I had Olexy come over to fix my 20 year old-electric-wall oven. He pulled it out of the cabinet and tested everything. He determined it was the control panel. While he was here I also had him look at my side by side refrigerator/freezer because I had noticed ice buildup at the bottom of the freezer and some leaking on the floor. I had a frozen-drain pipe which he quickly repaired. I will definitely use Olexy for any future appliance repairs. He knows his trade, is easy to work with, and I always find dealing with the owner and operator of a small-repair business provides the best value.

Do not use this company! The technician who original came to repair my fridge misdiagnosed the issue. He claimed I needed to replace the evaporator coil, for what was a defrost issue with the freezer. With covid-related delays this took over a week and they charged me over $500. Of course, the same issue occurred a few weeks later when my resident began to manually defrost their freezer (again) and noticed that there were burned and melted wires behind the panel now. I called Horizon back to reschedule another visit. We had communication issues with the resident to enter the unit and when the technician didn’t get an answer he left and refused to answer any calls or texts after the fact. I have texted and called the office repeatedly since then and not a single person has reached out to me. I had another company diagnose the issue as a refrigerant need, which he then completed without delay. I am livid. I am continuing to reach out to Horizon to refund the labor as good faith for their labor warranty policy, for burning my appliance and negligence.

Victor was great. We had our fridge/freezer go out (a Bosch) and he was able to come over a few hours after I talked to him, inspect the issue, and then fix it the next day (had to get a certain part first). I tried contacting several other places (recommendations and random internet searches) and they either didn't respond, told me they wouldn't work on my model, or couldn't come out for two weeks! Then I thought to come here and found Victor. He called me very shortly after submitting a request and helped me with the issue. I have no idea what repairs "should" cost, but I feel like I was charged fairly, especially since some places wanted to charge $200 just to come out and look. I'd definitely recommend Victor and would hire him again to fix appliance if needed!

This is a copy of the review I left on Yelp. Not sure how Horizon Appliance has a 4.3 on Thumbtack as they only have 2 stars on Yelp. Please read reviews on Yelp before hiring this company. Looks like they’re “hit or miss.” Just hope you’re not on the “miss” side of it like many other customers have been………… I rarely find the need to post a review on a company or restaurant unless it is very good........or in this case, very bad. Horizon Appliance replaced the ice maker in our Sub-Zero freezer. After the repair technician left, the ice started stacking up in the ice bin, but it never shut off and the ice started to overflow the ice bin. After looking at the shut off arm to the ice maker, it was very apparent that the shut off arm was too high above the ice to ever shut off the ice maker. It took me 2 minutes on the internet to realize there was supposed to be a plastic "rudder extension" that attaches to the metal shut off arm and extends down to where the ice is, in the bucket below. I called Horizon Appliance 6-7 times to get them to come back and install the missing rudder extension. Each time I talked to them they would schedule a time to come to my home and each time, they never showed. Every time I called back, there was an excuse, repair man got in an accident, family emergency, another repair took longer than anticipated, etc, etc, etc. I could write another paragraph about how bad Horizon Appliance is, but I've already wasted enough time and money with them :( I finally just purchased the part online and will install it myself. We are only out $26.82, but it could be a lot worse if you choose to use this very unreliable company! Trust the other negative reviews on Yelp! I wish I had read them before contacting them. DO NOT USE HORIZON APPLIANCE !!!!!!!!!!! Horizon Appliance - If you read this, please see the receipt for the part below.
