He was very prompt and professional, asking me to send photos of the unit so he could better assess the issue. He let me know he could stop by after finishing another client’s job, and he arrived within about 45 minutes, which I really appreciated. Once he got here, he quickly diagnosed the problem and confirmed that the garbage disposal needed to be replaced. He gave me three options: a used/refurbished unit for $100, a brand-new one for $160 or completely removing the garbage disposal. I chose option 2, getting a new unit because it came with a warranty, which seemed worth the additional cost. Since he did not have a new unit on hand, he needed to make a trip to Home Depot to purchase one. He charged a $45 travel fee for that trip, which I did not agree with. In my opinion, costs associated with picking up common replacement parts or supplies should already be factored into the service fee, especially if those items are not stocked in advance. In total, I paid $200 for labor/installation, $160 for the new garbage disposal, and $45 for the travel fee. Overall, he resolved the issue successfully, and I was satisfied with the quality of the work and his responsiveness. My only concern was the additional travel charge, which is the main reason for the 4-star rating."See more
