We've tried 4 other dog trainers over the past 3 years. Eric was the only one to teach a technique that really works with our stubborn, male Frenchie. Mental exercise is they key to a well behaved dog! We highly recommend Eric!

My dog Lilly and I started in September with Dion. Each class was a learning experience. I am very pleased to say Lilly (golden-doodle) is a well mannered dog on leash and when people come over. Its a commitment for you and the dog. Real time training (park setting) is great as you and the dog experience the squirrels, other dogs, people and the every day sounds. As the issue of either the owner or the dog or both (LOL) arose Dion would correct you/dog. Dion is very accommodating. I reviewed all the dog trainers I could find. And am So pleased to have been able to choose the Right trainer for us. We can walk without issue. When Lilly wants to act up I (the leader) now know what I need to do. Thanks Dion for your dedication to better living of dog and human.

Pete was the third trainer I hired to work with our rescue dog and I literally feel like he saved our life with her. I was ready to give up! My dog was out of control, testy, aggressive with other dogs and afraid of bikes of all things. Pete has made it possible for me to have peaceful walks and a very well behaved dog. As an added bonus, he comes to our house so all of her training happens in the environment she is in regularly rather than some training center. I would recommend Pete to anyone who wants a well trained dog and a better understanding of their dog's mind.

Chris knows his stuff! If you need help with training your dog he's the one to go to! We had our pup stay with Chris and when he came back to our house he was a model dog! It was pretty amazing that what Chris taught him didn't go away when he left Chris' home - it stuck with our pup back at our house. We definitely recommend Chris!

We adopted Chappy last year thinking that he was just a little on the shy side. But just days after bringing him home he started snapping and growling at visitors, and avoiding us. Thankfully we found Scott. He really took the time to help us understand our dog's behavior and how we could effectively influence it in a positive way. He showed us the little changes we could make to help Chappy feel more comfortable in our home and with strangers. Within weeks his aggression was gone and if you met him today you’d never guess that our happy, playful dog was ever fearful or aggressive. We’d recommend Scott to anyone looking for dog training and can’t imagine where we’d be without his help.

Allison was able to take my dog Lady from being totally aggressive with other dogs, to being... fine. In an afternoon. I had never seen anything like it from Lady. My mind was blown. She gave me tips on how to keep her that way outside of training, too, which was just as valuable.

My adopted 2 1/2 year old American Bulldog (Lila) was difficult on leash and was showing signs of being dog aggressive/selective. With Lance's guidance/training I now know what to do if she pulls on leash (which is becoming less and less each day). She also knows her basic commands (sit, stay and come). As for dog aggression/selection Lance worked with her for about a hour and she is leaps and bounds better. I now know what to do for dog meet and greets and how to handle the situation if she is showing aggression. Thanks Lance!

Our Thumtack contact was a very knowledgeable and confident trainer names Andi Nault. She was not dissuaded by my very active Rhodesian Ridgeback who loves people and any dog withing eye view. She worked patiently with us, gave us some new tools to use with Penny and lots of encouragement. She offered doggy daycare which I thought might be useful and it was. Penny learned to read the cues of the other dogs that didn't want to roughhouse. Andi was very good with Penny, consistent, confident, reassuring and had other options to offer us if we wanted them but no pressure. She recommended Boarding facilities we had no knowledge of, other trainers, behavioral specialists, hour long dogie play time, etc. I highly recommend Andi Nault for whatever dog behavior you want to address.

Helena was an amazing dog trainer both for our rescue dog Woodrow, and for us. Her training was multi-faceted in that she trained us as much as she trained our dog. Woodrow is a rescue, and we called Helena after he developed a rather nasty biting habit. We were desperate to get help immediately, and unlike other companies in the area, Helena called us back immediately, and like us, took the issue of our aggressive dog very seriously. When other companies believed that it was "just a phase" or that a muzzle or a shock collar would be the best course of action, Helena respectfully disagreed. She proved that aggressive dogs can and will respond well to positive reinforcement and behavior modification through intense but rewarding training techniques. When we "interviewed" Helena, she met us at our house for a 90-minute consultation. She provided us with printed handouts on aggression as well as some initial training techniques to begin. We decided to go with her, which was a life-changing decision for our dog; Woodrow has improved drastically since Helena has worked with him. When we first had Woodrow, he could not be within 20 feet of a stranger without barking or growling, and now, his "bubble" has been greatly reduced. During our 8-weeks with Helena, we worked on a doorbell training routine, practiced how to be around other dogs on walks, learned what to do if a stranger approaches us on a walk, how to manage off-leash dogs, and even how to navigate when someone hugs me (he is protective, too!). She came to our house/nearby park always, which was so important as my husband and I both work full time. She was flexible with our schedules and made herself available based on our availability. Finally, her rates are very manageable and fair. It's easy to see that Helena is not concerned with gouging our paychecks for her noteworthy service--she simply wants to see dogs improve. It's refreshing! With Helena you get a true professional who will put your dog at the forefront of her practice. Without Helena, we were ready to give up on our sweet boy, but now, we have renewed hope that he can he rehabilitated for good. Thanks Helena and Training House Calls for being exactly what we needed to save our dog. Best decision ever :)

My husband and I got in contact with Patrice to help work with our reactive dog, Alice. We wanted to minimizing some of her behaviors on walks, like barking and lunging at other dogs, buses, trucks, bikes....pretty much anything moving. We also wanted to work on her manners when meeting new people at our house, and barking at things out the window. We appreciated the initial meeting with Patrice where she listened thoroughly to our needs, asked questions to get a better understanding, and prioritize our goals. From there, we scheduled private lessons about once a week, and saw Alice's confidence build. She LOVED Patrice, and because the training was all positive and involved her favorite thing, food, she was a very happy participant and picked up things quickly! After a session, Patrice would send out a very detailed email to summarize our training, clarify our training "homework" for the week, and she was always available to answer questions or help troubleshoot challenges in between sessions, and even check in after we ended our training program to make sure things were still going well. Alice is so much better on walks, even when buses, trucks, or other dogs are in close proximity. It's made our walks pleasant and successful when they used to be stressful. We had a friend visit who took Alice for a walk recently and didn't know we had done training -- she raved about the change in Alice on walks! We were so proud and excited to share that our training had paid off.

Extremely responsive and we have had great results with our pup so far! The training is 6 weeks at minimum. He will come to your place or you can meet him somewhere. He give you homework to complete daily. If you do the work, it will pay off! Totally worth the time and money!

My Aussie is a happy, healthy eight year old, but he was always really difficult to take for a walk. He just didn't respond to the leash, no matter the collar or the trainer, and I'd tried several of each. I would come home from what should have been a pleasant walk in tears. Then I found Rick. Now long walks with Rolly are a blessing for us both, and his obedience training has made living with my active guy much easier and more fun. I am sooooo grateful. I've also watched Rick with other dogs. He is a master of his craft. Big, little, tough or timid, he knows how to help them and how to help you, so your bond and time together become more fun and rewarding.

About

I love dogs and helping people. These are my top two favorite things in a part-time hobby. Sign me up! I've never lived in a house without at least three dogs, sometimes as high as six or seven. So, there isn't much that I can't handle. Why I want to sit? I work for myself from home. I have loads of time on my hands, and I already take care of my dogs. They love it when we have company! Whether I come to your place or they come to mine, your dogs will get the best of care and attention. I may even do some training with them!
