Joan, has been professional and knowledgeable and knows what is helpful and she is Using techniques that are pertinent to today’s therapy
Therapy with Alison worked for us. It took awhile. There were a few months when nothing seemed to be changing. My wife and I were having the same fights, stuck the same way. I wanted to quit, but my wife insisted and I'm glad she did. Things started to click. The same things Alison had been pointing out to us suddenly made sense at a different level. Maybe we just needed to hear it over and over, or maybe the sessions we were doing got us ready, but suddenly we were able to change. Alison had been assigning us homework, but we rarely did it. When we started doing the homework, our marriage got better faster. But Alison never judged us when we didn't do it. She was always patient. She also saw both sides and helped us look at things instead of blaming one person, as a "dance" we get stuck in.
Having met Dr. Anna is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I had been in therapy for over a decade with various counselors, but now I know the difference between a therapist and a Therapist. She is warm, compassionate and creative, no two sessions are the same, and she seems to have an incredible repertoire of techniques at her disposal. She is always goal-oriented, makes sure that results are really happening, and always explains everything so clearly as you have never heard and never understood before. She has the greatest sense of humor, her academic knowledge is amazing, and her fine-tuned sensitivity boarders on the mystical. Yet she is always funny, down to earth, and real. I've never laughed so much in therapy sessions before! :-) I am so grateful, ... because I am finally discovering what "free" and "happy" really mean!
I have a long history of positive and productive therapy, a lifelong commitment to holistic healing and personal growth and 14 years of 12 step work. While all of those supports have brought me much insight and a robust tool box for a happy and highly functional life; none has provided entire clarity around and subsequent relief from lifelong patterns and blocks I have never been able to access and therefore heal. I came to Lorraine in a state of relative crisis and in a matter of months, found myself leaping forward, addressing and resolving core issues I have struggled with my whole life. Her down to earth, relatable personality and style combined with her profound intuition and considerable expertise as a therapist and healer have offered me the most rapid and deep healing I have ever experienced. There is, with Lorraine, an energetic exchange that can only be experienced not described. I am infinitely grateful to have been referred to her. Nicole N.
Michel is a wonderful, insightful therapist. I felt comfortable talking about personal problems with him. I trust him which is key to good therapy. A +
Judy was so helpful for me in figuring out strategies to help manage my anxiety. When I began therapy and it felt like many aspects of my life were falling apart, but a year of working together, so many things have improved. She also helped me find my voice in my relationship - something I’m incredibly proud of.
I have been a patient of Sheri's for the past decade, attending regular sessions as well as a group therapy program. In that time, my therapy with Sheri has given me the tools I need not to just survive, but to thrive. She is empathetic, kind, intelligent and competent - an all around exceptional therapist. She has been in the trenches for many years, working with people who have faced the worst of circumstances, and she bears our suffering admirably and in the process diminishes the potency of those experiences. Sheri also empowers us to help ourselves, frequently recommending books, movies, healers, and the like. To those out there in need of help, I hope you, too, find your way to Sheri.
Dan Minuchin is an outstanding family therapist, mental health consultant, trainer, teacher and clinical supervisor. I have had the fortune of working with him and observing him in all of these roles over the past several years. I initially worked with Dan about 10 years ago when I was a supervisor at agency that provided family therapy and services to families struggling with adolescents and families involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. In this setting, he provided case consultation, supervision, and training to a team of social workers and family therapists. This model included live supervision and the use of a one way mirror. Dan would also accompany therapists on home visits to provide live consultations in the family's home. I later became a director of another similar family service program. I was able to hire Dan to provide Structural Family Therapy training to my entire clinical staff, as well as consultation, individual and group clinical supervision. His guidance and training was very well received by my staff and their skills as family therapists improved significantly. Dan is really a master trainer and has worked as a family therapist, teacher and trainer for several decades. He has an incredibly diverse personal and professional background and experience working with families of all walks of life. He is sensitive and well informed of the needs and experiences of families of color, immigrant families, LGBTQ families, blended families, Jewish Orthodox families, families struggling with substance abuse and mental illness, delinquent teens, children with special needs, and families dealing with divorce, loss and separation. I have referred many families to Dan and I feel confident that he is able to work with the most complex families of all backgrounds. Dan is thoughtful and empathic and has very high ethical standards. His structural and strategic approach to addressing problems is highly effective and families often will see progress in a short amount of time. I am a family therapist and clinician as well, and Dan has provided me with outstanding clinical supervision and guidance and has been instrumental in my own professional growth as a therapist and clinical supervisor.
Liz did a wonderful job of identifying my son's challenges and offered fun and engaging exercises to help him overcome them. My son had his appointments with Liz after a long day of school, when his energy and focus level were nearly always waning. But Liz could alway get my son to perk up and get him interested in his speech therapy. She's a warm, patient and committed therapist who goes out of her way to meet a child's needs.
My son had been suffering with severe anxiety and depression. We treated him with Western medicine: psychotherapy and pharmaceuticals. This form of treatment only made him suffer more. My son was willing to find another way "out" of his condition. He wanted to get to the source of his suffering and heal it. He found success with Nishanto Kane of Mind Designing. Through a variety of therapies tailored to his needs, she was able to pinpoint the source of his suffering and begin to heal the internal "wounds" he had begun developing in Sixth Grade. She gave him the "tools" to repair himself - but he had to be willing to do the work. Over the course of the summer before he entered his Senior Year of High School, he weaned himself off all medication, did his "exercises", checked in with Nishanto and became whole again. This mother and son owe a huge debt of gratitude to Nishanto Kane. It is my wish that she continue her mission of assisting people to attain their fullest potential and, then, pay it forward. Gratitude abounds!
She is a very experienced, intuitive and emphatic therapist who helps one help oneself in a direct but gentle fashion using humor and seriousness. I would recommend her to anyone willing to face themselves.
I'm from the Bronx, NY and I have been dealing with issues of depression, as well as trying to move in a direction for my life. I've dealt with issues of separation from my partner, financial crunches, and still trying to achieve my future goals. It's as if I felt paralyzed, and I experienced panic attacks when trying to make decisions. Ms. West surely went above and beyond in her ability to help me address these problems. Along with being prompt and prepared, Ms. West was able to really help me confront issues within our sessions, and we even complete exercises that give me more insight into my issues. I am truly impressed by the quality of her work as I have been able to move past these feelings of paralysis, and make decisions that are truly allowing me to move forward.
I have been attending pulse therapy for 4 sessions, and have had very positive results for my plantar fasciitis. Nothing else has really helped, and the therapy is medication free, pain free, and really works. I totally recommend for any pain issues.
Dr. Nugent is my physical therapist. He is very professional and very adept with his manipulative therapeutic care. He is knowledgeable and very empathetic during my therapy sessions. I have experienced a considerable improvement in my ability to manage my shoulder pain since I have been under his care. I highly recommend his services for helping you learn to manage your pain as well as you gainfully improve on your mobility.
