FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends on the program you are participating in. I offer 1-on-1 private personal training generally for new clients or clients who need direct attention with all aspects of their training. This is the price quoted to you on thumbtack. The cost per session decreases with session frequency (ex. 3x/wk vs 2x/wk). Most of my clients however, participate in semi-private personal training (1-4 clients training around the same time following their own individualized program). The advantages of semi-private personal training are reduced cost for you, the client, while still receiving direct coaching and an individualized training program in a motivating atmosphere with other like-minded individuals. I also offer online-only training programs and hybrid training programs (a few check-in sessions a month with online program). To find out which program may be best for you, send me a message or check out my website, clarkstrength.com.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each client starts things off with an initial one-on-one assessment and consultation, I like to call these initial meetings "Success Sessions" as they allow us to plan out what it will take for you to be successful in this journey. This thorough process involves taking a close look at your goals, injury history, training experience, nutrition, and quality of movement in addition to taking initial body composition and performance measurements. With the information gathered during the Success Session, I design an individualized training program to fit your specific needs and goals. The key word here is individualized. The programs I write for each client are not your typical cookie-cutter program you can find across the internet or in the latest edition of a popular fitness magazine. They are designed with you and your goals in mind. During your training sessions I will coach you through your exercises and correct your technique and provide feedback. I am there to coach you through your program and help you reach your goals, I won’t just stand around counting sets and reps. Outside of your sessions I will continue to coach and monitor your progress in any ways I can, including nutritional habits, answering questions, providing workouts, recipes and tips, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified as a personal trainer by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT) as well as a Sport Performance Coach by USA Weightlifting (USAW-L1SP). My certifications tell you that I have the bare minimum knowledge to pass standardized tests, however there is much more to training than that. I am always learning, as I feel it is mandatory in any industry, let alone one growing and changing with new information every few years such as the fitness industry. When I am not training or enjoying my down time, I am probably reading current articles by coaches I follow and respect, shadowing a physical therapist or chiropractor, or reading up on the latest research in training and nutrition. I have additional areas of knowledge in corrective exercise, senior fitness, youth training, and sport performance.
