Mr Owen did a wonderful job, and clearly has the customer's best interest in mind. He has a great amount of skill and was able to complete the job quickly and efficiently. He also helped to fix other appliances. He responded quickly, was punctual, and was very tidy. I would certainly hire him again.

OMGoodness. Philip and Parker are the BEST! They are polite, clean and very knowledgeable. They asked me a lot of questions to be sure they understood exactly what I wanted. I hired them to install an attic fan in my house. They had to build the platform it sat on, run the wiring, install the switches, run the wiring and hook it in the panel. When they were finished, they cleaned everything up! I was amazed at how clean they left my house! I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone! They are coming back for 2 more electrical projects I need done.

Torrence showed up and learned that I had been ripped off $2000 by a previous contractor. He assured me that he would do all he could to help me. And he did. He install a new A-coil and recharged the AC unit. His charge for services was the lowest out of five bids. I thought I under paid him by $100 but called me on my way to the bank and let me know that I gave him the correct amount. When I got back home he gave me back al the money and asked me to recount it to make sure. This man has the temperament and integrity to be very successful moving forward. Thanks T.

AAA came out promptly after I contacted them. They did not repair my appliance as they were honest and told me that with the age of my dryer and brand it probably was not worth repairing .

This was one of the best repair/ installation experiences I've ever had. Everything went smoothly! Also he was extremely nice and approachable. He told us everything he was doing before he did it and made sure we understood what was going on. I would absolutely recommend!

John replaced an old, leaky basement window for us. He showed up at 10 a.m. and including clean up, was out by a few minutes past 11. I am very happy with his work and his pricing, and we look forward to having him back in the future for any repairs or work we might need.

I needed a master bathroom remodel - new flooring, replace cabinets, remount a large mirror, and install countertop and all plumbing fixtures. Working with Troy was easy because he listened to what needed to be done, then took charge and complete the job quickly. He is pleasant to work with, knowledgeable about his craft, and I would recommend him without hesitation.

I had Mr. Hamdyman come out to my home and imstall a window, fix some wood rot in bathroom and install new flooring. Very professional, explained what they would be doing for you, respect your home by putting on shoe covers before entering and fairly priced. I will be using them for any future projects and strongly recommend this company to anyone!

Rollie was quick to get the job done and did a superb job. We needed someone to climb to the top of our 3rd story dormer window and repair some trim around the dormer so squirrels couldn't get into our attic. Rollie was able to fit us in within 2 days of getting the call and get the job done in less than an hour!

My existing pool deck needed some repair, power washing and painting. Shane and his employees were very efficient, professional and careful when painting....no mess left behind. They also washed and painted our wooden playset which required quite a bit of hand painting. Wonderful job on everything... great men to work with !!!!! Will definitely hire again when necessary!!!

Ed did a GREAT job on some repairs to our 1936 home that were necessary before we could put it on the market. The project involved a lot of different skills - everything from lead paint removal and repair to interior painting, some kitchen remodel, drywall repair, bathroom remodeling, and other odds and ends. He was a great craftsman, very professional in his work, and honest, reasonable, and competitive in his rates. He was prompt, diligent, hard-working, and we had no complaints whatsoever. I would absolutely recommend Ed and Ten Star Construction to my friends and family, and anyone else in need of a skilled handyman, and would hire them again for any needs my family would have in the future.

Abaco came out on a Sunday to perform work requested. Very professional and very informative. Extremely capable and able to assist in what was needed vs. what was identified by an 3rd party install of a Big Box Home Improvement Store. Abaco saved me from as unnecessary work, time and unneeded additional cost. I would highly recommend from both a service and trustworthiness perspective. Obvious that Abaco's motive was to serve me to the best of their ability and not ring up a bill.

Kyle is great to work with- returns calls, shows up when he says he is going to and does great work for a very reasonable price. He installed an interior door, repaired other doors and expanded our deck to our specifications.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

    • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
    • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
    • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

    How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
