We love YBFDH we have a daily dog walker, and they do our house/pet sitting when we are away. They also trained our dogs and recommended a great groomer. The people are very nice and really do love the animals. I wouldn't leave my pets anywhere else

Earlier this year we went on a short vacation, the first since we became homeowners, and for lack of forethought our only option was to board our cat for the 3.5 days we were gone. While she made it through okay, we couldn't help but think it would be less stress for everyone involved if we just let her stay at home and had someone check in on her, so we began shopping for pet sitters prior to our long vacation this fall. To give some context, we had certain criteria for a pet sitter. We didn't want someone who we couldn't trust to take the job seriously, and truly wanted to hire someone who does this primarily for a living. There's a measure of trust that goes into this - you're giving someone virtually unrestricted access to your home and hoping that they will take care of your beloved pet as you would. It's a tall order. We had quite a few respondents to our postings, and out of all of them we chose Helene after our initial meet and greet. The things that stood out to us the most were Helene's earnest interest in pet care, her depth of knowledge, and her bonded/insured practice. This is her profession, not just something to make some money on the side. Helene asked all the right questions of us up front, which is what we were looking for. I'm happy to say things couldn't have gone better! We left on vacation for 12 days this autumn and received daily updates via email to let us know that our cat was being well cared for. We asked Helene to stop by for half hour daily sessions, inclusive of feeding/maintenance/play, and it seems to have gone off without a hitch. It was really great to have one less thing to worry about, and they seemed to have gotten along very well. We will definitely be contacting Helene again in the future for any pet sitting needs and encourage anyone reading this to do so as well.

Wow! After pretty extensive searching for a professional and trustworthy pet sitter for my new cat, I chose to hire Lainey after reading all of her wonderful reviews. She is so friendly and I felt comfortable giving the keys to my apartment to her after meeting her just once. Since I've been on vacation I've received pictures of my cat every day which definitely eases my anxiety about how she's doing while I'm away. She texts me every day to tell me she's been to visit my kitty, so I know she's being taken care of. She did ask as well if I'd like pictures and daily updates and also asked what time I'd like her to visit while I'm gone. I love that she's considerate of different preferences that everyone might have! Overall, she has made my vacation so much less stressful and I'm so glad I found her. She's definitely going to be my go-to in the future for any of my pet sitting needs!

I cannot say enough great things about Dina. Dina is my first pet sitter and from the start she made me feel very comfortable. Dina makes sure to send text messages and pictures to let me know how my pets are doing. My dogs are not the easiest, and Dina has such compassion that within a day my dogs consider her part of the family (and so do we). I HIGHLY recommend Dina!!!!

My dog is a shelter dog with multiple issues. This is the first time I have needed dog care beyond the assistance of family and friends. I found Nancy, General Manager of Fetch, to be both professional and caring. My dog and I immediately felt comfortable with Nancy and his dog sitter, Jennifer. Jennifer took care of my dog for 4 days and did a tremendous job! She understood exactly what my dog needed. She provided him with the same routine he is used to and a lot of love. To put my mind at ease Jennifer would text with updates and pictures each day. I highly recommend Fetch! Pet Care of Orland Park to Frankfort, to any dog owner.

Susan has been cat sitting for us for over ten years and we have only positive things to say. First, she did cat sitting for one cat and now for our three. She always asks how they are doing along with detailed questions so she knows what is going on with them, their food and medicine issues, etc. She is easy to work with, 100% reliable, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and experienced. She has a very calm demeanor which our cats respond well to and she spends the time to play with them and give them attention while we are gone so that they are happy and in good spirits when we come home.

Paula was absolutely phenomenal. I recently was working 12 hour days for 2 weeks straight and needed a dog walker to take my 2 dogs out twice a day. I hired Paula off of Thumbtack and wow I couldn't have asked for a nicer, incredibly reliable, and trustworthy dog walker. She passed along updates on the dogs and always kept me in the loop on the pups. She was very kind and very passionate about what she does. I would give her 10 stars if I could. Paula is definitely my go to dog walker from here on out and I passed out a couple of her cards to my neighbors with dogs. If you want a great dog walker, do yourself a favor and hire Paula!!

I've been very happy with Patty's Pet Service. She walks my dog during the weekdays and always leaves a note about the visit. She also responds very quickly if you text/call her. I just moved to the area and my dog is still very nervous about the new environment (much more traffic and close to a train track). Patty is a great mid-day break to help my dog become more comfortable outside and of course, go to bathroom.

I was desperate for a dog walker when my local high schoolers went off to college. Todd has been great. Wally, my kind of tough mixed breed shelter dog really likes him and Todd has never let me down.

Michelle groomed my 15-year-old dog, who suffered from arthritis and had bad back legs. Brownie had medium-long hair that shed like crazy and hadn't been professionally washed or brushed for years. After 90 minutes, she emerged from Michelle's van looking clean and sleek. I've recommended her service to my pet-sitting customers. It was a little pricey, but you get convenience (especially for dogs averse to car rides) and a groomer with a lot of experience and knowledge.

Robert was amazing in taking care of my dog. He was extremely professional and responsive. I loved getting photo updates of how my dog was doing. I also greatly appreciated that Robert was trained in pet CPR and was independently insured - definitely kept my mind at ease whilst I was gone. I recommend Robert and the Pigglesworth Pet Project very highly!

Sara watched my high-energy, high-strung Jack Russell rescue dog (Daisy Duke) twice this summer for two week-long vacations. She was recommended to me by a friend who has known Sara since middle school. I don't put my trust in many people, but Sara proved to be very deserving of it. Daisy was in great hands. Sara came and met with Daisy before the first in-house pet-sitting started. During the visit Sara played fetch with Daisy outside and the two got to know one another. During the pet-sitting week, Sara stayed overnight with Daisy and spent a lot of time playing with her. Daisy pees a lot, because she's a nervous dog, with some issues from her previous lilfe before we adopted her. Sara was patient and understanding. She also made sure Daisy was walked and exercised thoroughly. I HIGHLY recommend Sara. She's affordable, trust-worthy, and compassionate. I am a little doting, when it comes to my children (furry or human) and I appreciated the status texts from Sara letting me know how it went. After the visit I received a summary of how things went, whether Daisy ate well, and how much exercise and TLC she received. I loved this service. Sara also watered by small garden and I tipped her for that, since she did such a stellar job. What completely bowled me over was that Sara washed the bedding so that I didn't have to attend to the guest room, when I arrived home exhausted from our travels. Totally unexpected, but a really nice touch.

John takes care of my two cats - Pete and George - very regularly. My fiancé and I have very erratic work schedules and do not get a lot of notice before we need to travel. John has been so flexible with us, and seems to really enjoy his time with our boys! He even sends me pictures and texts updates! I think his rates are very reasonable, and he's worth the peace of mind if you have a pet who needs some attention while you're away!

Mike is professional, punctual and trustworthy. He did a great job taking care of two indoor cats and a feral colony of 10 outdoor cats while I was out of the country for several weeks. He sent pictures and updates nearly every day. Would hire again without hesitation.

About

Welcome! Anyone can be a dog walker. It takes a special kind of individual to truly understand, communicate, and care properly for a pet one doesn’t own. My name is Sandra Gileviciute. Throughout my life, I have worked with many breeds of dogs on obedience training, dominance issues, pack orientation, socialization, and command reinforcement. I have owned small and large dogs; as well as several ferrets, fish, pet rats, rabbits, and reptiles. When it comes to animals, I have spent my entire life around them. I started Southwest Paws to give peace of mind to busy professionals. Every animal lover considers their pets a part of the family. Not being able to give adequate time for play, exercise, and continuous training is not an uncommon problem these days. Those that make up this city work grueling hours, commute long distances, and sacrifice a lot to be the best. Success comes at a price, but now it doesn't have to be at the expense of your pets. From personal experience, I understand that peace of mind goes a long way. Stress is never worth what it seems, so I encourage you to consider incorporating Southwest Paws into your routine. Use your new found positive energy to create more success for yourself. You can work overtime, take a business trip or even enjoy a personal day knowing your pets are being well taken care of. I would be happy to personally answer any questions you may have, or come meet you and your pets. No amount of money is worth your pets. But in our case, you don’t have to spend a fortune for exceptional, trustworthy, and professional service from Southwest Paws. I look forward to meeting you.
