After 35 years of travel and entertaining for my prior business responsibilities, I retired early and decided that my first goal was to get into better shape. I investigated a number of personal trainers in the area and contacted references provided by Chitown Trainer before engaging them. The peronal references were all spectacular. My personal experience has been great so far. I am well on my way to achieving my fitness and post-retirement lifestyle goals with the help of my trainer. He pushes me forward in my workouts and offers positive encouragement during our periodic progress reviews. He is always on time and provides a full 60-minute workout, after which I am both physically exhausted and mentally refreshed. If something such as heavy traffic results in him being delayed, he sends text messages so that I can keep my other commitments moving forward. Very reliable, professional and knowledgeable trainer, and an important part of my weekly routine!
I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for Patrick and Weightloss Transformation that I would still be the miserable, overweight girl that I had been for the last 10 years. I thank God every day that I stumbled upon Patrick’s website. One of the first things that caught my eye was that he and his trainers come to you. How great is that? You don’t even have to leave the privacy of your own home (or work) to get a great workout in AND you don’t need a full gym to do it. They bring everything you need. I was always the type of girl who never wanted to step foot in a gym. You seriously couldn’t pay me to go to one as I never felt comfortable enough. Just the thought of it made me sick to my stomach. With Patrick and his team, that’s no longer an issue. I don’t have to worry that people are staring or that I look funny or may not be doing something the right way (i.e. new exercises) because I’m in my own home and there’s no one judging me (except maybe my dog). Besides coming directly to you, Patrick and his team provide accountability (something that I definitely needed). He gives you nutritional advice and also a sample meal plan to help you along the way. He also watches what you’re eating to help make sure you stay on track. The best part is you never feel like you’re on a diet or deprived (because you’re not), it’s just a lifestyle change for the better. It’s not always easy, but he’s there to help and guide you each step of the way. You get to the point where you not only want to make yourself proud, but you want to make Patrick proud too. With every pound you lose, he’s as equally excited (if not more) as you are. He is 100% committed to your weightloss transformation and provides you with encouragement, motivation, patience, reliability and the dedication you need to get through it. He will make you stronger both physically AND mentally. I seriously don’t know what I would do without him. He’s made me a better person. I look great, I feel great, I’m happier, I have less headaches, more energy and I finally like ME (and I’m not even done with my transformation yet). I never thought I would say this, but I always look forward to our workouts. It feels A-MAZING to burn over 500 calories in an hour. Even when I work out on our “off” days, when I want to give up or quit, I hear Patrick in my head (“only 10 more” or “you can do it”) and it helps me push through. If you think you only have a personal trainer on the days you see him, think again. Patrick will check in on you on your “off days” and he always encourages you to reach out to him to let him know when you’ve completed a work out or if you’ve made a good eating decision or when you’ve dropped a pound or two. He’s like a proud parent…haha. Well, if you’ve made it this far into my review, you’re probably feeling the same way I did. Stuck, depressed, helpless and unmotivated. JT got me back in to working out and help me stay consistent at it. I would be nowhere near where I am today without him. Dan has been training me for the past 8 weeks and since we started working together, I've seen an incredible improvement in my strength, and my figure--this week I was able to fit back into my favorite pair of work pants that I haven't been able to fit in, in a year! When I first met with Dan I hadn't worked out in literally 2 years and was really nervous about all of it; however, Dan devoted an entire session to simply understanding me, the current state of my health, my habits, and helped me define where I wanted to be in my ideal future state. Dan then put together a customized program to ensure we could get there. As a woman, my one of my biggest concern was around "bulking up" from weight training as my body type lends itself to this if I'm not careful. I shared this with Dan and despite what I was sure would happen after the weight training, he's somehow made plan that made me smaller and noticeably toned up, and definitely not bulkier! In parallel, Dan has also really helped me with my poor eating habits--I'm a busy executive with little time to care or prepare food that is consistently healthy--and I sure do love Chicago cuisine. But every visit Dan would casually ask me what I planned to eat for the week and then give me directives on best options, grocery store lists, crackpot recipes, how to store my food, when to prepare it, and even where I can stop on the way home to get what I need for the next day :). . Dan has been a God send and reinvigorated my belief that I can take care of my health, actually meet my fitness goals, and truly enjoy it. I've absolutely loved, enjoyed, and seen results from every single session with Dan. I can't rave enough about how great a trainer he is and his attention to every aspect of his clients fitness, and overall well-being!!
Raven is by the far the best personal trainer I have ever met. When I first started with him, I was 250 lb and lost 25 lb within 2 months (meeting only twice a week...when I wasn't traveling for work, which by the way he was very willing to work around). His system draws from a lifetime of experience and a PhD in Kinesiology. He custom designed a specific exercise regime for my body type that was shocking effective. It is hard to describe how much progress I made. I did not expect the results I got. His insight into fat reduction and strength conditioning blew my mind. I learned more in a few sessions with Raven than I had in my entire life. Working with him, I realized how ineffective my past exercise experience was (I worked so hard for a lot fewer results). Not to suggest Raven won't push you hard (in fact, he'll push you to your limit), but it's incredible how he makes the session so fun and fast. For example, in the past, I avoided a "difficult" exercise because I was afraid of hurting myself or vomiting. With Raven's guidance, I was given the courage to go further than I ever had (without evening noticing!). When I threw up for the first time, we celebrated together! It was a rite of passage and I am very proud of testing my limits. If you want to lose fat in a sustainable way, Raven's whole body health philosophy will take you the distance. It's not a gimmick and it takes hard work, but he will get you to your desired weight and body shape faster than anyone out there. Don't sign up if you don't want to put in the work, because Raven expects your best effort. But if you are committed to his diet and exercise program and want to laugh a lot along the way, he's your guy. (And don't worry about your motivation...Rav's an expert motivator and has a way of energizing your desire to get better every day).
After discussing my fitness goals, Elijah explained the general outlines of his plans and expectations. His style is simple and easy. I think most personal trainers are very knowledgable and very good at what they do. Elijah stood apart, however, from other trainers I have worked with in the past. He is particularly commendable because he is personable, genuine and fun. He also made it clear that I had to do my part as recommended by him, such as eating habits. He is also not afraid to talk about finances. I would recommend anybody to at least try a few sessions with him. You will know what I am talking about.
Tricia does an excellent job! I am only on my second week with her but I did lose 6 lbs the first week by working out with her and doing what I needed to do on my own concerning working out and what I ate. I would definitely recommend her for your personal training needs.
Working with Chaun has been a great experience!! He first listened to my needs (previously had broken my foot & hand) then worked me out hard! He's flexible & gives good rates. I got great results in less time than I expected; always enjoying my workout with his motivation. He answered my nutrition & exercise questions to fit my needs. Chaun is very personable & knowledgeable, he truly knows his stuff. Will definitely continue to work with him!! I highly recommend him as a personal trainer!
John is an excellent trainer. He is knowledgeable, patient, and a great communicator. It is evident that John understands the science behind physical health and makes sure that the personalized workouts he develops are safe and effective. He teaches you what each movement is doing and why it is important. A trainer isn't just a person who tells you what to do a few time a week. A trainer enables you to take control of your health by teaching you the 'hows' and 'whys'. I've been working with John for just under a month and I feel stronger and healthier. I will continue working with him and I highly recommend him if you are looking for a personal trainer.

your personal trainers are very well versed in what they do. they give you exercises that are just enough to push you past your personal limits. it's very nice to have them come to your house.

Juan is an INCREDIBLE trainer! Besides the fact that he makes training FUN, he understands body mechanics and working around injuries. He always ensures exercises are done RIGHT and that form always comes first!!! I laugh my whole workout (ok maybe not the really hard parts) and always leave smiling, albeit sweaty, after our workouts!
Best personal trainer - EVER! I've noticed a huge difference in my overall endurance and strength after training with Gary. I'm noticing more definition and my clother are fitting better.
I must say Phyllis is incredibly outstanding as a Personal Trainer. She is by far the most knowledgeable and experienced trainer I've worked with. She takes a special interest in training a new hirer. Extremely detailed oriented in knowing specifics about the individual so that she can tailor the entire session to your needs. She also is patient and really cares how her client is feeling. I have found in working with Phyllis you can be open with her and it works. Were previous trainers were not as apt to listen. When leaving my sessions not only do I feel refreshed, yet am excited to go back for the next one. Knowing she will instruct/teach and make an individual understand the entire workout. To anyone looking there is no doubt to choose Phyllis, for you will not be disappointed.
Jessica has been my personal trainer / Bootcamp instructor for 2+ years! She always comes up with innovative workouts and ensures I'm not bored. Challenging workout, great person, and the time flies! What more could you want!?!

I found Chris' post through Craigslist and decided to try it out. I'm a student and drive from Naperville. I thought hey- 2x/wk for an hour is totally doable with my schedule. PLUS he was having a promo! When I met Chris he was totally laid back which I respond better too. I've never had a personal trainer before, but I really enjoyed my sessions with him!
Brent has been my personal trainer for 3 years now. I had never worked one-on-one with a trainer before I met Brent. I started with just once a week, then twice a week and now three times a week. If it were not for Brentâs knowledge, encouragement and patience, I would have given up long ago. He took the time to ask and listen regarding my goals and physical limitations. He has constantly tailored my program to help me achieve short term goals, as well as working toward long term goals. He has an encouraging and challenging way about him that has you doing things you never knew you could, and he does not bark or bully you. I never thought I would spend the time or money to work with a personal trainer, but with Brent as my trainer, I cannot imagine stopping. I now live for the challenge!
