Ramil is a very nice guy and was willing to accommodate our schedule. He and his crew showed up on time, but we were put off by the constant assurance of what a great job they would do. I guess people who sing their own praises irritate me. Our house is cluttered, but other than the stove it was not exceptionally dirty. At first glance when we returned home, everything looked and smelled good, but upon closer inspection we kept finding areas that were missed. There remained thick dust in several areas of the bedrooms, the wall behind the master bathroom door had not been cleaned, and an end table wasn't even wiped off. We paid $240 extra to have a very dirty oven cleaned and the windows and screens washed. The oven looked good, but the window over the bed was not washed, and it still had tape residue. That windowsill is one of the places that had thick dust. They did an ok job, but not the fantastic one we expected.

Hector helped me with new wiring for ceiling fan and light fixtures; changing locks and door knobs; replacing pole in closets; bathroom rods; curtain rods; installing vanity/cabinet. Hector is professional and very knowledgeable in what he does. He is excellent on timeline and I couldn't have asked for more. His rate is very reasonable and he goes beyond what I had asked for him to do without any complaints or asked to be paid more. I would highly recommend his service and would definitely rehire him for any future projects.

This husband and wife duo is the truth!!! Between the both of them, I haven't found anything they can't get done!! From vehicles, to interior paint jobs, landscaping, carpeting, laying tile, roofing, you name it!!!! The best part is, it's all authentic unlike many companies you run acrosss that break this to fix that (y'all know what I mean)..Justin and Cortney are amazing at everything they put their hands to!

Mario did a great job on all of our projects from installing cabinets and building a storage shed to drywall, painting, concrete leveling, and installing vinyl and hardwood flooring. He is punctual, conscientious, well-mannered, and friendly. His experience and attention to finish detail really shows by the quality work he produces. The best way to really know the truth of what a client thinks of a contractor is if they hire him again. And we already have hired Mario to continue working on our on-going remodeling projects. My mom even created a new project for Mario to do: build a small home for her two little dogs!

I would like to give my highest recommendation for Andrew Calma. I met Andrew about ten years ago when he was working for Consolidated Painting and they were painting a dementia care facility that I was building. When I needed to have my house painted I contacted the manager of the painting company to see if they could help me. Because they did not do residential projects he referred me to Andrew to do the job as a side project. Since then, Andrew has painted the exterior of my house two times and painted the interior once. He also did quite a bit of extra work to remove a lot of rusty nails and such that have deteriorated over the last 14 years. Andrew is honest, dependable, knowledgeable and hard working. My wife and I have two young girls. I trust Andrew and his crew to be in my house with my family when I'm not home and I trust him to work in my house when nobody is home. I have also found the other painters that assist Andrew to be courteous and professional. I have found Andrews prices to be very reasonable for the quality of work that is provided. I plan to continue to use him as long as he is providing this service. Andrew is a great resource.

Eric is always highly responsive, does great quality work, takes his time, is friendly and fun to have around while always remaining professional. He is our household ‘s #1 go-to person for any issues or projects and we are finally getting a handle on the many things that need to be done for home maintenance. His services are highly appreciated. We have had a great variety of things done for our household. From painting to mold prevention/remediation/problem solving to carpentry to basic plumbing to laying hard wood floor. For each of these projects Eric consulted on and helped to guide the decision making as well as carrying out the direct tasks. We highly recommend All Phases Green!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I've searched high and low for someone to do some drywall work, minor home repairs, painting (Interior/Exterior) & also yard work all within a reasonable price and on such short notice being that I had an inspection coming up, a friend referred me to Bronson from J and B Painting And Drywall! I contacted him & received a quick response, his approach was professional, he did a free on-site estimate, worked with my budget and was ready to get the job at my convenience! Not only did he reassure me that the work being done would be done with quality, he also got the job done within a short time frame! 2 weeks later I had my inspection and it passed! Thanks again, YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! Mahalo, Shy R.

Contacted Kaipo Rodrigues re garding an exterior painting estimate for my two story residence, and he came out the following day (on a Saturday) to survey the work requirements and provided an estimate three days later. In spite of the effects of Hurricane Lane, he managed to schedule the Work the following week, a response I greatly appreciated. His four man crew pressure washed, primed, and applied dual exterior top coatings for the house, and an elastomeric coating for the exposed deck in a clean and professional manner. Used four men on the job which was completed in three days, and at a great price. The crew traveled all the way from Wahiawa to Hawaii Kai, and was ready to start work by 7:30 am each morning. Am very happy with the results. Neighbors also appreciated the efforts made by the crew to cover neighbors' autos in the proximity of the work as protection, just in case, since spray paint techniques were used for efficient paint applications.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
