I have been taking voice lessons from Karen for about a year and a half now and she is, by far, the best vocal coach I have had to date. She is extremely dedicated to her work and stresses the importance of good technique in every lesson. Karen is personable and has many connections within the local music industry so she always knows what competitions and auditions are being held in town. She encourages all of her students to further their talents in an extremely professional manner. Highly recommend!

I have been working with Kevin for a few months now and have really enjoyed my sessions. He is very flexible and really pays attention to my interests/style. I look forward to many more sessions and the ability to play a few songs with good skill in the future. I have done in-person lessons as well as video sessions and both have been great. It's nice to have the different options. Kevin is awesome!

Kristen is THE BEST. She has made me feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. She has a unique way of explaining concepts and ideas that makes learning very easy. She makes each practice practical. You can tell she really knows her craft and also that she cares, and wants you to learn and understand. I've had lessons from others in the past, and never learned anything. But with only three lessons so far, I've learned more with Kristen than 3 years in music lessons. I think that she has a true calling and passion in teaching. She listens and personalized her lessons to your specific goals. I am truly finding my own unique voice with each lesson. I'm excited each time we meet and I get better each time! I highly recommend anyone, of any age to work with Kristen.

Maria Yerdon is an amazing teacher of both voice and piano. I have had experience with many music professionals, and taught both music and piano myself. It is Ms. Yerdon whom I seek out to further continue my own personal learning and development. Her passion for music is contagious and she conveys that to each and every student, no matter their experience level. It is energizing to learn from her, because she has a way of communicating hard to understand concepts in a way that makes them achievable to master. I value her as both a teacher and mentor.

I immediately felt a change in my voice after just a few lessons with Ms. Karen. She is an excellent teacher, and works very professionally. With her guidance, I have expanded my range greatly and have learned many different styles of singing. I have been able to work out certain "kinks" in my voice that I'd had for ages as well. Last November, I gained a superior rating at the district Solo and Ensemble festival-- which I could not have gotten without Karen's valuable help and experience. Additionally, I have received a part in my school's musical with her assistance for my audition piece. I am very comfortable around her and I put much trust into her work. She is a very kind woman, and I feel like I can achieve anything with my voice because of her. Karen cares so much for all of her students and I am extremely gracious that I have Ms. Karen for a teacher.

Kevin has an amazingly obvious love for music and for his students as well. His high energy and good humor, makes students of any level feel comfortable and relaxed. Not only is he a phenomenal singer, he has a great talent for understanding what your overall goals are with your lessons. He knows the voice and I think that is the strongest quality in a vocal teacher. Thank you Kevin, you are wonderful to work with.

    About

As a teacher, I focus equally on formal technique and personal expression. Mastering correct form provides the foundation, upon which a student's capacity for the latter may grow. I view our time together as an opportunity to encourage musical and personal growth. My goal is to encourage discipline while fostering creativity. Maintaining the student's interest by adapting my teaching methods to every individual is an important focus, as is engaging the student by allowing him/her choice in the material we learn in lessons. This not only facilitates a cooperative environment, but also allows me to tailor my teaching style to the student's interests, strengths, and learning preferences. My tuition for private instructions are as follows: * 30 minutes for $25 * 45 minutes for $37.50 * 60 minutes for $50 I believe music theory is an important focus for a student to understand how tones relate to each other in any piece of music. These relationships will be explored aurally, visually, and tactilely in all lessons. In teaching, my goal is to encourage students to learn and grow independently. In my studio (or your home), mistakes are opportunities for improvement. For the duration of our lesson, you (or your child) are in a nurturing zone of freedom of expression. Join me in an exploration of personal talent and creativity. About

My name is Jeff Althouse, and I am the founder and owner of Mr. Jeff’s Music Academy. I have been teaching music privately and in group settings for over twenty years. I enjoy sharing my ideas on how to successfully master an instrument with all age groups. I believe that the education of the student is the first priority, not the retail environment or the sale. My staff and I offer instruction on all instruments. I offer 30-minute lessons which cost $22.00 per number of lessons in the month. Hence, if there are four lessons in a month, the fee is $88.00; if there are five in a month, the fee is $110.00. Books are not included. There is also a one time $25 registration fee. Payment for lessons is due in advance on the first lesson of each month for the following month. All fees paid are non-refundable. Though it is not recommended, single lessons may be booked at the rate of $20.00 per half hour. Weekly students have priority on available times. The time scheduled for each student’s lesson is reserved for his or her exclusive use; rescheduling is not guaranteed. Notification by the student of inability to attend a private lesson does not excuse payment for the lesson which must be paid for, whether taken or missed. Unavoidable absences will be made up when possible and if common courtesies of notification were followed. If the lesson is not made up in 30 days, the student will get 11$ credit on next months tuition.
