The home inspection was unbelievably thorough. I had a home inspection before and it was just 2 pages with check boxes. Mill River Inspections was a 46 page report with photos and recommendations. Mill River was also moderately priced in comparison to the other inspectors. Would highly recommend Mill River.
It was a pleasure to have Chris work in my building. He was on tims, efficient and a true proffesional! Highly recommend!
Mike was amazing from the first moment we communicated on thumbtack. He was quick to respond and answered questions I had which made me feel confident in hiring him for our home inspection. The moment we arrived to the site he explained everything to us. What stood out to me was that although my fiancé was present Mike explained things to the two of us equally and made sure that I understood what was going on with the house. He took his time and was thorough with the inspection. To top it off our inspection took place Sunday ending around 7 pm-his inspection report was in my email by 8 am Monday morning- including pictures and recommendations of what should be evaluated further and repaired. I called four different inspectors and Mike offered a the best rate and was available to conduct the inspection much sooner than the other companies I called. Affordable, professional, honest and thorough. I will definitely call him again if needed and will recommend to anybody looking for a home inspector!
Our experience with Charlie Rinaldi for our home inspection was wonderful! Being an Engineer, his expertise put us at ease while buying a 93 year old REO house. We've bought 7 houses over the years and have never had such a thorough knowledgeable inspectior! He spent over 3 hours going over and explaining every inch of the house and addressed our concerns with the foundation, roof, plumbing and partially updated electrical. Charlie's electrical background was extremely helpful. Charlie is not a nit-picker. He doesn't exaggerate minor issues to validate inspection report as many other home inspectors do. Charlie explained the necessary immediate repairs , and the minor repairs that would be needed in the future. *Weeks after our inspection, we had an issue with mortgage underwriter who'd seen an appraisal picture and was adding last minute contingencies to our loan . We reached out to Charlie Rinaldi requesting his help. He was a true professional and went the extra mile, writing a letter to clarify the non-existent issue. We highly recommend Charlie and Rinaldi Engineering for thorough and accurate home inspections, he is truly qualified with his Engineering background ! Thank you Thumbtack!
We highly recommend using Alan and PHI for home inspections. We found PHI through the high number of positive reviews received on the BBB website, and decided to go with them to inspect our prospective house in the Stamford area. At a surprisingly affordable rate, Alan spent almost 4 hours with us, going over the house, from attic to basement, backyard to front yard, roof to crawlspace. He pointed out issues we would not have noticed. With his camera, he took photos during the inspection that he could review more closely later. During his review of the photos, Alan found evidence of pests, and took the time to make a second visit back to the property to ensure what he saw were pests or not. Alan is very passionate about building and inspection, and seems very interested in what he does. Within 48 hours after the inspection, Alan provided a detailed, comprehensive report with accompanying photos of the inspection which later helped in negotiations with the seller. We were very pleased with Alan's services and would hire PHI again in the future.
Mr. Repass inspected a house we are buying. We are from another state, so we didn't know any inspectors. He was on time, prepared, knowledgeable and thorough. He took time to answer all my questions. I chose him partly because he has a certification that I don't think every inspector has. I value a professional who makes time to associate with others in his profession and keep learning. He displayed a strong sense of ethics. I would recommend him to others highly.
I am a Realtor who is always on the lookout for good, competent inspectors. Paul is that plus he has gone out of his way after the inspection to help my buyers. If you are looking for an inspector, Paul is an excellent choice.
It was a nice experience working with a women home inspector. I was able to ask questions and feel confident she understood. She made me feel at ease with the process. I would recommend her to friends and family
I have used many home inspectors in the past, but Lance from Eagle Eye is a notable step up from the rest. Being in construction myself, I was very impressed with his knowledge in building construction, heating, electrical and plumbing systems. There were no short cuts with Lance, very meticulous to details and left no stone unturned. His professional, courteous and friendly attitude was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be using Eagle Eye again on my next purchase.
I have never found an inspector as detailed oriented as Brian Sweig. His knowledge was crucial during the purchase of my home. Brian's expertise saved me thousands of dollars on what could have been a money pit. I would recommend Brian to anyone looking to purchase a new home, preparing to sell their home or trying to figure out underlying issues in their current home.
The best home inspection company ever! We used ProChek when purchasing our home and Chris was amazing! He went through the whole house with us and pointed out every issue. He was excellent and we are now in our home and very happy!
I have used Caro Construction for four major projects now, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them for all of my future jobs. This is a brief outline of some of his work for me personally from 2011 to present: 1. Apartment conversion: I had need of carpentry services to remodel and convert a large apartment I own into two smaller units. This required putting up walls, creating a new entryway and hanging doors, planning and installing a kitchen, and remodeling a bathroom. 2. Kitchen gut/remodel: This job was instigated by a water leak and an insurance claim, but we had the kitchen gutted to the studs and joists from the ceiling down. Mr. Caro worked in tandem with my insurance adjuster to handle the job on my behalf before I arrived in person to see the final result. He was very professional and the results were fantastic and economical. 3. Frozen pipe insurance claim: I had a hot water baseboard heating pipe in the wall burst in the middle of winter in one unit of a 4 unit apartment building. Mr. Caro once again worked in tandem with my insurance company to make repairs to the affected second story unit as well as the unit immediately below. This repair required subcontracting for plumbing repairs and flooring replacement, tearing out and replacing walls, insulation, and a ceiling. The job was done very quickly and very well, and when part of the insurance claim became an issue (some materials were not replaceable due to age - ceiling tiles from 1960) he worked with me to creatively and economically resolve the situation. 4. Replace front entryway stairs and porch repair: The entry to my 4 unit apartment building had stairs that were not mounted correctly below the frost line and they moved and rotted as a result. He tore the stairs off, leveled the entire structure, made some minor repairs replacing some floor boards and all rails, and built a new, level, much better staircase. 5. Many miscellaneous repairs and interior remodeling and finish work: over the years of getting great service from Caro Carpentry, I came to depend on him for all my maintenance and repairs for both my house and my 4 unit apartment building. I have found him to have excellent communication skills, accurate bids, and hes very honest and pleasant to deal with. He was very professional in his dealings with me, with other contractors he brought in for specific stages of the work in progress, and gave frequent progress reports as well as communicating the next steps during the entire process. I was very pleased with the end results of all my projects. The quality of his subcontractors was also such that I have used several of them several times for other jobs, as well.
very personable and knowledgeable
