Gigi consulted with me several times before my wedding trip to Hawaii and I felt completely at ease that she would take excellent care of me and my bridal party. She confirmed with me 2 days in advance and arrived at my hotel early to set up. She calmed my nerves and worked her expert skills on me to exceed my expectations for how I hoped to look at my wedding. She was wonderful with my Maid of Honor and my young granddaughter, and they could not have been happier! We all felt amazing and are so thankful we had Gigi to prepare us for this special event.

I was a little skeptical at first when considering. I didn’t realize how much work it really is to plan a wedding! I figured I would order some flowers, taste some food and buy a dress. I was wrong! Just going to taste cakes was on ordeal. After going to 5 different bakers one Saturday I decided it was time to find a planner. I asked a friend of mine if she had any recommendations and Chavah’s name came up. She was so nice. I had several questions and she answered them all and even sent me a list of vendors for caterers that she recommended without me even hiring her. I figured if she was that helpful without me hiring her I can’t imagine what she could do when I signed the contract. She really helped by keeping me informed and giving me tips about where there may be hidden costs (did you know caterers charge a cake-cutting fee?) and showed me other ways so cut costs without compromising the look I wanted. I was amazed at how much some vendors cost! My original contract for alcohol was $2,800 but we cut almost $600 by going with a different vendor and having signature drinks which I never would have thought of and all of the guests loved them. I was so happy we decided to go with them. They definitely made it easy. Best Wedding Planner EVER!!!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Carlos be a part of our wedding last weekend. He assumed two roles for our wedding celebration, both as the DJ and MC. I would highly recommend having Carlos do both of these tasks for you. He was an amazing MC and kept the celebration going without any awkward pauses or dull moments. His experience was very evident in how he interacted with the audience and in his supportive and encouraging demeanor. Before the wedding, Carlos was simply excellent both personally and professionally. While preparing for the wedding, all communication was immediate, polite, and reflected a willingness to cooperate and support whatever was necessary to execute a memorable celebration. He would suggest a program format and would accommodate our song choices wherever a specific song was indicated. He also took our wedding time schedule into consideration and willingly set up his equipment and offered his music way before his scheduled time. When Carlos arrived at the venue, he was well dressed and gently rejected our offer to join us for dinner. He reasoned that he had a job to do and that he had already prepped by having his dinner beforehand. Then it was time for the grand entrance of the bridal party and his voice boomed with enthusiasm and confidence. He guided the evening from the beginning to the end per the wedding schedule and accommodated the speakers and the dancing guests however he could. We valued and welcomed his work ethic and personal and professional conduct and would consider hiring him again in a heartbeat. Heartfelt appreciation Carlos!

Analisa was wonderful to work with. I got both my hair and makeup done by Analisa. I highly recommend getting a mini session done with her to go over the look you want to create. We made a few minor tweaks, and everything looked wonderful for both my bridals and my wedding day!

We had a fantastic experience using Something New for our Day-Of Coordination for our recent wedding at Kualoa Ranch. Charelle was fun to work with, organized, easy to communicate with and a wealth of knowledge for every question I had in the lead-up to the wedding. She met with us the week before the wedding and also ran our rehearsal for our bridal party the day before the wedding, which helped everyone feel confident for the ceremony the next day. The wedding day itself went by flawlessly -- Charelle and her assistant Jillian did a great job managing all the vendors and we were able to stick to the timeline without any delays. Having the two of them there coordinating everything definitely helped me stay calm and enjoy the wedding day instead of worrying about things. We received so many compliments from our guests on what a smooth day it was, resulting in a fantastic wedding everyone enjoyed. Initially I was on the fence about hiring a wedding coordinator but my husband and I think it was one of the best decisions we made! Thank you Something New for doing an incredible job and making sure our wedding day was perfect!

I like scenic views of Hawaii and I had great experiences with I Do Wedding & Beauty Hawaii. I was satisfied with their makeup, hair, and photos of me and my hubby. I was not a very good model, but if I can do it again, I will make better pose. haha. I know that the prices in Hawaii is expensive, but if you compare with the price of wedding photos in Korea, I Do Wedding has reasonable packages. You will have fantastic views of Hawaii on your photos. I hope you do not miss the chance with I Do Wedding & Beauty Hawaii. However, if you want to have photos with different dresses, you need to pay more or there would be another packages, such as snap photos. I wanted to take a pictures with different dresses, but I could not. Hawaii is a good place with all of nice views, and I Do Wedding & Beauty Hawaii has a good team for wedding photos and experiences. Feel free to call and ask them about your wedding plan. The manager/consultant who is a makeup artist and hair artist is very kind and professional. Enjoy your wedding in Hawaii.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

      • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
      • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
      • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
      • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
      • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
      • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
      • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
      • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
      • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

      What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

      • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
      • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
      • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
      • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do you have a portfolio? Ask to see photos of their favorite weddings, especially if they’ve managed any that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you see if you like their style and if their ideas seem fresh and creative.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

      • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
      • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
      • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
      • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.
      • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
      • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.

Even if you don’t think you need a wedding coordinator, check with your venue. Some require that couples hire a day-of wedding coordinator for the day of the event.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
