About

I started taking voice lessons at New Haven Academy of Performing Arts with Billy just over a month or so ago. I can honestly say it is my favorite part of the week. Billy is so knowledgeable and talented and makes lessons fun. I have already learned so much about the voice and Billy has helped tremendously with my confidence level. I would recommend anyone from any experience level to NHAOPA in a heartbeat!

About

Becca has been teaching my son voice lessons for several years and she is phenomenal with him. She has adapted her teaching strategies to accommodate his changing voice. My son is very shy and she has worked through that shyness with him so that now he is more comfortable and confident in his performances. She has nourished his love and passion for music through her own passion and love. I am forever grateful for her dedication and patience to helping her students achieve their goals and dreams.

About

Everyone wants to make sure they're getting their moneys worth when it comes to music lessons & their teachers. Matt is worth every penny. Briefly about myself, I've been involved in music for over 20+ years playing various instruments, so I've had a number of teachers along the way. I'm also the type of guy that has his girlfriend tell him to be quite when singing in the car because my voice is that bad. Far from an ideal situation. Well I may not be going on tour any time soon, my voice has made a vast haul forward. Matt has been a huge help in fixing many of my vocal issues. He's clearly a professional in his field, and his knowledge about his craft is evident immediately. Not only was he able to address my specific issues with voice, but also help correct me while being completely personable. He knows what is applicable and important for the student to learn, and what's unnecessary at the time. He's more than happy to help a student learn a repertoire that they're into musically while still fitting with their voice, or assisting with some of the more classic pieces he helped provide. Like I said I've taken many private lessons along the way in the world of music. Theres some bad teachers out there, an abundance of decent teachers, and a few great teachers. Matt is a great teacher. Book lessons with him, you won't regret it.

About

For forty years, I have been singing opera and concert on the world's great stages. For the last thirty years, I have been teaching vocal technique. To sing one repertoire on the world's stages is difficult enough, but for the last twenty five years, I have been singing three repertoires. I made Metropolitan Opera debut as a bass, my European debut as a bass and won the prestigious Richard Tucker Award also as a bass. However, I sang my first Wotans at the Stadttheater Augsgurg and made my Royal Opera debut at Covent Garden in the role of "Scarpia." If I had to weigh my sucesses over the last thirty years between my guys and my girls, the scale would definitely tip in favor of my girls.

This is a birthday gift to my boyfriend (31 years) who loves to sing karaoke but would benefit from better technique and guidance. He works hard in financing, singing would be a nice escape from his daily rutines (= working only). He would start from 5 lessons or so and then see if he has time and motivation to continue.
