weather and how they don’t like to leave the tape on for a certain amount of time over a certain temperature. Again, quality work here... love it! The paint job was flawless and we are beyond happy with the attention to detail and how clean they kept everything too! All of our friends and neighbors are asking for our painter’s information because they love how our house has turned out. We’ve even had a couple people we didn’t know pull up to our house asking who painted it (that was before Chad put up his sign in our yard.) We had a few estimates from other painters and one thing that made Chad stand out was his attention to detail. The other estimates we had, the painters stated that they just pressure wash the house. Well, Westworld Painting takes it a step above pressure washing. They sand down the facia boards so that they know their paint will adhere to the wood better. They also filled in any cracks we had and painted the trim around our windows to wrap all the way around, instead of just the front of it like our previous paint job had. That made a huge difference in the look of our windows! Overall, it was a no brainer that we were going to go with Chad at Westworld Painting and we are so glad we did!

I hired DP painting back in June 2001 to paint my home. Their attention to detail and professionalism was far more than I ever anticipated from a painting company. They are very knowledgable about different paints and color schemes and take time prep as if they were painting their own homes My paint job still looks great today! Highly recommended

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
