Blake is meeting with my 11 year old son weekly and teaching him the acoustic guitar. My son loves working with him and is always excited on lesson day. Blake has a style that encourages my son to be excited about the guitar without feeling pressure. Blake wants it to be fun...otherwise, what is the point? Blake has also given me good advice on my son's guitar to make if more comfortable (guitar and string adjustments). All around a great experience and I wouldn't change a thing.

Taking lessons with Ana was my first guitar lesson experience. She creates a very supportive and relaxed atmosphere which was helpful for me to find focus. She plays beautifully and I personally found her classical training to be of benefit. I was delightfully surprised that after only a few lessons and no previous training I was able to read and play the lessons in short order. Ana helped me to build my confidence and she was very flexible when it came to life interrupting lesson schedules. I had to put lessons on hold but I can't wait to sit down again with Ana. This girl has a passion for music and it comes through with each lesson. Thanks Ana!

Our first consultation went great. His approach is exactly what I'm looking for. He gave me some good advice on buying a guitar too, and I'm so excited to learn how to play it!

I have been taking lessons from Ian for about 6 months now and I can not recommend him highly enough. Not only does Ian have a complete and thorough understanding of guitar theory and technique, but he's also a really skilled instructor, he's really great at breaking down concepts in a way that makes them understandable and achievable. Again, I can't recommend him highly enough.

Blake is an amazing instructor. He really knows how to get on the level of his students, meet them where they are and help them internalize what he's teaching. My son started taking drum lessons from Blake when he was 10, and I was amazed at the progress be made. I was always extremely impressed with how Blake's friendly, fun approach was mixed with high expectations of his students. His love of music is obvious, and he imparts it to his students, which makes the learning process that much more effective. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for my son.

Oscar does a fantastic job of meeting his students where they are at in their learning process. He formats each lesson to the individual student and it makes all the difference. He is highly skilled, and highly knowledgeable--I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants learn how to play the guitar to the best of their ability. Oscar is my fourth guitar teacher, and BY FAR the best! :)

Hello, and thank you for looking on Thumbtack for a private instructor! I teach piano, voice, and guitar to beginner through intermediate levels. I work with each individual and help them gain understanding and competence in what they want to do as a musician. I work with you at your own pace. I have a studio, which is not wheelchair accessible, and for those who are disabled, I will travel to you. I charge more to travel, but I charge everyone for the month in advance. At the studio, I charge $25 per half-hour lesson and $45 per hour. So for 4 weeks, that would equal $100 or $180. If there are five lessons in a month, then the price is adjusted accordingly, i.e., $125 and $225. If I am traveling to you, my prices are $35 per half hour and $55 per hour. My location is 5 minutes north of the airport and 6 minutes west of downtown Boise. The address is 355 N Orchard, upstairs in Suite 207.

About

Do you want to learn how to play the guitar and/or bass? Hi. My name's Lewis, and I've been playing both instruments for 8 years. My teaching style is very easygoing and is suited toward what the student's wishes to learn and achieve. During the first free trial session, you'll be introduced to the basics of your guitar, like the different parts, string names, how to properly maintain your instrument, etc. If you wish to continue lessons after the free trial, then a contract will be drawn out that's based on what you want to learn, the number of lessons and their duration, and what you're able to afford for the lessons. Once a contract is made, you'll begin learning how to play your instrument. Basically, we'll discuss what type of music interests you, and then we can either learn to cover your favorite musicians or you can start writing your own music! So, if you're looking for a passionate and fun guitar/bass teacher, give me a call, and we can start jammin'!
