Scott was very friendly, quick to respond. His crew performed work very quick and well. The only issue was that stump grinding was outsourced to another contractor who took more than a month to come and never finished the job. If you stick to Scott's doing tree removal without stump grinding, you should be pleased.

I was looking for someone to do routine yard maintenance at my new house but I needed a 100 foot tall dead tree taken down first. It was a monster tree. Gerardo did a fantastic job getting the tree down at a very good price. It was a difficult job and he was very professional and is a nice person to work with.

Daniel is an amazing individual. Completely professional and is willing to go the extra mile. I had 0 issues with the service and what was originally supposed to be a single tree removal turned into an entire back yard re-landscaping job. His crew showed up on time and ready to work and even cleaned up after themselves which is something you rarely get with services like this. His prices are fair and he treated my yard like it was his own. If I had more trees to remove, I would definitely use him again!

Marcus and his crew responded in a timely fashion to my service request (picture included), and quoted me a reasonable price and honored that price when he got there. He and his crew promptly went to work on removing the tree that had fallen in front of our home, they cleaned up and hauled the tree parts away. Although they weren't the cheapest quote I received, I picked them based on Marcus' phone presence and the many positive reviews he received. They did exactly what we needed them to do. I'd definitely use them again.

I've used clean cut lawn service twice this month. My yard has many sweet-gum trees and requires sweet-gum removal as well as weed eating. The final result both times was a job well done. I will continue to use CCLS for maintaing my lawn.

We highly recommend DYG Landscaping! Daniel is thorough in his quotes. He actually comes out to measure and evaluate the job versus trying to save time and do through pictures like other companies wanted us to do. I was impressed by his honesty; he did not try to sell us products that we did not need (some sod areas did need a little top soil and others did not). He is very professional, has competitive prices, and has excellent customer service. Daniel responds to questions quickly. He and his crew show up on time, work hard, do beautiful work, are respectful of property, clean up, and have the proper equipment. We have had Daniel and his crew do sod installation 2 times (one time 2 1/2 pallets were installed in 3 areas of our yard {one side of house, a section near top of driveway, and a difficult area around a tree in front yard} and most recently 10 pallets in our back yard). Not just supervising the installation, Daniel actually works with the crew for the whole job. All sod areas have grown and done well. Each service/interaction was equally as good as the first. We would not hesitate to hire him again.

I worked with All Pro Tree Service to cut down a tree in the backyard of my rental property and I was very impressed with the job they did. Their communication, the cleanup, and most importantly their quote. I had a second company go out prior to them and Allpro's quote came in exceptionally better! I have worked with several tree removal companies in GA and they are hands down one of the best! Thanks for everything!

Mario just finished up at my place not 20 minutes ago and did absolutely amazing. I had a huge area of brush that was covering a huge stump and he got everything taken care of, as well as got the brush down to the street for me so the city could take it. I just got in contact with him yesterday and he was able to get the job day today which I greatly appreciated. He was very hard working and after we did a walk through of what I needed he got right to work. I had a few little stumps added and he was able to adjust the quote on the spot. If I ever need *any* brush/stump removal again I’m 100% calling Mario. Thank you!!

I inquired about pricing due to the snowstorm that knocked trees into my yard. I had a few estimates before Pro Landscaping arrived but Wyatt Chavez was great to work with and reasonably priced. His team was prompt and efficient. I highly recommend using their services. They made the job quick and easy and I'm thankful for their help. Great job.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to trim a tree?

The national price range for tree trimming is $270-$450. Tree trimming is often done by a professional arborist who is trained to safely trim and prune trees for both the health of the tree and the safety of the residents and their property. Trying to do your own tree trimming is not advisable unless you have the proper know-how. Tree trimming companies may charge an hourly rate for their services. The hourly rate may be higher or lower for different trees to reflect the relative safety measures, skill, equipment or people power needed to handle the job. For this reason, most tree services provide free estimates.

One example of an hourly rate for professional tree trimming services is $150 per hour. Costs may be under $100 or could be higher than $300 per hour, depending on variables such as proximity to buildings, health of the tree, height and diameter of the tree, and type of tree trimming desired. Geography and regional cost of living and regional costs to do business will also play a role in your tree removal costs.

How much does it cost to remove a tree stump?

Once you have a tree cut down, you’ll probably want to remove the tree stump as well. You may want the stump removed for aesthetics, the tree stump could be diseased, you might want to prevent regrowth, or you may find the roots are causing problems and need to be removed. Tree removal costs don’t always include the cost to grind out or dig out a tree stump after the tree has been felled and the trunk removed. The national average cost for stump removal ranges from $150 to $200. There are two main methods for dealing with tree stumps. In grinding, pros use a chipping machine to grind away the above-level tree stump until it sits just below the soil surface. Tree stump removal entails lifting the entire root ball of a tree out of the soil. Removing the stump will leave a hole in the ground and also take more time, labor and money than stump grinding. Here are some examples of average tree stump removal costs:

  • Stump grinding: $2-$4 per inch.
  • Tree stump removal: average of $60-$350.

The final price will depend on the stump’s size, condition, location and condition of the soil around it.

How much does it cost to remove a fallen tree?

If you need to have a tree cut down, have you planned what will happen next? Arborists often charge an additional fee to quarter and remove the fallen tree from your property, so anticipate this as part of your tree removal costs. You can elect to have the wood cut for use in your fireplace, or you may prefer to have it hauled away completely.

Tree removal costs may vary based on the height and the width of the felled tree. Size affects the labor required for removal, which will be reflected in the cost. For example, a tree service company may charge an additional $100-$120 to haul away the pieces of a felled tree. The service may cost as little as $75 in some regions and more than $150 in others. Regional labor rates, the cost of living and the cost to do business in your area will be reflected in your tree removal cost.

How much does it cost to cut a tree down?

When you’re ready to have a tree on your property come down, it’s time to call an arborist. The national average price range for tree-trimming costs is $270-$450. Tree removal costs can vary based on the height, diameter, location and health of the tree, and on whether you want to remove the stump. Height plays a major role in tree removal costs. Small trees, no more than 30 feet tall, are usually thinner in diameter and easier and safer for an arborist to manage. Removal of a small tree can cost anywhere from under $150 to over $450. Removal of medium-height trees, from 30 feet to 60 feet tall, could cost anywhere between $150 and $850 or more. Tall trees, typically 60 feet to 80 feet tall, may start at $500 or cost more than $1,000 to cut down. As the height and diameter increase, so does the cost.

Location is critical, too. Removing a tree in an open space is quicker and presents fewer obstacles than removing a tree that is growing flush to your house. Arborists can assess your tree and provide you with quotes based on the variables involved. For example, removing a medium-size hackberry tree that was growing too close to a home — the roots were damaging the home’s foundation — cost $1,500. This price included rope-down, house protection, tree quartering and stacking, and stump removal.

How much does it cost to cut down a massive tree?

If you have to remove a big, beautiful tree from your property, you’ll definitely need an arborist. Cutting down a massive tree without the proper tools or training can lead to major property damage or injury. A huge tree may need to be removed if it is diseased or dying and poses a safety risk, has suffered a blow from a storm and isn’t safe, or is growing into your home, your home’s foundation, your septic system, or your power lines. Removal costs for such large trees will depend on the tree’s height, diameter, and relative safety and accessibility, as well as whether you also need the felled tree and stump removed. The bare minimum for removal of a tree over 75 or 80 feet would be $1,000. This may not include tree quartering and removal or stump grinding. Stump grinding ranges on average from $2 to $4 per inch of the stump’s diameter. There is no set price as each situation is unique, so it’s always best to have an arborist give you a quote and detail exactly which services are included in the price.
