My son has taken violin lessons with Clete for the last 6 or 7 years and we couldn't be happier to work with such an outstanding teacher. Clete has a vast knowledge of violin technique, great teaching style and a demeanor that lets his students know he means business but is still enjoyable to work with. My son has learned so much from him and continues to grow into a fine musician under Clete's tutelage. I highly rebmend him to anyone looking for a violin teacher.

Both of my children (boy and girl) have taken piano lessons from Ada for 5 years. They love working with her. She is the perfect mix of fun and serious. She has also given them a music theory foundation that have used to learn other instruments.

I was looking for a violin teacher for my daughter. Her previous teacher of 8 years was a successful Suzuki teacher who had more than 30 students. My daughter is a hard worker and After 8 years, her skills was limited and lacks ability to play with phasing and musically. Her teacher only focused on writing fingering on music and as soon as student can play from beginning to the end of piece, then it's ready to move on to the next piece in Suzuki book. It was a frustrating experience that my daughter's violin playing was robotic and completely lack of musicality ( so were all 30 of her students). Sadly, my daughter started losing interest in daily practice, from 1 hr to 10 min. I was worry that she will give up taking violin lessons after 8 years of study. Then a colleague referred me to Steven Maloney from Violin Lessons Chicago. He changed my daughters life! Steve inspired her to play with confidence with real feeling, not just play the notes. She had lost interest in violin, but now she's so excited to practice and make music. I can't thank Steve enough. Bravo!! He's the best!!!

I took violin lessons and my sister took piano lessons from Carol for two years. She was always very patient, explained things in a very clear way, and was very encouraging. We were very sorry when we no longer had time to continue our lessons. Anybody who gets to take lessons from Carol should consider them self lucky.

My daughter has been taking violin lessons from Mrs. Jones for the last 3 years, she just started piano a few months ago. We love Mrs. Jones. She makes her lessons interesting, helps my daughter understand and perform well. Mrs. Jones has taught my daughter her music as well as self confidence. Mrs. Jones has her student perform at her church every year and you can tell right away how her students grow to become really accomplished musicians.

Learning to play a string instrument is an incredible confidence-builder and builds strong social bonds and creative expression. Researchers continue to recognize that studying an instrument for even a short duration in childhood pays off in the short term in increased cognitive development and other benefits. There are also benefits to be reaped in the long term and for adult learners, too, including sharper mental function, lower blood pressure, reduced many good things! As a teaching artist, I open up the world of playing string music to students from age 3 to adult learners. My background as a performer and educator means that I bring the best curriculum and methodology to each lesson. In addition to the lesson instruction time, I offer online support resources for at-home practice, and my small studio size means every student receives individualized lesson plans and attention for a very reasonable lesson rate. I can be seen performing all over the greater Chicago area and beyond as a highly-sought violinist and violist. I have won multiple highly-competitive auditions for major orchestras in North America, and have a notable background in curriculum development and string pedagogy. I have taught in a wide range of programs across the US and Canada. Trained as a Suzuki Method teacher, I combine elements of the Suzuki Method with other effective pedagogical methods for a unique approach to playing and learning the violin and viola.
