I needed somebody to come to a home inspection on the house we are purchasing last minute when another inspector cancelled. I got a call from Erik Alstad within minutes of typing in my information on Thumbtack. (This was late at night mind you). I told him our situation and he was eager to work with us and was able to come out the very next day! He arrived early even before the time we were suppose to meet and met with our realtor and started working right away. He pays attention to detail and even brought a folding table, chairs, and a basket full of drinks and snacks for us to enjoy while he worked. He gave us a lot of helpful advice and answered any questions we my husband and I had. He also gives you a detailed report that same night! I'd recommend him to anybody. He was so nice and professional we all loved him.
My husband and I requested a quote from Kris on a home we were seeking to purchase as an investment property. He was very professional and was able to schedule an appointment for us at the last minute. He walked us through and educated us on the renovation processes we were looking at and even provided advice on things we needed to bring to the attention for inspection. We decided not to purchase the home, because there were a lot of hidden repairs needed that would supersede what the home was worth and we thank Kris for his expertise that helped us make an informed decision. We will definitely be contacting him again when we select another investment property!
James has worked for me off and on for several years. I can always trust that he will do what he says and try to get me the best price on materials and work. He lets you know when he is going to come and I trust him enough to give him a key to my vacation condo. He lets me know when he is finished and makes sure that everything is locked up, lights off and air conditioner turned to right temp. He wants his work to be done right and will work until it is. His wife is a good helper to him on occasion and can be trusted also. He located a Mildew cleanup person for me and negotiated the price and materials to my satisfaction. Afterwards, he checked and rechecked to make sure the job was final. He and his wife cleaned the place to spic and span after the work was finished of washing down walls and cleaning each and every item in the condo. If I ever have a problem with something that he has not done or didn't do correctly, he is right back as soon as possible to redo and make it right. He wants very much to build a business with his skills of project manager and handy man knowledge that is competitive in the vacation home and residential and commercial market. He wants a good reputation that will build and make his business last for decades. If he cannot do something, he will find someone who can. Therefore he tries harder than some people I have had do work for me. I think you can trust him to do what he says he will and try to please you with his work. He has worked in construction almost all his adult life, so therefore has access to materials and other workers. If you ever have a problem, a conversation with him usually clears up the matter quickly. I wish him good luck and many new clients in his future.
The inspection was comprehensive and insightful. Joe took a great deal of time to explain all the findings and the significance of each. He provided me a sense of confidence in my pending purchase and a plan for correcting the minor issues identified. He was professional, knowledgeble, timely and efficient.
Great job on taking out wall

About Me -- John Ellenbecker Not only have I owned multiple homes, but I also know how a home works. I have 10 years as a construction supervisor for one of America's largest home builders. I have personally walked hundreds of homes in different phases of construction, from slab to final closing. I also have a history in industrial and home maintenance as well as pest control. I am also a proud graduate of A Better School of Building Inspections and licensed by the state of South Carolina with license #2550. The Company I decided to start Perfection Inspection LLC when the construction industry dropped out in late 2006. I knew it was only a matter of time before sales would pick back up. In the last several years while I was a construction supervisor, I saw the shoddy workmanship that was being accepted as a standard. As your home inspector, I will be also be looking for this same workmanship, as well as any normal wear issues. I inspect every home as if it were my own.
