I only took a handful of lessons with Gregg, but I have no complaints with my experience. Gregg is a consummate professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. I came into lessons with a couple years of playing experience, and I was still able to learn some very helpful things in my short time taking lessons with Gregg. I also really appreciated that he had instruments and equipment available in his studio. Lastly, he offered me a favorable rate for signing up via Thumbtack, which I also appreciated. I ultimately went in a different direction, as Gregg mentioned that he might not have the capacity to teach me certain songs from beginning to end. As this is one of my primary learning goals, I switched instructors. Even still, I give credit to Gregg for being upfront and honest with me. Overall, he's a good guy and teacher, and I wouldn't rule out returning to him at some point in the future.(show more)

What do you love about your job?
I absolutely love everything about my job. Music has always been my passion. I decided a few years ago that even if it meant making less money than I was accustomed to, I would devote my career to music. It has paid off in spades as I am the happiest I have ever been and turned my passion into a rewarding business. It really is sometimes surreal to think about where my life is now and where it is going. Teaching is the most rewarding part of all. Seeing my students realize their own potential and make progress in front of my eyes is truly a blessing.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
I worked my way through college as a bartender in Baltimore. Though the pay was good, I never felt any fulfillment. I always knew that I wanted to be involved in music, but it took the encouragement of some very kind local musicians to give me the confidence to take a big step forward. I have always known that I would never be truly fulfilled working for someone else and that I would eventually run my own business. Once I started playing music in bars and teaching lessons, I knew I had found my career. I believe that when you are unrelentingly passionate about something, you cannot fail.
