Loved the service!!!! Safe for my pet and family and no more problems from the very first visit!!!! Amazing job and such a nice guy. I loved his work so much I set up an appointment for my sister's place. She loved his work too! We definitely have a family exterminator now that we know we can trust and rely on. For women at home hiring contractors out there...THIS IS YOUR GUY! Adam is very professional, knowledgeable and respectable. You just feel at ease with him. I had tried two other exterminators before Adam to no avail.( To be clear, to no avail was a total understatement! Roach in my oven clock, etc.. understatement!!!) Adam showed up, moved and sprayed and powdered everywhere his first visit. I have not had any pest problems since that first visit over two months ago now! Yeah! I can't recommend Adam Gobert Organix enough!!!!!

Tyler was extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough. He took the time to listen to our concerns and discussed the best options of what needed to be done. With all the options out there for exterminators...we feel very confident in having selected Tyler as ours. We definitely, with highest regards, recommend him.

Benjamin, the owner/technician was wonderful. He spent 1.5 hours explaining to our mother what the procedure would be and how she needed to prepare for his service. He called me in California several times and sent detailed pictures of the damage done by the insects. He guarantees his work for one year whereas other exterminators would only guarantee for 30 days. His daughter runs the office and she was very efficient and respectful. I would highly recommend this service.

I had a couple other places come take a look & give a quote & one of the guys even told us to go with Terminix cuz he felt they were giving us a great deal especially with the guarantee factor cuz not many will give a guarantee when it comes to bedbugs & this is coming from their competition!! Definitely recommend Terminix for any type of extermination!! Thank you guys!! I couldn't be happier with the results!!

I only have one thing to say & that is " outstanding" in every sense of the word! I did not know how bad of a rat infestation I had in my upper attic until mike & Craig came to my rescue! It seems I had a family of rats, that made their home my upper attic! Mike, who came more than once insured me not to worry & that he promised, that he would get rid of my rat infestation, which he did after a week! He made more than one visit & removed some floor insulation , which was infected with rat urine & poop that caused an awful odor, even after exterminating & eliminating the rodents! Once he was sure their were no more, he sealed and closed up all the vents with a commercial grade of wire! As of today, I have very little odor remaining of the rodents & best of all, I have a 5yr warranty knowing I have peace of mind! I would highly, recommend this company all of my neighbors & friends in the South Florida" I want to say mike's knowledge was unbelievable, but most of all he was very understanding & explained in detail the steps that he was going to take to eliminate the problem! I was vey fortunate in finding such a reliable & trust worthy company! Thanks again to mike/Craig ! Don CAPPIELLO DAVIE !

I have had an ongoing problem with rats for eight months months. I have called exterminators, but two companies failed to eradicate the problem. I was told that because I have a dog door, I would just have rats. In desperation I called ProControl Management Services and they came out and immediately set traps. They check the traps every other day and take away the dead rats. They are making progress. Their service is exemplary and their technicians are knowledgeable and pleasant, despite their grim duties. I was with one pest control company--who failed to solve my problem--for over 40 years. It goes without saying, ProControl will be my exterminators of choice for rats, bugs, and termites from now on. Woke up to scratching sounds in attic and new we had a rat or a squirrel. Did a google map search and found Balistreri Pest Service. The owner took my call at 7:10am and he was at my house by 8:20am... WOW!! He set some traps. Afterwards, he walked the property and sealed the A/C chase which was the point of entry along with another A/C chase at other side of house and a couple of drain lines. Very thorough work. My current exterminator company (that I couldn't reach) never took the initiative. Next month they are out and Balistreri is in. Shared my story with my neighbor and he also changing. Have to admit, I got lucky picking a name from Google but worked out very well. Rat was trapped, rodent bait boxes set, house sealed tight so able to sleep again. Highly recommend!!

I had a terrible infestation of bedbugs. They started in my room and ended up in the entire apartment. O'Hara had professional exteriminators come to my apartment on the day I requested, at the time I was available. These exterminators were extremely knowledgable, answering any and all questions I had, and had a high level of customer service. These guys even wiped their feet on the doormat before walking in. Also, they understood these bedbugs were an urgent matter for me and took care of the problem immediately. As a college student, the price was affordable too.

I posted and had a response with a 10am appointment almost immediately. The pest control product is safe for humans and dogs to remain in the home during treatment. I’ve noticed many dead ants (yay!) and time will tell how effective the outdoor treatment is. I found a few cockroaches which prompted me to hire an exterminator. I haven’t seen any in the house since treatment 2 days ago. They guarantee to come back if needed for no charge in the first weeks and that gives me peace of mind.

After trying a handful of the ‘major name brands’ and left disappointed from finding out their sometimes ineffective use of chemicals put me out to task myself with someone to 1) get the job done right 2) be effective and 3) BE RELIABLE. All of the 3 were answered when Greg Zapp became our exterminator. We are pretty tidy people and could not understand a few days after the ‘other guys’ treated our home, we were calling them back... that all ended when we went with Greg. Thank you for paying attention and thanks for the EXCELLENT service!

I needed an exterminator right away. Ahman Dunn came out but unfortunately it was raining that day so he did the inside and is coming back to finish the outside. My dogs are safe.

As a building manager on Jupiter Island, bugs are not an option. When I was hired in 2004, I immediately fired the existing exterminator, and after going through 3 more companies, I finally found the right company. Everyone I have recommended them to, have also been extremely satisfied.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How do you get bed bugs and how do you get rid of them?

The increase in bed bug infestations in the U.S. is a result of increased travel, lack of knowledge about preventing infestations, increased resistance of bed bugs to pesticides, and ineffective pest control practices, explains the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It’s easy to mistake bed bugs for carpet beetles or similar-looking bugs, so infestations are often not noticed when they first occur. Prevention tips include keeping areas free of clutter, regularly washing sheets and mattress covers in hot water (and don’t forget to wash the laundry bag, too), and vacuuming regularly and safely disposing of the sealed vacuum bag. Not everyone has reactions to bed bug bites, which also may be mistaken for the bites of other pests such as mosquitoes, so timely bed bug extermination depends on identification of bed bug activity. If you notice physical signs of an infestation, contact a bed bug extermination professional as soon as possible to learn about chemical and non-chemical (such as heat) treatment options. An integrated pest management plan may incorporate one or more methods.

How do you get rid of termites?

The best way to get rid of termites is to act fast. Termites are a problem that will only get worse — and no matter how much you want them to, they usually don’t magically move out on their own. There are three main types of termites: drywood, dampwood and subterranean. Drywood and dampwood termites sneak through cracks in your exterior paint, nail holes, and gaps near windows and other openings and begin to eat through your wood. Subterranean termites enter your house from the ground up by creating mud tunnels. In all cases, they survive by eating the wood of your house. The type of termites you have can steer the treatment plan.

Methods of termite extermination include fumigation, use of pesticides, and use of natural elements that are poisonous to the bugs. The extent of your termite infestation will help determine the treatment method. If you have drywood or dampwood termites that have infiltrated all aspects of the wood in your home, the pest control pro may recommend enclosing the whole house in a tent and gassing the termites via fumigation. If you have subterranean termites, often the entire footprint of the home must be treated by drilling liquid treatments into the slab or foundation of the home to exterminate the colonies. In any case, once you see signs of termites, it’s time to take action and call a pest pro.

What are the signs of termites in your home?

When you see signs of termites in your home, call a trusted pest control professional as soon as possible to handle the situation. Termites feed on wood, meaning they eat through the wood that makes up the frame, floors and other components of your house. Most people don’t know they have termites until they discover the damage done, because termites remain hidden underground or inside the wood they are eating. Keep on the lookout for these signs of termites:

  • Water bubbles in your interior or exterior paint: If you poke at what look like paint bubbles and find termite droppings inside, it’s a sign of termite infestation.
  • Frass: This is a fancy term for termite poop. Keep your eyes peeled for what look like six-sided salt and pepper droppings.
  • Mud tubes: Subterranean termites move between their earth home and your house by building mud tunnels. Mud tubes under or along the side of your house or foundation are a sure sign of a termite infestation.
  • Wings or swarming near your home: As a new colony is looking for a home, they fly (swarm), then shed their wings and burrow into nearby wood.
  • Softening of wood or hollowed-out wood: Termites don’t like paint, lacquer varnish or other wood finishes, so they’ll eat inside the wood and leave the exterior finish like a shell.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.
