Latest Review: Elijah is wonderful - my husband and I started with 10 sessions, and quickly upped it to 20 sessions. He is easy to communicate with for setting up our workouts, offers alternatives if you need them based on your skill and/or due to injury, always on time, and has a wealth of knowledge based on your fitness goals, and eating goals. Highly recommend!

Latest Review: I was doing high intensity interval training, which caused serious injuries to my knee and shoulder, so I wanted to get back into full body resistance training and cardio. After reading reviews, I chose Dan. It has been a wonderful ride ever since. He's very smart, thoughtful, and incredibly enthusiastic. He spends a great deal of time tracking your numbers so that there is genuine accountability as to the extent of your progress. After I saw the orthopedist about my shoulder and went to physical therapy, Dan took the recommended physical therapy exercises and integrated them directly into my workouts. Very creative; very cool. He's easy to communicate by text or email, and incredibly responsive. He's also very knowledgeable about the Chicago performing arts scene, which I enjoy discussing with him. Bottom line: I'm getting stronger; feeling more fit and confident; and not getting injured. Dan's been great.

Latest Review: I contacted the GymGuyz because I'm serious about losing weight and getting in shape without having to go to a gym or use a bunch of large equipment. So far I've had 6 sessions and each session has been completely different, I have not repeated any exercises, which is great because I'm getting a full body workout every time, without having to repeat the same exercises. I feel like I am getting the most out of each session, because my trainer pushes me to my potential, something I could not do on my own. I'm doing this for results, and my trainer has designed a workout tailored to the results I want. My trainer is also very knowledgeable about fitness and eating healthy and is passing his knowledge onto me. I'm very happy with my experience, and I would recommend the GymGuyz to anyone who is serious about losing weight or getting in shape.

Latest Review: What can I say-Chris is amazing! He will help you identify your goals and then reach them. He not only pushes during the work out, but also makes suggestions of fun cardio alternatives. Having worked with several trainers in the past, I can definitely say Chris is the best. He is pleasant (even at 7am, which is more than I can say), friendly and dedicated. If you have a goal, you will reach it with Chris and do it with a smile!

Latest Review: Jane and Matt are both great to work with. We alternate between both because they both have different personalities as well as workouts and it's great to mix it up and keep it fresh. Gentle intensity (GI) is right on. We are entering our third month with them - and still loving the workouts and the results. Highly recommend them.

Latest Review: I've spent my life working out with every possible class and trainer. I can honestly say Kevin's workouts are the best. Kevin is silly and fun and motivating and kicks my butt. I've worked out with him both at my home and in the gym. First met him at the gym and when I walked in I felt a little intimated but he made me feel comfortable the moment I met him. He was interested in me and what I wanted to accomplish and we worked on a plan to get to my goals. It was clear from others in the class that they trusted him and were completely motivated. I just went for it and felt completely at home, like I'd been working out with him and the group forever. You have to meet Kevin to see what a great person he is. Served our country for 20 years in the Navy and brought that work ethic and sense of team to his workouts and the people he trains. He made me feel like I belonged to something that was important beyond just working out, but a sense of community with the great group of people under his care. I know it might sound silly, but I'm proud to know him and work out with him, he's just that kind of person. I highly recommend Kevin as a trainer whether it's one-on-one or in a group. I am thrilled with results I've gotten. Kevin is a true professional.

Latest Review: I had the pleasure of not only training with Sam, but also working alongside him at the Sachs Recreation Center (SRC). For the better part of a year I would watch Sam train his clients. During this time, I was working out 5-7 days a week, sometimes twice a day. I was getting results but not really the ones I wanted. Sam then introduced me to the world of kettlebell training, and I haven’t looked back. My goals were to lose weight, get stronger, become more flexible, and of course learn the fundamentals of kettlebell training. In less than 6 months my body composition has totally changed. I went from a bulky 200 lbs. to a leaner 185 lbs. (and still going down). My pull-up max has more than doubled since training with Sam. Among other exercises, Sam corrected my form on the dead-lift and squat. The weight I’ve been able to use for those have since gone up significantly. I think the most exciting part of my progress is that I’ve actually been working out about half as much as I was before. Sam would always tell me “train smarter, not harder.” And that mentality has stuck with me. Although my flexibility is still not where I’d like it to be, I’ve made a tremendous amount of progress with Sam. He actually taught me how to stretch, warm up, and foam roll more efficiently than a decade worth of soccer coaches has been able to. The kettlebell training is by far my favorite thing Sam has taught me. Kettlebells allow me to blend my aerobic and anaerobic training more fluidly. In fact, I enjoyed the kettlebells so much that I’ll be investing in my own now that I’m away at college. I think most of my weight loss came from the kettlebell circuits and the diet advice Sam has given me. Sam is the only trainer I would recommend to anyone in the area. Not only is he a pleasure to be around but he has extensive knowledge in all things pertaining to your body. He will not just tell you what to do and how to do it, but why it’s important at an anatomical and physiological level. Sam helped me reach my health and fitness goals and set me on the right path to improve even more. I know he would love to help you reach your goals as well, you just got to let him!
