Mark has been wonderful with teaching our 11 year old beginning guitar lessons. He is very patient and encouraging as a teacher.
Brenda is an awesome teacher. I grew continuously during our time together. If you are looking for singing lessons, look no further. Brenda is the teacher you want.
Very kind and patient with my 7yr old. My daughter is enjoying learning music!
I am so happy to have Ms Son Yong Yun as my Piano Teacher. She teaches me the basic. And she always help when I am stuck reading music. She is very nice. I think I am going to continue tanking piano lessons from her for years.
She is very kind and patient with young beginners! My child has learned a lot in just a few lessons!
If your child wants to learn to play piano, treat yourself to Daniel Pattersons Music Studio! We feel lucky we did. Enrolling our daughter in piano lessons, we didnt foresee that it would be like the Wizard of Oz where Dorothys journey takes her from the fuzzy black and white of Kansas to the high definition Technicolor of the Emerald City. We were stunned! My husband and I dont play piano. We just hoped to enroll her in music lessons to boost her concentration & discipline and to gain the host of other benefits a music education is supposed to provide. Perhaps, weve watched too many movies, but we expected that a good piano teacher would train her like an army drill sergeant, with drills and exercises, rigor and discipline so that she would grow in strength and competence and confidence. In case she dragged her feet, we were ready to enforce any discipline needed to keep her on this path , knowing that in the end, it would be the best for her. She would, of course, thank us later for all this =) Daniel Patterson shattered our expectations! We were totally on the wrong track. Daniel Patterson is orders of magnitude more than we could have ever hoped for in a piano teacher! His passion, his buoyancy, and fun spirit are contagious. He is an expert at explaining piano concepts to his students in ways that they can understand at their level. He provides an optimal, always encouraging atmosphere for maximal/motivated learning to take place. Kids learn while having fun! If only all teachers were inspired like this! Our daughter feels like she is going to a piano party every week, and expects to have fun. She feels happy before and even more after her lesson and that overflows into our home when she practices her piano. And she LOVES to practice! She practices every time she passes by the piano. We dont have to remind her. As a matter of fact, sometimes we have to tell her to stop practicing because she has to do something else =) She has learned faster than we could have ever expected. And this enhanced learning has spilled over into all her school subjects. She studies everything with more self-motivation, discipline, focus and enthusiasm. And she is not afraid of practice. She doesnt get discouraged easily. She knows this is just part of the process of learning anything. And she has gained all this without a lot of effort or realizing it. Its as if Daniel Patterson sneaked in some pureed vegetables into his piano-teaching cookie recipe. Our daughter relishes her delightful lessons ( without the veggie aftertaste). Just to be sure, I asked our daughter if piano lessons were as fun as when Dorothy entered the Emerald City in Oz. She corrected me by saying, Its way funner.
I've been taking guitar lessons with Phil for about 2 years, and I have been extremely impressed with his musical skills and his instructional skills. Phil is not the guy who "teaches a little on the side." He is a caring and dedicated musical education professional who will use a structured approach to take you where you want to go with your instrument.
Stephen is great to work with. He was willing to walk me through buying a guitar and amp to get started. Super excited for my lessons!
I am taking voice lessons and truly enjoying them; Carolyn is an excellent teacher!
As an older student that had piano lessons as a young person, I have found Diana to be a wonderful teacher, patient, organized, qualified. Lessons are full and leave me enthusiastic for the next lesson. Bravo!
I am a third year student studying at the University of Cincinnati: College-Conservatory of Music. I couldn't be more thankful for the time in which I had my lessons with David. Truly, if it weren't for his help, I wouldn't be in music school today. David is not only incredibly talented, but is also an incredibly versatile and personal individual. One of the best things about David is that he always goes the extra mile. He won't stop at simply training your voice; he will tackle your fears! If you're afraid of singing or playing in front of people, he's going to find a stage to put you on. He could have stuck with just performing, but to put it simply, David is the type that can't resist sharing his knowledge with others. I would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking lessons in the Indianapolis area. 5/5
My granddaughters have been receiving piano and voice lessons for several years. They continually improve and love it! The enjoy participating in the plays and showcases and the family always has a great time when attending the extra activities, also.
My daughter has loved her piano lessons with Wayne. He is a very good instructor, very patient and encouraging. He has a true love for his craft, and encourages it in his students.
Ms. Johnson is a graduate of Jacobs School of Music which is very impressive. She was punctual in replies and willing to work on a time schedule. She has an impressive background and I look forward to working with her.
Miriam has been teaching our 6yo piano lessons for about 6 months. Miriam is very patient when my daughter gets distracted. She keeps good record of when and how much we have paid. We have been very pleased so far and our daughter is progressing well. Oh, and she has been very flexible when emergencies or sickness has come up and we needed to reschedule a lesson. What a great lesson! It was fun, entertaining, and educational. Renee immediately put me at ease, made me comfortable and we got right to work! Cannot wait for the lessons to continue!
Learn to play guitar or become a songwriter. I am a professional musician with 25 years of playing experience and 20 years of teaching experience. I can teach and play in most all styles of music. I can also teach you how to read music and music theory, along with how it applies to the guitar and songwriting in general.
Ms. Leilah specializes in the Suzuki method of teaching music by ear, although she places equal emphasis on notereading for a more well-rounded student. She has her bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Indianapolis and 13 years of experience teaching. She is also a certified Suzuki instructor via the Suzuki Association of the Americas. This is a highly successful method of teaching music that involves the parents in lessons as well!
The point of learning an instrument is to enable you to play the music you love. I will only teach you what you want to learn. I will not obligate you to learn a song you didn't choose just so that you can learn some obscure technique. You tell me what's been playing in your playlists and I will help you learn that song.
I have actively been a part of the Lafayette community -- that is, in the musical department. I participated in Honors Choir and band at Faith Christian School, accompanied soloists for ISSMA as well as for the Bach Chorale Children's summer camp, and have studied privately for over 12 years. I was accepted into the music program at the private University of Indianapolis for music education and enjoyed my time there but am now working towards a management degree at the School of Krannert at Purdue University. Playing piano and singing have always been passions and hobbies of mine, so I would love to try teaching privately again.
I'm a guitar teacher that actually plays live music and has performed in the studio, and knows how to write and cover music. At just 21 years of age, I may seem young to be a guitar teaching professional, but I spent my youth studying the instrument, and I also bring a lot of energy into teaching which is crucial for staying positive in the learning process!
