Josh responded quickly to my Thumbtack request and arrived right on time to do the work. Josh worked hard and did a first-class job on my lawn, mowing, edging and hauling away the grass clippings.

I'm completely satisfied with Mike. He did a great job on a Spring cleanup. He also noticed a leaking back flow valve and brought it to my attention. I've asked Mike to provide new services.

We were looking for help redoing our yard, from laying new sod to landscaping the edging. From the very first inquiry, Brian and his team were extremely responsive, friendly and helpful. Their great service continued throughout the project: they worked diligently while consistently going above and beyond to fix any problems and unexpected issues that arose during the job. We were grateful for their hard work and we will definitely be using their services again. I recommend them highly.

Just in the second week in hire but accomplished a tremendous amount in the first week with weeding and lawn edging that would havd taken me an entire weekend or more. Was a fast hire and very reasonable rates. Still need pruning and some missed weeds in the shrubs/flower beds but I'm hopeful with the next few weeks we'll be caught up with the yard after I got behind 4 weeks prior to hire.

Our rental property was in need of a backyard makeover and we had a new fence, new sod, edging and sprinklers repaired. The price and timing were great and the yard looks awesome.

Great job. Keven was here to mow my lawn when he said he would be. He is a very pleasant person to work with. It is more important that you have me evaluate this service at the end of the summer. Thank you for putting him in touch with me.

The workers were able to come at an earlier date due to the rain forecast for the scheduled date. They completed the work in one afternoon. Everything looks good and clean. The work involved: 1.Laying new sod 2. cleaning and edging 2 flower beds 3. Adding new pavers 4. laying down some flagstones. Good job.

So far I have hired Dave twice and he has done a great job. I plan on continuing asking Dave to mow my yard throught out the summer. I also asked Dave to fix my own mower and he had it done the next day, all of the large retail places were telling me 2 weeks or more. As I have more tasks around the house the more I will be calling Dave to help me.

Wow, surprised to see the other reviews as my experience with Sprinkler Solutions was nothing but positive, competitive prices and professional work. I had a total landscape project performed this past Fall which included sprinkler installation, rock installation and sod. I have had no complaints. Highly recommended.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have your lawn mowed?

Regular lawn maintenance can do wonders for your home’s curb appeal. Professional lawn care prices will vary based on the regional cost to do business and regional cost of labor, the size of your lawn, and any additional services you may desire such as edging or mulching. The national average for lawn mowing costs is $30-$50. Pros may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or by the square foot (an acre contains 43,560 square feet). Square footage rates factor in the professional’s time, the use of their equipment, and the gas to operate the mower. Distance may also affect cost: If you live outside the company’s standard service range, you may pay an additional travel fee. Here are some examples of average prices for mowing and lawn maintenance:

    • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
      • Bimonthly: $40 per service/$80 per month.
      • One time only: $45 per service.
        • Prices include mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.
    • Hourly rate: $25 per hour (including travel, equipment costs and labor).
    • Lot size:
      • Smaller lots in subdivisions: $35.
      • Half-acre lot: $50.
      • One-acre lot: $100.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
