Melody was great to work with. She responded quickly to my emails, kept me informed about any changes and was very understanding when I needed to change our plans. From my experience, the company seems well-managed, organized and friendly. I love the idea of music lessons in our home and would recommend this company to anyone.
Dorothy is wonderful! I wanted to resume playing flute after a 35 year hiatus and Dorothy has been extremely supportive and helpful. She has offered many tips and techniques that I never learned when I was young. She provides interesting, challenging assignments and discusses the music theory and various ways to interpret the piece. I am enjoying working with her very much.
Henry is a master teacher for serious students who really want to advance in music theory. He teaches because he loves music and loves to share it with others. He excels at teaching the language of music so people reach the point where they can really enjoy playing, especially jazz piano and guitar. He studied at UC Berkeley for 12 years and has taught at other colleges - he can take students as far as they want to go. He can also teach flute, clarinet, sax, and other instruments if those are your cup of tea. And he directs a local jazz a cappella choir as well. So if you have any musical inclination, he can nourish and expand it. While he's great with advanced students, Henry also has a gift for finding creative ways to teach children and young adults, many of whom may have unique needs and abilities. My daughter explored his roomful of instruments on her own and discovered which she loved to play the most (the harp -- who knew?). Oh, and he's amazing at repairing and tuning up instruments so they play well.
I'm a pianist and piano teacher, and I've played with Lise and her students many times. From that experience, I know that Lise is an excellent teacher - her teaching is musically sound, positive and affirming, and she inspires each students' individual talents. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering flute lessons for themselves or for their child.
Happy to have found Kelly! She very good experience and a wealth of knowledge in music. It's clear that she is not teaching lessons just to make extra money but is an expert. Prices are very reasonable. Positive attitude. She works well with our daughter so far and we look forward to having a long term working relationship with her.
It was great sample lesson . We liked the teacher Perfect fit for my daughter She is looking forward to getting first lesson Thank you
Ms. Tess is WONDERFUL! Our 1st lesson was on a very busy day for her and a Friday no less. Also my 5yo is her youngest student to date and and she had an ill kitty. My daughter asked if she could go back to her flute teacher Ms. Tess the VERY NEXT DAY :)
I've been taking lessons from Fran for about six months. I played flute through 12th grade but hadn't picked it up in 30 years. Fran helped me relearn notes and key signatures and is a master at teaching breath control and technique. Her deep experience in music shows at every lesson. I've remastered some of what I lost and am looking forward to studying with Fran and learning new things in the year to come. I would highly recommend her to a new student or someone looking to refresh and bump up their game.
I can't imagine a better teacher than Rachel. Not only is she so great with my kids, she has an amazing range of instruments she can teach. I'm not sure where else I could find such a patient and kind teacher, who could teach my 7 year old daughter to play the violin so beautifully and my 5 year old son to bust out the trumpet.
Lizzy encourages my daughter to play harder pieces. She takes the time to listen to what my daughter is saying and is very patient with her. Lizzy also encourages my daughter to play her flute with other groups and provides us with info on places where we can go watch others play and join in.
Olga is a very accomplished professional musician who is also great at teaching young students. My daughter started taking piano lessons from Olga10 months ago, when she was only three years old. Olga was able to make her feel comfortable and retain her attention. My daughter has been progressing very nicely. I love how Olga emphasizes the importance of correct posture and hand positions at every lesson. She gives different exercises to strengthen or relax upper extremities. She also uses different materials to keep a 4-yr-old interested and excited about learning new pieces. As a parent, I feel fortunate to have found such a seasoned teacher who is nice, intelligent, and serious about teaching music to her students. Highly recommended!
It was great... much better than I was expecting. I like the fact it was private because I felt uninhibited and much less self-conscious. I'm looking forward to future sessions.
My son wanted to take flute lessons over the summer in anticipation of school band. David worked well with my kid (who had no musical experience) and related well to him. Really enjoyed working with him, getting to know him a little, and never had any problems. Great with kids, would highly recommend him!
I teach flute lessons to students who are at the beginner and intermediate level. No experience is necessary. Lessons are once a week for 30 minutes. We will work on a variety of music and students must be willing to put in practice time out side of lessons in order to be successful.
I teach flute and piccolo lessons to middle school and high school students. I have been teaching for over 9 years, and I have a master's degree in music. I really enjoy teaching privately, and I aspire to create a positive and safe environment in each lesson.
My teaching methods are very fast-learning and you will see quick progress and have fun while learning!
