I enthusiastically endorce Versell Wells as a personal trainer. When I met Versell, none of business suits fit. I had simply gained weight from lack of excersize and eating the wrong foods. I knew I had to make a choice. I could either spend my money on super sized clothes and keep on gaining weight. Or, I could spend money on a fitness trainer who could motivate me to eat right and train right. A trusted friend recommended Versell. I'm glad she did. Versell has been working with me for six months now. We stated with an exercise inventory and a food inventory. He started with where I was at and moved me forward. Versell kept me honest and motivated. In December, I tore my MCL in a skiing accident. I feared my previous efforts would be lost. I've battled my weight for my entire life. I e had lots of trainers, however none of them have been as effective and successful in helping me along my journey as Vee has been. He truly cares about all of his clients, and helps them battle all of the hurdles that we face. My goal is to lose weight. I recently had shoulder surgery and my range of motion is pretty limited, and my shoulder/arm strength is next to zero. That combination has caused me to gain a lot of weight recently. I've only had one session with Justin, so far, but he very aware and accommodating around my current limitations. The docs tell me I am going to lose up to 40% of my range of motion. With Justin's help, my goal is to earn 100% recovery. The workout was HARD for me, but Justin kept focused on increasing my performance without allowing me to overdue my current my fitness level.

Hiring a personal trainer was not an easy step for me to take, because what I had seen of personal trainers and at big gyms was a big turn-off. What set him apart initially was that he offered a ‘no gimmicks, no pressure’ approach, was a (or soon to be a) registered dietician, offered additional services as a personal chef, and could do workouts either at his location or mine. When I started, I was in a hectic transition period with my job and so my schedule was unpredictable. Mike completely understood, and worked with me to schedule workout sessions in a very no-pressure way. During workouts, he pays attention (to safety, to how I am feeling and handling it…), and makes adjustments as needed based on the individual person. He started me on a level I could handle and we are building from there. The workouts are interesting and varied, which makes them fun (imagine that!), and I appreciate his positive reinforcement and encouragement, as it pushes me in a positive way to do the best I can. Based on my experience so far, I can say that Mike cares very much about the progress of his students and goes the extra mile to help them reach their goals. In the short amount of time I have been working with him, I have lost 17 pounds (more to go) and I am becoming stronger. As a result am gaining confidence and setting new goals which I am excited to reach! I would definitely recommend Mike and Start Fresh Fitness.

I worked with Michael Aquilar for about 3mos and cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience it was. I really needed help with diet, smoking and alcohol as well as a strong desire to not only lose weight but to also gain strength. In the 3mos with Michael I was able to lose almost 20lbs of fat and showed very noticeable muscle definition. Michael takes a very personal approach to each session and is not there to make the experience awful. As many people know starting a workout regimen after, in my case, years of sedentary life is difficult. I needed help and not only did Michael ease me into it, what he had me do from an exercise and diet perspective started to take place in the first week. I was blown away that just 3 visits a week (with some personal exercise outside of sessions with Michael) would work as well as it did and has. I cannot recommend Michael Aguilar enough. If you're worried about going to gyms, fear judgement on how you think you look or are just simply not sure a personal trainer is for you I think you should give Michael a shot. He'll change your perspective on health and just how much diet and exercise can really change your life.

I have been training with Christine Herr for 5 years . She keeps me motivated and in shape. She works my entire body including weight training and cardio in 1 hour private sessions. I also attend her classes. They are extremely reasonable in price for a great workout. Not to mention, fun! Plus, they are available almost everyday of the week. Hands down the best fitness money I've ever spent. I get more bang for my buck with Christine's sessions than I have out of any gym membership I've ever bought. She does a great job at doing all the "heavy lifting" - knowing what muscle group to work on, changing the workout so it doesn't get boring, demonstrating proper technique. After completing several personal training regiments at gyms in the past, no program has come remotely close to the one provided to me by Jerome O'Leary at O'Leary Theory. I trained with him one-on-one (at my own gym which was convenient) 3 days a week for roughly three months, and the results he helped me achieve surpassed the goals I set when initially meeting with him. Naturally, I am excited about the transformation that had taken place physically and mentally but, more importantly, Jerome was an outstanding individual to work with and has a great background to support it. His years of experience in the Army set a tone of discipline and taking ownership without sounding like a drill sergeant which was awesome. This definitely helped develop my mental toughness which allowed me to push myself harder than I had in the previous programs. Additionally, Jerome is well educated and very knowledgeable. He took an entirely different approach when preparing an exercise prescription for me which differentiates him from all the trainers I used in the past. For starters, he took it back to basics and broke down the fundamentals on how to exercise properly and safely. At first I thought this was silly, seeing that I wasn't new to the gym. However, I learned that there were a number of things I needed to fix with my form that no trainer had addressed before. This was a blessing in disguise as I've had lingering back and knee problems that prevented me from exercising. I have not had an issue with either since I started with Jerome The routines Jerome created were challenging but attainable and near the end of my sessions with him I found myself exceeding expectations. Overall, this experience has greatly impacted my life and the way in which I exercise. I have Jerome to thank for that. Anyone who is considering using a trainer at a gym I highly recommend you out source and check out what O'Leary Theory has to offer, I promise you the quality is superior to most anything out there, not to mention the professionalism and personalization is unparalleled to the trainers I've used. This was my first time getting a personal trainer and I must say I was satisfied with who I hired. I learned a lot form Jerome. I liked that he was knowledgeable about the exercises he instructed with me. Any questions I had about anything about my sessions, certain exercise or anything else, he responded with elaborated detail and was clear for me to understand. I enjoyed every session I had with him. It was fun and exciting. I was always excited to wake up sore the next day and I would tell him about it. Waking up sore means progress and that I had an effective workout. I hired Jerome for 90 days, 2 days a week and got close to my workout goals than if I would of done it alone. If I would of kept on, I would of got to my goals. With the amount of time and days spent with Jerome training me, I'm just glad that he at least helped me get halfway where I wanted to be. I took home a lot of exercises that I learned from him and incorporate them into my workouts. I now have more knowledge of weight training, how to effectivly workout my abs, how to and when to stretch the right way, and learned about high intensity cardio. Overall, I got my money worth, I got results, got educated, and most of all had fun. I would highly recommend Jerome. I plan on hiring him again for a another round!

I worked with Jerome for about one and a half years. We would meet at the gym two to three times a week for guided workouts. The workouts alternated between upper and lower body that always incorporated cardio. He had a set plan in place for my fitness and would occasionally add new types of workouts to break the monotony of the same workout everytime. Instead of focusing on using heavy weights, he was more concerned about using the proper form using a weight that was comfortable for you so you would not hurt yourself but still get a great workout. His knowledge of fitness and the human body went beyond just showing me the proper way to exercise and he was always explaining the different muscles used and gains each exercise provided. He provided me with a written workout plan to use on days we didn't meet so I had guidance to stick with the fitness plan. Overall my experience with Jerome was great, he always kept me motivated and encouraged me to get the best out of my workout.

After losing close to 150 lbs. over 18 months with Weight Watchers, I started training with Dana at the beginning of October 2015. I had lost the weight but had done no strength training prior to that point. Dana asked the right questions and immediately got me working on strengthening my core and building muscle mass that I had never really had before. With the massive weight loss, I had to relearn movement, balance and more. Dana has tailored my training plan to accomplish this successfully. She educated me on proper nutrition with specific instructions on protein and carbohydrate intake in conjunction with Weight Watchers. The difference I have seen since that time has been fantastic. Working with Dana I’ve seen my body weight continue to drop while my lean muscle mass has increased. I’m seeing the toning and definition that I hoped for. My massage therapist has commented on the difference she’s seen in my muscle tone and the strengthening of various muscle groups due to the workout program Dana laid out for me. I know this difference is because of the guidance and encouragement from Dana over this time. I’m also a runner, having completed two Half Marathons since December 2015. With the core and endurance training Dana has put me through, I’ve cut over 3 minutes per mile off of my running pace in the last 3 months. Her style is direct and honest, which I appreciate. She doesn’t pull her punches and doesn’t sugar coat things. That makes a world of difference when your focus is actually seeing noticeable results. At the same time, she’s been extremely supportive and encouraging since day 1. I know that the progress I’ve made physically and in my self-confidence are directly related to the instruction, guidance and support Dana has given me. If you want results from a trainer that knows how to achieve definable and measureable goals, you need to work with Dana and give her 100% of your effort. You will see results. You will feel better and stronger. I'm happy to provide this review based on all the changes I've seen working with Dana.

I've been working with Mark since July. I have worked with trainers before and one of the most common issues is their attention to detail. Most trainers throw exercises at you that aren't necessarily good for your specific needs and capabilities. Mark is very present at all times, paying close attention to form to prevent injuries. I feel like I can trust him to provide exercises that challenge me but that I also can handle. Mark is also very curious and attentive to your lifestyle and nutrition and how that impacts your results. I have noticed quick improvements in my strength and muscle tone since working with Mark. I started looking for a trainer early last summer. Karisa was very prompt in contacting me and we discussed her training program and my needs. I'm on a different road than most people as I was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and pre-diabetes in late 2015. The cancer meds are taking it's toll on my bone density and when I discovered I am pre-diabetic I knew I had to change my nutrition plan. I did not know much about nutrition so changing my diet caused rapid and extreme weight and muscle loss. I knew I was headed for a lot of trouble and I needed professional help. This is when I started my search for a trainer and I am so thankful I found Karisa! She is very knowledgeable in nutrition/diet, working out and strength training. Karisa has a lot of expertise, is professional, upbeat, challenging, motivating and has a true passion for what she does. She is so positive and inspiring. Proper form for best results is very important to her. Her workouts are challenging and she is so encouraging. After each session, Karisa would provide me with a workout plan for the week which was so helpful! I started seeing results after the first few sessions with Karisa. I'm stronger, I feel healthier and have more energy and stamina. It's amazing how toned my muscles are. I don't think I have ever been in such great shape as I am now. I was referred to modest fitness by a friend . After three months of working out on my own with minimal results i had lost maybe 9 lbs in that time frame i knew something had to change. initially i was skeptical i live in NYC and Modest Fitness is based in Colorado but after messaging with Stephon back and fourth and getting my first set of workouts my concerns were alleviated. all workouts were scaleable and challenging the first two weeks were tough but we spoke regularly and adjusted when needed. its been six weeks and i have lost 20 lbs which i admit is uncommon but i will take it. Be prepared to get more than you bargained for. My criteria for hiring a personal trainer were 1.) convenience (close to home so I didn’t have an excuse for not making my session), 2. an efficient and effective program and 3.) trainer that would hold me accountable. After a few sessions, reason 2 and 3 were no longer a concern. I was hooked on my work outs. In addition to being a great trainer, Scott is an amazing and personable guy. As a trainer, Scott is focused on 1.) making sure I’m using proper form and 2.) pushing me further than I ever thought I could go. In the few months I’ve been training with Scott, I’ve 1.) lost fat, 2.) gained muscle and tone and 3.) gained a greater confidence in myself both in the gym and outside of the gym. Scott and I have had five sessions together. Initially I was intending to only do those sessions but just purchased an additional 20 sessions as we move towards meeting my goals. Scott has a specific system/program he follows, is thorough in his explanation of the exercises we will do together, and is consistently adjusting/supporting me in my form. Not having a lot of weight lifting training, I appreciate his interest in supporting my program and making it very personal to me (even though we are following a regimented system he follows with all of his clients). Scott has a gym we work out in so there is not the additional cost of having a gym membership specific to the trainer. The gym is very clean, and is close to my home in Stapleton. I highly recommend Scott Beall Fit should you want to gain muscle and lose fat.

I also attend her classes. They are extremely reasonable in price for a great workout. Plus, they are available almost everyday of the week. Chris is now working with me during my first pregnancy. I hated all my physical education classes in school. I was afraid of the gym, in general. I never felt very comfortable there, and I was afraid of all the personal trainers because it looked like a bunch of burly men sweating and yelling in the corner. Also, I was afraid a trainer would do something horrible, like pinch by belly and then make me do 100 pushups. In short, I was afraid hiring a personal trainer would be a lot of yelling and no fun, and that there was a high possibility I would be made to feel bad about myself and I would immediately want to quit. I love the gym now. I love all those big weights and grunting men. I love being able to lift more weight than most of those guys. On a practical side, I have more muscles mass, tone and mobility, but the real benefit is that I’m now stronger than everyone I know. Before I started working with Chris, I felt weak, and I thought maybe that was the way I would always feel. But now I know that I can crush anything. Literally. Like with my bare hands. I am more than strong; I am powerful. Chris is just fun to be around. It’s a delight to work with him, even when he’s making me do crunches. If I want real fitness science, he’ll explain it to me, but he’ll also turn our workouts into a game so that I’m mentally and physically engaged. I like that Chris is respectful of my body and my feelings. He keeps the focus on what I want to accomplish with my body, rather than it’s appearance. He won’t push me unless I need to be pushed, and he’ll work with whatever my goals are. He’s also a genius at figuring out what will keep me motivated, whether it’s a Katy Perry soundtrack or a serious discussion about my goals. I hired Chris because I needed to supplement my aerial silks training. All I expected was to gain some strength; I didn’t expect that he would turn me into a Viking Warrior Princess capable of dominating everything in her path. If you’re not working out with Chris, you’re wasting your time and money.

Constant Motion Fitness is the way to go to get in shape! I have been training with Joe for a month now, and have really noticed a difference. After 2 kids and life, I put on A LOT of weight. Not only am I down from a size 20 to a size 16, but I feel stronger and have more energy. In fact, at the bootcamp session today, I was able to run the entire 1/4 mile lap around the park. I NEVER thought that would be possible!!! Joe is an amazing trainer. Not only does he know about how to work the body for the results you want, but he also knows a lot about nutrition! He has helped tweek my diet without being restrictive. The exercises are nothing like traditional boring workouts. There was another group working out at the park where we were and they were doing crunches. Instead of crunches, I was doing rotating squat throws with a 9lb medicine ball. Not only was I working the same ab muscles as the crunch, I was also working my arms and legs and was having a WHOLE lot more FUN!!!! The bootcamp workout is different everytime. I've been going to Constant Motion Fitness Weekly Boot Camps, so I could get into better shape to lay Ultimate! The groups are a great size, so you get a lot of personal attention. It's like you're getting a personal trainer for the price of a group session. I've known our trainer, Joe, for some time, and he is very friendly and knowledgeable. He's really good at targeting your workout to your specific goals, even though the Boot Camp sessions are group sessions. He brings lots of equipment so that you never feel like you're waiting in line for 'your turn'. I really like working out outdoors in the park as well, instead of in some sweaty musty gym. It adds a great deal to the overall experience, and makes me feel like I'm working out in the same environment I'm training for.
