I hired Denean’s Party by Design to help me with the decor for my mother’s 60th birthday on Thanksgiving 2017. It was my first time working with an event planner for a personal event and I did not know what to expect. I was nervous about the cost as well as the quality/execution for the event. I wanted something beautiful but on a budget and they did not disappoint! EVERYTHING about my experience with them was absolutely fabulous. They helped me create the look I wanted without breaking the bank, provided very detailed instructions on how to flawlessly execute and setup the event (since it was being hosted on a holiday), very responsive, punctual and uber profressional. Everyone in attendance was in love with the decor. Hands down one of my best experiences ever working with an event planning company. I will continue to use them for any event I plan (small to big).

I was trying to plans a birthday dinner for my wife and wanted to be conscious and responsible and allow for social distancing due to COVID. I decided to host the dinner in my garage as I thought that would allow for the most space. I cleaned out the garage to the best of my ability but had no idea on how to approach decorating. I reached out to Garnished-Events on short notice and they were very kind and responsive. They walked me through several options for seating, decor and color combinations, but at the end of the day the concept was theirs. The came the morning of the event and decorated and set up everything. My wife was blown away as well was I. It turned out awesome and we had a beautiful night with friends. Kadzo was a true professional. I asked her to decorate for my dads 100th birthday. I met her only about two weeks before. She did a great job in light of the short time line. I have a couple questions about stuff I didn’t see but she did a great job in such a short timeline. And she decorated two events for me in one weekend. She was professional. They have exceptional attention to detail and are so creative and original when it comes to executing the final product. I highly recommend working with Kay. She is very responsive, easy to deal with and great at her work. She did a lovely decoration for a graduation party for us. The only thing that wasn't working out so well for us was the light material of the big numbers. Even though they had weights on the bottom, the numbers weren't very sturdy. It was a bit of a problem for our event as it was extremely windy. I never thought about asking Kay about the material as I assumed they'd be in a aluminium or something else sturdy. But overall the display lasted throughout and still looked nice. Thank you Kay, for a job well done.

Garnished Events gets zero stars. My event was scheduled for June 6, and I began planning in April with the owner, Sheena. She assured me she was highly rated and that all I would need to do was show up and enjoy the event. About a week before the event, the problems began. Deadlines were missed, and instead of taking responsibility, Sheena blamed me or my daughter for delays. Key details—DJ coordination, dessert setup, vendor timing, layout, and event setup—were still unresolved. When I asked direct questions, she said she was too busy and blamed me for not following her confusing email threads. I had more than 30 guests traveling from around the world, and I had made it clear that I would not be able to manage planning details close to the event. That was the reason I hired her. By June 5, I was extremely concerned because there were still major gaps in the plan, including layout, arrival times, and caterer coordination. When I called Sheena, she said she was in the field, very busy, and had 11 events the next day. On June 6, the event was scheduled to start at 6 p.m., but Sheena and her crew arrived at 5 p.m. Other vendors had already arrived, and no one was there to coordinate them. With only an hour left, there was still too much to do: decorations, signage, the photo booth, flower wall, cocktail tables, bar setup, and more. I was in tears while trying to help pull everything together. During setup, Sheena was rude to me and my daughter’s friends, who were only trying to help. Her attitude added to the stress, and the setup felt chaotic. Guests arrived at 6 p.m. while setup was still underway. The bar was not ready, signature cocktails were not served, and the event flow we had planned was not followed. Everything was finally set up around 6:45 p.m.—about 45 minutes late. Several planned elements were missed: champagne was not opened, the TV was not set up for games, and the bartender incorrectly told guests that wine and other alcohol had run out even though several bottles were still available. And none of her servers knew what to do since she was in charge. At the end of the event, I asked Sheena for the bags of snacks that were not consumed (I spent close to $100 on these) but they were not given back to me. Garnished Events was also responsible for teardown and cleanup, but they left the space in a mess. When I called Sheena to come back and help, she said she was done. My building charged me $350 for cleaning. Overall, this was an extremely stressful and disappointing experience, and I would not recommend Garnished Events.

I worked with Danielle recently on the decorations for my cousin's baby shower and it was such a pleasure! The baby shower was hosted in D.C. and I live in Atlanta so I was slightly concerned about not being able to coordinate all the planning details in person, but Danielle made the process simple and straightforward. She worked with me from the beginning to determine the budget and stay within it based on our needs. She was also punctual and communicated with me regularly (especially as we got closer to the date of the event). When I finally met Danielle in person, it felt like a I was meeting a longtime friend. She was personable and wasn't easily overwhelmed by a couple of weather hiccups we experienced the day before the baby shower.
