Wow…so Chris is an amazing professional guitar teacher, as well as a highly talented singer/musician; and having looked for about a month for such a teacher I was worried I wouldn’t find anyone with those qualities so I’m quite relieved I finally did. I am a 43 yr old music geek with a childhood background in piano, and came to him highly motivated with many specific goals and guitar techniques I wanted to learn-despite never having played the guitar before. Now, 6 months later, not only has Chris clearly met me at where my skill level and musical tastes are, he is also really skilled at helping me to stay motivated despite the challenging beginner learning curve of guitar. He is really kind and personable, he gives encouraging verbal feedback, and always makes the lesson enjoyable whether I’m learning theory, techniques, or playing. One special talent he seems to have developed is his way of streamlining/editing common guitar methods to instead more applicable real life playing and convenience. He also knows when to stop you from getting way in over your head with too much theory to not hinder your innate creativity-that to me is so important as I am such an info nerd, but he consistently reminds you of the most important goal – which is to learn how to actually play guitar and hopefully-ultimately to create your own music, and so if that is your goal then he can totally help you get there. Thumbs up.
