He exceeded our expectations, we were prepared for replacement of water heater but he came and repaired it at much lower cost and warrantied his repair. He also took care of 3 toilets and replaced the garbage disposal. Repairs we thought we would have to schedule for a later time based on the expected cost of the water heater. I am running upstairs now to take a HOT shower. I highly recommend his services.

I had a great experience with this company. Thomas was professional, efficient and educated me along the way about what he was doing. He also gave me a quick lesson on how the wiring works throughout my electrical box, explaining amps and voltage and how it relates to the appliances I use in my kitchen. Being a new and first time homeowner, this info was quite helpful. I will certainly call them again when the need arises in the future.

I could not be happier with my service. First I have got to say both Thumbtack and Appliance Repair Solution of Atlanta were great. I stumbled upon Thumbtack trying to find companies that service and repair dryers. Thumbtack of course led me to Appliance Repair Solution of Atlanta and I will certainly use them for future service and repairs. They schedule the service fast, got to my house at the earliest part of the estimated time, fixed my issue quickly, put the area back together quickly, and even better is I felt like I underpaid for the service. Thank you again to Thumbtack and Appliance Repair Solution of Atlanta!!!

I called last week about my refrigerator that just wouldn’t defrost. The office employee i had the pleasure off speaking with was professional and understanding. I might have come off a little frustrated at the time but she was super patient with me. They ordered What I needed and assured me it would be in within 24 hours. Finish the repair within time. I would totally have recommended these guys to anyone looking for a quick and professional company.

Mariam Reyes has come twice to my home. Once for several simple repairs (installing ceiling fan, installing new light fixture, hanging heavy wall art, door repair) and once to repair ceiling damage on our basement roof from a toilet leak on the level above. Work was done correctly and at a fair price. He’s definitely our go to when we need stuff done around here that I’m not capable of!

They were a pleasure to have around working on the project. It was a good size project with roofing, siding, other exterior work and interior work, i.e. painting, ceiling repairs, door installations and etc. They stayed busy until it was time to clean-up and quit for the day. No up-sell and honest. We will definitely hire them again. I Highly recommend.

My Appliance Guy was great; he was very courteous, knowledgeable, and thorough during his initial visit. He went over all cost for the job prior to ordering parts to fix the issue. Highly recommended for any appliance issues, repairs, and installations.

Alex responded quickly and arrived at my elderly Mom's house the same day. He ordered a part and came back to install it. After spending hours working on the appliance and installing the part he concluded that the refrigerator was beyond repair. He refused payment and returned the part at no charge. That's an honest professional. We will call him first the next time we need an appliance repaired.

Mr. Taylor was kind, on time, and very knowledgeable, he had been here for a dishwasher repair prior to the refrigerator complaint, so I was happy that the warranty company sent him again. We would use him without a warranty contract for our appliance needs.

CC Appliance did a fantastic job repairing my kitchen refrigerator ice maker. Very fast response. Also cleaned vents to improve performance and save money. Also very knowledgeable in home automation and smart home. Installed a water sensor to help monitor if something leaks to my smartphone. Avoided one problem thanks to the smart sensor already. Will definitely use him again.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who fixes refrigerators?

Typically, appliance repair technicians who offer refrigeration repair also work with washers, dryers, dishwashers and other household appliances. While there is no formal training required to be an appliance repair technician, consider certification requirements, as the technician should know how to safely work with refrigerants (the chemical that keeps your fridge cold) and substitute refrigerants such as HFCs. You should also read reviews to get a sense of the pro’s experience and reputation. The appliance repair pro will come to your home, bringing all the necessary tools for diagnosis. They may need to order parts to complete the job, but all the work will take place in your home. For more, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
