I had Gonzalez Construction add an additional room in my basement as well as drywall the drop down ceiling, and replace all room and closet doors in my house. Daniel was prompt always returned calls and the work he did was spectacular. I am going to have him do some flooring work for me in the future....I would highly recommend to complete any of future projects!!

Thank you Thumbtack for helping me find Nichols Finish Carpentry! I have never used Thumbtack before and I was thrilled with the results. Frank, the owner, contacted me shortly after I put in my request. They built a walk in closet in my basement. The pricing was more fair and beat all of the estimates I had obtained previously. They were timely, hard working, conscientious about their work, helpful with questions I had, and supported challenges I presented with. They did an awesome job, cleaned up the job and were very easy to communicate with. Frank seemed to know exactly what it was I was looking for. I definitely plan on hiring them again SOON and would highly recommend this company to anyone. There is no need to look anywhere else. And if Frank can't do the job, he probably can get you set up with someone who can. This is the one you need to hire for your construction needs!!

Jessica has a warm and inviting personality, and she's incredibly patient. She will take the time to hear your problems, get to the root of them, and figure out how to tackle them in a way that works for you (not just offer up some cookie cutter method). I highly recommend reaching out to her for all your organizing needs whether it's just a closet that's gone haywire (my closet was one good tug away from being an avalanche of clothes) or figuring out a method for actually keeping your house in order on a day to day basis. Cannot speak highly enough of her! She's great with kids too!

Hayes and her partner were fantastic! I was overwhelmed with boxes from my cross country move. Hayes and her partner unpacked and organized my entire kitchen thinking about the use and placement of each item. She thought about things many people wouldn’t. Having an organizer unpack boxes makes huge difference.

So quick efficient & easy! Shanon re organized my walk in closet that had not been tackled in over a year and my office that had become a dumping ground for all things with out a home. In about 3 hours! One of my favorite parts about decluttering was she took all of my donation items and dropped them off. We hauled the rest to the garbage. Not only was my space functional, it looked great and was easy to maintain. Can't wait to have you back, thank you for all of your hard work.

Lindsay was not only very good at her job, but also so easy to work with. After discussing my areas of concern (closets, garage, kitchen), she was able to quickly assess what was needed and give me the approximate time it would take to accomplish that. I am delighted with the end results; there is a place for everything and I know exactly where that is!

Janae did an excellent job. Arrived on time and performs all duties as asked. In addition, she was able to organize my closet exactly the way I had asked. She was able to go thru a pile of paperwork without to much instruction. One of the times she came to the house (it was a disaster as I had to run out of town last minute) and when I came back everything was in its place with no instructions. It was wonderful! Overall my experience is always quite pleasant and above satisfactory. I truly recommend her services whether you need a deep, quick clean or help organizing your home. Either way, she is a great at what she does!

My home was built in the 60’s and had all the original bedroom doors and closets which were an eyesore and very clunky. Dana and Shannon were great to work with from start to finish and helped me decide which replacements would be economical and bring value to my home. In addition to their professionalism, they were graciously flexible with my family’s scheduling needs and delightfully honest to work with. I’m super pleased with the final results of the work and look forward to working with Dana and Shannon in the future.

I have been a consumer of Sparrow Home’s services for several years. Sparrow Home folks have driven me to and from countless medical appointments and outpatient surgeries and always handle my walking disability with ease and kindness. I have had Sparrow Home workers hang artwork in my house, change ceiling light bulbs and furnace filters, pick up Rxs at my pharmacy, and organize my kitchen cupboards. Most recently, Sparrow Home organized my fairly large craft room - a job I could never have accomplished on my own. Sparrow Home workers are kind, knowledgeable, hardworking and honest. My life is so much less stressful because I know with a phone call or email I can get whatever help I might need. I highly recommend Sparrow Home for all of the caring and professional services it provides.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I find a personal stylist?

To find a fashion consultant, start by browsing portfolios online. Styling is a visual art, so finding a fashion consultant who fits the style you desire is key. Great personal stylists aren’t confined to one style, but if you’re seeking a hipper, fashion-forward vibe, you’d do well to find someone with a modern portfolio, while a fashion consultant with a consistently refined style could be a better fit if you’d prefer a more conservative look. Reading reviews is also helpful for learning more about the fashion consultant. Research their training, background and years of experience. After reviewing websites and Instagram accounts, meet with the stylist in person to learn how well they fit your personality; some fashion consultants offer a free phone consultation prior to hiring. Before hiring, make sure you clearly understand their terms of service and payment.

What do image consultants do?

Image consultants help people look and feel their best by coaching them on their clothing and beauty choices. An image consultant can be hired for a one-time occasion, such as an awards ceremony, big birthday party or photo shoot. The consultant will recommend clothing, hair and makeup to suit the occasion either using either what the client owns or taking a targeted shopping trip. For a complete fashion consultation, the image consultant will assess your wardrobe, your lifestyle, and what you hope to present to the world, and will then determine the best colors, styles and cuts for you. You can get help streamlining your professional appearance, adjusting your style after a change in body size, solidifying a new look, or finding clothing to fit one area of your life like work or weekends. Image consultants also provide closet edits, going through your clothing and paring out what isn’t right for the look you’re trying to achieve. Personal shopping is another service that image consultants provide. After an image assessment, they can either shop with you or shop on your behalf to find you key pieces you need.

What is a fashion consultant?

A fashion consultant is a paid professional who will advise you on what to wear and how to wear it to fit your desired lifestyle or career goals. A fashion consultant can provide many services including personal shopping, closet audits, beauty consultations, style consultations and ongoing seasonal services. A fashion consultant often has a design or fashion background (although this is not required) and an innate sense of style. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut with the colors, cuts and designs we think suit us. A fashion consultant comes in with fresh eyes and provides constructive feedback to guide your style choices.

During your initial meeting, your fashion consultant will take stock of your current clothing selection and learn what you hope to achieve. They’ll identify core wardrobe pieces you need, as well as advise you how to wear items together. Many consultants create style lookbooks for their clients explaining things like exactly which shoes to wear with what pants and how to accessorize each look. Fashion consultants are a great option for people who are updating their style due to age, career changes or body changes, or who are just ready for a new look and feel. Most fashion consultants charge by the hour, with some offering packages and others working from a retainer.

What is a personal shopper?

Personal shoppers take the pain out of having good fashion. Personal shoppers are paid professionals who work with women, men or children who need style assistance. If you are stuck in a fashion rut, are unsure how to dress in a way that flatters your body, need to revamp your image, or want a more professional career look, personal shoppers can help. Personal shoppers identify the look their client wants to achieve and purchase the necessary clothing and accessories to achieve it. The process often begins with an initial consultation with the client to understand their style goals. This consultation may include a closet “audit,” an assessment of the client’s current wardrobe to see what items can be eliminated and what must be purchased to achieve the desired style.

The client and the personal shopper can shop together, selecting items as a team. The personal shopper may also shop on behalf of the client, then bring all items to the client for a final decision. A third option is pre-shopping, where the personal shopper reaches the store(s) ahead of the client and sets aside clothing for the client to try on, expediting the whole process — a win for anyone who hates spending time in the mall. Personal shoppers can also be hired for one-time events such as weddings, vacations or birthdays. You can also enlist a personal shopper to do your gift shopping for you. Overall, a personal shopper is an investment in making good style choices.
