After a few lessons the music is starting to come together. I just had my first jam session with some buddies and they were very impressed with the technique and clean playing style that I am developing. Mike is fun and professional, I look forward to the days when we can really rock out!
Piano lessons tailored to my background and at my pace. Great stuff. Matt and Jeff are very easy to work with and I look forward to working with them more.
I have known Jeff since his early childhood, about the time he first picked up a guitar. He has always been intuitive, inventive and refreshing in his own creativity. I know he possesses a tremendous integrity in life and his passion for music. Investing in JR Guitar is not just music lessons but an opportunity to learn dedication from a true musician and inspiration from a wonderful human being. I endorse Jeff whole heartedly and recommend his course to all who desire the same. William L Ruhl- singer/song writer HOTC studio.
Our 15 year old son has been taking voice lessons with Karen for the last year and says she is the best instructor of any kind he has ever had. Her professionalism, passion and warmth are amazing - and our son has grown so much! We can't say enough good things!
We have hired Gary Schmidt to teach all three of our children piano lessons. He is able and willing to meet all three of them right where they are in regards to their ages (11, 8, and 5) and interests, and offers scheduling flexibility whenever possible. He is a very kind and approachable person and a superbly seasoned teacher. We are very happy we found him!
Brett is a very enthusiastic and professional music instructor. He has a very wide range of music to teach but is also more than willing to learn a new song to teach to his students. If it can be played on a guitar, Brett can teach it.
Egemen is a tremendous composition teacher. His ultimate goal is always to help his student find the sound they are searching for, and every comment and suggestion is made with that intent. Egemen's immense mental catalogue of music allows him to make suggestions for listening on the spot, helping his students learn more about sounds and techniques they want to develop. I can attest that the quality of my compositions has increased drastically since setting foot in his studio, and I will always have his voice in the back of my head stating "wouldn't it be more effective to subtly obscure the metric feel at this point?" Egemen is incredibly supportive, respectful, kind, considerate, and talented, and I would recommend him to anyone who is seeking a highly skilled mentor.
Excellent instructor! Patient and encouraging. I look forward to many more lessons with her.
If you really want to enjoy playing a guitar acoustic or electric theres no aspect of playing or personal effort thats going to get you to that goal of enjoyment and self-confidence faster than an exceptional teacher. After a year of lessons, I found Lyle Long to be a truly exceptional teacher and musician. As a teenager, I was given a guitar by my grandmother, and over the next few years taught myself some basic chords, a few songs, and a lot of bad habits and techniques. I never took lessons. Looking back, I now understand why I got frustrated, lost interest, sold the guitar, and walked away from playing for 45 years. Last year, I picked up a guitar and find out what I could do with it. At 63, I wondered if an old dog really could learn any new tricks. From the first lesson, Lyle brushed away all of my hesitation and self-doubts, and started working on fixing those old, self-inflicted bad habits, poor techniques, and mistaken concepts. To put it mildly, it was great fun, amusing, and instructive; but step-by-step, a real confidence builder. I can only imagine what might have been if Id have been lucky enough to have had a teacher like Lyle when I was a teenager. Without doubt, the positive impacts would have been far more than just improving my musical abilities. To any parents out there who are considering music lessons for their children, I highly recommend Lyle Long as an instructor, and a role model. And if youre an adult, and ever wondered if you could play a guitar, all I can say is, Stop wasting time thinking about it! Give Lyle a call. I guarantee youll have a ball finding out more about guitars, music, and yourself than you ever imagined possible. Chris Crown
Patrice is a delight. Her love of singing and music is inspiring. I felt no pressure to perform or reach a pre-set goal but to travel at my own pace. She took time to get to know me, my voice and musical preferences. I look forward to the lessons and releasing my own music.
As a professionally trained musician myself, (though not in voice), I sincerely appreciate CarolJoy's respect for my own musicianship, along with her uncanny ability to continually challenge my vocal training, while maintaining an encouraging environment in our lessons. CarolJoy Evans radiates true JOY in her teaching, and she obviously cares for every single one of her students. My having this opportunity to work with CarolJoy is indeed both a genuine blessing and a JOY, for which I am truly grateful!
First lesson went well Mr Collette presented easy to understand information.
We love working with Moises! After just two weeks of tutoring, my daughter said "Now I understand the mistakes I have been making in math and I also understand how to do it right next time. I am starting to like math." Moises knows how to teach so that the information goes from short term memory to long term memory. We also have my son taking guitar lessons with Moises. He loves it so much he has requested lessons twice a week. We feel fortunate to have found someone who can work effectively with a student with ADD and that is an overall great teacher and kind person.
I studied with Raisa for a few years growing up and it was her teaching that made notes and sheet music transform into musicianship for me. She helped me understand how to put feeling in everything I played and how to really play from my heart. Not only her piano lessons but her life lessons were passed onto me through her love of music and her gigantic heart.
My kids LOVE their music class with Ms. Robin! They look forward to it all week and have learned so much about music in a really fun way! My 7 year old daughter composed and played her own song on the piano and my 5 year old is learning piano so quickly!
Jeff's ability to play guitar is easily verified by putting his name in a Google or You Tube search. You can also see/hear for yourself by enjoying an evening with the best 70's Band in Colorado (MM8TR) or by catching one of his Classical Guitar recitals. The fact that Jeff is a renowned musician is undeniable but not that important if you want to learn guitar. What is important is his STRONG capability to teach and lead you down a learning path catered to your goals. I have had lessons from countless instructors and the problem I always found is they are great players but not so great at teaching. Jeff was able take the piece meal knowledge I had and fill in the blank spots while guiding me towards musical literacy. Ultimately we exceeded my goals and I started performing in front of large audiences on a regular basis. If you have the opportunity and privilege to become Jeff's student you will make progress! He can do it all (except your homework for you) and you will learn! Bryan B Highlands Ranch, Co.
The teachers teach to your style. I have grown so much in my vocal singing and I feel comfortable singing in front of people! I love Flourish and would recommend it as a great beginner and expert lessons.
Our family first met Annika in 2013 when my daughter and I began learning to play the violin. My daughter says, "Annika is friendly and good at explaining things." I second that; and, would add "patience" to the list of descriptors. We felt so lucky to find in the Annika in the busy DC area where the demand for good music teachers is so great. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending her. We really miss her!
Holly is a strong vocal coach. Her training offers a wide-variety of support for various musical interests from Broadway and classical to modern pop. She is pleasant to work with, organized, and takes time to answer questions or make things that can be confusing more clear to the student. She was also able to help me correct some of my breathing, jaw, and enunciation issues in just one less. I've been singing and performing professionally for almost 20 years now. I would recommend giving Holly a try for sure!

We offer voice lessons and vocal performance classes and the Ecstatic Choir. Michele Jennings is our voice teacher and performance coach. Michele has been teaching for more than 10 years and loves encouraging her students to express themselves through blues, R&B, jazz, folk, pop, funk, country, rock 'n roll, and more. Michele has a unique ability to identify and bring out the latent talents of new and inexperienced singers and gives them the confidence they need to express themselves in a style that is supportive as well as challenging. She is keenly aware that there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach and tailors her teaching methods to the needs of each student. She brings a caring and professional attitude to her leadership that fosters an assurance from which her students immediately benefit. She records portions of private voice lessons to mp3 or audio CD format for the students to use at home. Michele has directed Boulder's Ecstatic Choir for eight years. This is a community non-traditional choir, where all are welcome to join with no experience necessary. She has created and led vocal empowerment workshops for business leaders through the Boulder Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program and directed the singing program for children's Boulder Conservatory Summer Camp. She also enjoys mentoring teenage students in solo or group vocal technique and harmonies. Michele teaches vocal performance classes as well, where students learn to sing on stage into a microphone, direct a live band, and to connect with their audience. Classes focus on learning to do the following: - Honestly and authentically communicate yourself through your song's message - Confidently lead and communicate with the band, using language they understand - Understand and apply music theory and song structure - When under pressure, find your true presence - Use vocal technique effectively - Rehearse and use performance technique and stage presence to find power "I hold the radical assumption that if a person can talk, that person can learn to sing with ease, power and full control. Learning to sing in this way filters over into other aspects of our lives, and I find that students become more effective communicators and more confident individuals" - Michele Styles taught include jazz, pop, blues, rock, R&B, funk, motown, soul, oldies, disco, country, folk, and children's.
