We had our first dance lesson last night with Coppelia and could not have been happier with our experience. Neither of us has ever danced and we are way beyond the age of easy movement, yet Coppelia made us feel at ease and we learned a lot. Most of all, we had a truly enjoyable experience - it was so much fun! - and cannot wait to return next week. In addition to being a truly talented dancer, Coppelia is warm and friendly and you get the clear impression she wants you to enjoy dance and movement for yourself. Her studio is warm and inviting and the personal attention we received was unbelievable. She taught to our needs (and believe me we are starting at the most basic level) and made both of us feel like we had the ability to dance. I would recommend Coppelia to anyone - she will not disappoint! We are looking forward to working with her on a regular basis.

Atlanta Learn to Dance and Charles Cuthbert were lifesavers for me, my now husband, and dad. Charles accommodated our schedules and location and ensured that we felt more than comfortable with our first dances. His coaching style was encouraging and supportive, while holding us to a very professional standard. Our dances turned out better than we all expected thanks to our work with Charles!

"TJ" and 1 Step Above goes above and beyond to ensure that we as students meet our goals and stretch us to learn more. My husband and I used him for our wedding dance and as guest entertainment and he was a hit! If you're looking for camaraderie, exercise, social activities, community building, Detroit ballroom, line dancing, Chicago stepping, competitive dancing, wedding dance instruction, or all of the above, I highly recommend 1 Step Above!

Rita is wonderful! We are already on our second 90 minute lesson and in two sessions we've learned MORE than eight hour lessons in a typical dance studio that we initially tried.

Natasha Maughan taught my son when he was 2 years old. every Saturday he looked forward to her dance lessons. he jumped for the first time in her class and every time we drive near where the dance studio is, he remembers, points to it and comments that he use to dance there with 'Aunty Tasha'. He was 8 last birthday and still remembers his amazing dance teacher.

My son and I had a private dance lesson today with Kristy to help us prepare for our Mother-Son dance at his upcoming wedding - it was fabulous!! We were pretty awkward at first, but Kristy quickly put us at ease and by the end we were doing all kinds of turns! It was so much fun and really helped us - Kristy was well prepared with our song and had some great idea - we are both so glad we went!!

How much do dance lessons cost?

Adults who want to learn to dance, whether to prepare for a wedding or to meet new people, often enjoy taking dance lessons from an experienced dance instructor. Instructors may offer classes one-on-one to individual students or couples, or to small groups. The national average cost for a dance instructor ranges from $30 to $50. Some studios offer a discounted introductory lessons or group lessons, as well as package deals that are more affordable than paying for individual lessons. Some dance instructors will travel to the student’s home, which usually costs more, while others hold small-group sessions in their studios.
