He taught 2 of my children. One learned guitar and the other piano. They both excelled! I would recommend him to others looking for private or group lessons.
Guitar Chicago is the best option for music lessons in Chicago! Their instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. They do a fantastic job of working with you to achieve your individual goals. I started as a beginner with no guitar knowlege, and they helped me achieve my goals of playing multiple open mics and music events. I've also been able to meet and work with other Guitar Chicago students! They are always willing to work with my busy schedule, which is very hard to find with other schools or group lessons.
More than just a teacher. I took guitar lessons with Paul for eight years. He helped me realize my natural ear for music, and allowed me to figure out what I wanted to learn. Our lessons were always different. Sometimes I would bring in songs that I wanted to learn, and sometimes he would have things he thought I should know how to play, which helped me learn similar songs later on. When I was applying to college and needed to learn how to read music and play jazz guitar, he tailored all of our lessons so that I could learn those techniques quickly and most importantly, efficiently. Paul's personality transcends the teacher-student relationship, which allowed he and I to become very good friends. Paul William is an excellent teacher for whatever you need to learn. You can't go wrong taking lessons from him.
I wanted to arrange guitar lessons for my daughter as a Christmas present. The experience was great especially since we live hundreds of miles away from each other. I was a first time user of Thumbtack and I will definitely use it again.
I first tried to learn guitar through a few of the popular guitar websites out there. I was able to pick up some of the basics like open chords and the pentatonic scales, but I also picked up a lot of bad habits. After a few months, I decided to take some private lessons to see what the experience would be like. I was pretty blown away by how much a learned in just 1 hour. Matt has been very effective at helping me improve my abilities in a relatively short amount of time. After just a few months of lessons, I felt confident enough to perform at a few local open mic nights. For me, the most important aspect of lessons has been learning from my mistakes. Without a professional teacher, it's hard to know what you're doing wrong, what you could be doing better, etc. Matt is an expert at all things guitar. If you take lessons with him and work hard at practicing, you're going to improve very quickly. It's that simple. I really can't say enough good things about my experience.
My daughter enjoys taking piano lesson with Mr. Al for the past 4 years. His lesson is not boring. It's fun and the best part is he comes to our house to give lesson.
Wiebe is the best, most trust worthy guitar teacher ever! It's a lot of fun to play and learn here. Students are super cool too! Best thing is that sometimes you can even make a small band here!
I got SO much more than I asked for connecting with Altered Stage. Not only does my membership get me access to unlimited guitar lessons with an awesome teacher, it also includes a great space with all the equipment needed, a welcoming community of likeminded and friendly recreational musicians, and the chance to play on-stage with my fellow members once/month. I went from being the guy who could play chords and learn simple songs through tabs to someone who understands music theory and feels comfortable jamming with strangers at the drop of a hat. A huge change from where I started and not at all what I expected. AS gives members the chance to get involved as little or as much as one wants. I could not recommend them more to musicians at any level.
Meagan is professional and conscientious. She makes the lessons interesting and fun with her attitude and music selections.. We could not be happier.
Phil is the best guitar teacher you'll find. Extremely knowledgeable and attentive to your individual goals, with years of professional experience to back it up. Want to be a true musician? Learn from one!
Colin is a great bass teacher. I learn a lot, and it is also a lot of fun taking his class.
My daughter took lessons with Manny to prepare for a high school audition. I was very surprised by how serious she took the lessons. His expectations came across as very clear and motivational. My daughter loved her violin lessons and is now playing for her high school’s orchestra!
HGS Music is amazing, has the best staff and is really fun! I always feel very welcome. I think they've even convinced me to start playing Ukulele as well!
I offer singing and acting lessons. I am a professional performer listed on website "Historical Tenors". My students have been singing in professional opera and Broadway shows.
Sam is a wonderful teacher and I have learned a great deal from him since I began studying with him a few months ago. He is flexible and willing to teach you what YOU want to know. He knows many different styles of guitar playing, so it's easy for him to help you get where you want to go. I highly recommend him both for beginning and more experienced guitar students.
