"Taking piano lessons through the video chat was really helpful for me since I don't have to drive anywhere. The teacher I took from is really excellent and I've learned how to read music and play a bunch of different pieces as a result of the lessons. The value is good too, not sure where else I could find good quality lessons at this sort of price."

"I decided to fulfill my dream of learning how to play the piano properly with a good teacher. I found Pam on Thumbtack and she has been fantastic for my adult piano lessons. I am 39 years old with a musical background that dates very far back in the day (high school), and she taught me the basics and challenged me beyond what I thought I was capable of. She is patient but strict, and emphasizes technique in a way that I find to be so helpful to prevent bad habits from starting early. Pam is a devoted teacher who pours herself into each of her lessons for all of her students. I have been learning from her for the past 6 months and plan to stick with her as long as she's willing to teach me."

"I was a bit nervous starting piano lessons in my 70s but Jonathan has given me such encouragement and praise that I am eager to take on increasingly challenging pieces. He is very attentive both to my strengths and to things I need to work on. Lessons are stimulating and very rewarding. I have seen him perform in groups and solo piano - he is superb!"

"When looking for classical piano lessons for our child, like all parents, we were concerned that she would not only receive great instruction and an appreciation for great music, it needed to be an enriching and enjoyable experience overall. Well with David Gleba we have found just that. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he is kind, patient, light-hearted-just a tremendous person. He is an exceptional musician providing an extraordinary experience for our child. We could not be happier and are so glad we found David Gleba. We highly recommend him!"

"I was a bit apprehensive about signing my 4 year old daughter up for vocal lessons because of her age. I went to a few people to see what they could offer and to hear my daughters voice. I was not impressed. Then I called Billy and he invited me over with my daughter to meet him. It was a fabulous first impression which was 8 months ago! My daughter Myrissa, now 5, has blossomed in both her appreciation for song as well as her voice! My husband and I are truly impressed and very appreciative of just how heat Billy is with our daughter. We highly recommended New Haven Academy of Performing Arts!! We would also advise to start as young as they are interested because she has truly become a beautiful little singer and we can't wait for what's to come!"

"I just wanted to let anyone who might be interested in Mindful Piano Play know that I am so excited about Sharon Lehr's way of teaching piano! I was Sharon's very first piano teacher (very traditional, old school type of piano teacher, I think, although I never used the John Thompson method!), and in spite of me, she has become an accomplished pianist and teacher! She's had so much more training that I did, and she thinks "outside the box", which is what I want to be teaching my own current students. I have learned so much from Sharon--how to let kids make mistakes and correct them on their own, how not to TALK so much when teaching, how to let the kids PLAY with music and just enjoy it, how to teach kids to be spontaneous and creative on the piano, and how to implement those techniques. She now teaches my grandchildren how to play the piano, and she does it by this method of "mindful piano play". I am so happy to recommend her as a teacher--you'll be glad you entrusted your children (or your own self as an adult!) to her way of teaching."

"Dan has done a great job with my daughter, starting when she first sat down at the piano 6 years ago. He's taught her how to play the piano now and for the future- meaning proper hand position, practice habits and understanding the process. He has suggested appropriate music for her to learn and helped her with pieces of her choosing. She has progressed beautifully and has mastered a variety of easier to difficult pieces. His patience and sense of humor have no doubt helped her along!"
