- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A minister at my church booked a wedding with a friend that would be her 2nd marriage. 6mo. prior to the wedding date advised my friend the church wouldn't allow him to perform the wedding even outside the church. I was angered by this decision, left that church and joined a better one. Along with my vows to god I vowed to give couples more choices to good ministers that would not discriminate.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Book early, good officiants go fast and book 12 - 24 months in advance. Always meet with the professional you hire, ask for a written contract and find out what their back up plan is if they have one in case they are unable to make the function. I work in a group of wonderful ministers & officiants that cover for one another in emergencies.
