I initially spoke with Richard about 6 months before my beach wedding. He had a lot of good ideas and I felt very comfortable. I emailed Richard about 4 months before the wedding just to touch base. He did not answer me. After a week, he did respond to tell me he was out of town and would call upon his return to discuss our ceremony and vows. I did not hear from him---I had to call and email again (now 3 months before the wedding) to find out if he was still interested in performing the ceremony. He said it might be better to find someone else (due to family issues). It was very disappointing to have to reach out multiple times in order to get a response. I do understand things happen that cannot be controlled---but not keeping me informed was wrong.

Richard Esdale did an excellent job officiating our wedding and I couldn't be happier the way it turned out. He had sent us two sets of questionnaires that we kept secret from each other and he used these to write our vows. This was his first same sex marriage and I feel he made it a day I will never forget.
