    Sdoia Satz Institute

    (9 reviews)

I mix fun with work. I encourage students to try their hardest. I teach them how to deal with frustration in a way that works. I love teaching!! Doesn't matter if it's a child or an adult -- I just love teaching. Watching a student go from "I don't know" to "Wow, I can do this." is like watching a flower or a baby grow. To me, watching them grow into understanding is the greatest reward.

    Asami Takeyama

    (5 reviews)

Hello, I'm Asami, a piano/theory instructor and a composer. I usually don't use any existing materials for the beginners. I have my own customized methods and make sure each and every one of my student will understand what the music theory is about. I write simple music down with the student and play it together. It's fun because you get to learn the basics of how to read music, how to write music, and how to play music! I get to do what I love. I learn a lot from students by teaching as well. I love sharing music with them and enjoying playing music with them. I'm grateful for every opportunity to learn music together.

  • Miss Jay's Piano Lessons

    (27 reviews)

My services stand out in many ways. First, I choose to specialize instead of generalize. I want to focus on a specific level of piano that I can teach with excellence and not just teach of bunch of different instruments in a mediocre way. I also strive to make lessons fun and interactive and one of a kind to accommodate each of my students individual needs so they can excel and look forward to having piano lessons. I also make it a point to remember my students birthdays and make them feel special by buying stickers for work well done for my little ones and writing encouraging feedback for my older ones. They love it! What I enjoy most about what I do is being able to help people learn the language of music! I get to teach what I am passionate about to my clients and students and that is so satisfying to me. Music is so important in so many areas of life and helps my students excel in their school work and build a very productive hobby. I love investing in my students and knowing that I am making an impact in their lives not only musically but as a support system. I get to hear about their week and cheer them on and encourage them not only in piano but in life and build relationships with my students. That is so important too me! It is much more than just a business to make money. It is a privilege to teach and give back to others!

She played a Debussy prelude beautifully, and she is now playing all sorts of things [like] Bach, Chopin, Haydn, Debussy, etc, and she will audition for a minor in music at her university. Being able to transmit my knowledge and my passion for music to someone else is for me extremely satisfying.

    Marisol Ibañez Piano Studio

    (8 reviews)

I've been a student of Ms. Ibanez for about 6 years, and in that time I've learned so much about piano; I can truthfully say she is the best piano teacher I have ever had. :) She is incredibly kind, professional, and above all, very knowledgable about music. From her lessons, I've learnt a wide variety of piano music, ranging from Classical to Romantic to Baroque to Impressionist, and with each style it's own flair. It's easy just to play notes, but Ms. Ibanez really taught me how to interpret piano pieces and enjoy learning them. Sometimes I had trouble with certain musical ideas, but she was always very patient and helped me understand them, even when I wasn't quite patient with myself! :P With previous teachers, I learned music theory and for that I am grateful, but from my time with Ms. Ibanez I've really come to understand and experience music as a whole, with all its complexity and the nuances that make it so beautiful. I never thought I'd understand so many different styles of music, let alone play them, so I am really, really happy with the way I play now. :) She taught me not only to play songs, but to truly appreciate what (and why!) I am playing and the principles and techniques I've learned apply not only to pieces I'm learning to play, but also ones I compose as well! :D Truly a fantastic teacher and a lovely person. Whether you're a beginning piano player or someone who has been playing for a while, I would wholeheartedly recommend taking lessons with Ms. Ibanez. I haven't a single complaint and nothing but positive things to say about her! (^ ^)

  • Intermediate Piano Lessons

    C# Piano Studio

    (8 reviews)

Neusa is a gifted piano teacher. She has a way of giving positive encouragement and feedback to the child that is marvelous. Each child progresses at their own rate and even though she has heard these pieces hundreds or thousands of times, she brings energy to each lesson. I started my twins with Neusa because I wanted a Suzuki-inspired method, one which developed the ear. At the same time I know it is important to learn to read at some point, and we are embarking on that. Neusa has a master's degree in piano from the Univ of Miami and she has had a career performing piano as well as teaching piano. Her teaching style reflects her performance experience as well as her knowledge of different piano teaching methods. She is a true gem. A complete professional. My advice is to run, not walk, to Neusa and start your child with lessons! It's a journey worth taking.

  1. #1 Markus Gottschlich

    (12 reviews)

    Diana C.

In only a couple lessons in, I can tell I've found a gem of a teacher. As an adult who studied piano for many years under a few different teachers, I must say that Markus has been the best! He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to skill, yet is able to communicate in a very fun and effective way. In returning back to lessons after a decade, I feel challenged for the first time in many years and have full confidence that he will take me where I want to be. Not all those who can play as well as Markus can teach, but he clearly breaks the mold by way of being a recognized pianist and having an educational spirit. So glad I found him!
