I want to start off by saying it was nice to search for event planners via Thumbtack website and being able to select one that I thought fit the criteria and event request. The fact that I lived in one state and the event planner lived in the state where the event took place was great. However, I felt the planner could have provided more decorations to the baby shower event based on our numerous phone and email communications in reference to the (Theme ~ Winter Wonderland) and actual Invitation provided as a guide. I selected this particular event planner because the way she described what she could provide to make this an awesome shower. I felt the money I spent to the event planner would have provided more decorations. She did mention that this would be her second baby shower event but listening to her talk about it led me to believe she knew about decorating for a baby shower. I felt I paid mostly for her time to be there not for the decorations provided. She eventually charged me a different price than what we initially agreed upon. I paid the final balance due to the lack of time we had to get this event together and I could not get another event planner on such short notice. She told me over the course of several communications she would have some people there to assist her with the decorations but when I arrived to the event she was decorating alone and she mentioned her assistants went to handle another event. She told me previously that we were the only event she and her assistants would be handling that day. I couldn’t tell the event planner what was really on my mind at the time because the Mother-To-Be and guests started to arrive to the event while she was calling herself decorating. I could have bought plastic table clothes and center pieces to put together with cotton balls but I didn’t have the time to decorate the way I wanted too since I was coming from out of town. The hall itself was nice without the decorations but more decorations would have brought our (Theme ~ Wonderland) to life as initially requested. The cake and caterer provided by another vendor really topped it all off. The bottom line I felt I paid for a planner to be there without providing the decorating services as initially requested to fit the (Theme ~ Winter Wonderland).

Not a very professional event planner. I do not believe I received valuable help for the fees I paid. I felt very stressed through the process of planning my event and didn’t feel particularly helped or supported.
