Sean is a phenomenal trainer who tailors workouts based upon individual goals and needs. His background in gymnastics as well as NPC competitions is priceless. He is patient and flexible and takes his time with you while also explaining how best to maximize your workouts for the greatest success. True professional and very skilled trainer. I recommend him to anyone no matter what their fitness goals are. I’ve been working with him for 3 weeks now. I’ve lost 2 inches in my waist as well as have gained muscle and lost 6 pounds so far. Sean is amazing! He provides the guidance and expertise and you provide the effort (sweat and hard work) in the gym! Team work makes the dream work!!
AfterBurns Fitness and Performance has been the main source of my family's fitness achievements for well over a decade and has helped us meet and exceed our fitness goals! As a former Division I college athlete, I am in the best shape of my life 20 years after my last college game! As the father of 2 aspiring collegiate athletes, the workouts, sport science, nutrition information, and motivation obtained from Afterburns are all reasons we are lifelong clients. As the husband of working spouse who has to make sure my wife can get the most out of her fitness experience in the least amount of time, I am thrilled that Afterburns has helped us achieve exceptional results in spite of her busy work schedule. There is no substitute for results and Afterburns' disciplined oriented approach is the reason why I am fortunate to be counted among their many successful clients!
I have always been reluctant to get a personal trainer because I thought I could do it myself; not to mention it was very costly. After months of frustration not seeing the results I expected, I decided to post on Thumbtack to get pricing for personal training. I received multiple calls and emails from various trainers in the area. Robert, from Fitness Stop, called with detailed information about his weight loss and strength training plan. Because of the information he provided, and I can assure you the other trainers did not give me this information, I was convinced I needed to meet with him for an initial assessment. After 6 weeks of following his plan, I've lost a little over 4% body fat and gained lean muscle mass. Not only do I feel healthier and more energetic, I've lost weight and inches! I've worked with majority of their trainers, and they are all amazing! Each workout is different to prevent your body from hitting a plateau. Not only that, but it breaks of the monotony of the average mundane workout. I would 110% recommend Fitness Stop for not only weight loss but overall improvement of health.
Coach Byrd is more than a great personal trainer. He's helped me overcome some personal issues with my body with encouragement and a great workout plan. My diet was horrible. Fast food everyday. He's helped me transition to an all organic diet. I am down 50 lbs in 4 months I couldn't be more happy with my body and also how I feel now. He will definitely have me bikini ready for Cancun on my birthday this summer. Thank you sooooooo much!!!!! ;-)
I work out with Aaron 3-4x week. I needed an experienced trainer who would take my fitness goals to the next level, and I must say Aaron has far exceeded my expectations. I'm gearing for my first body building competition this year, and Aaron thus far has taken me where I haven't been in a long time. Prior to meeting, he chatted with me for over 30 minutes about my goals & workout style. We both decided we were a good fit for each other and I started a week later. The workouts are always challenging and fun at the same time. Each time we do something different and I could feel and see my results immediately. Aaron himself is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, professional and intelligent. I highly recommend Aaron for any fitness goals you may have. You can't go wrong.
Know Competition has great trainors, such as Kevin! From day one he listened to my husband and I and figured out what works best for the client and helped us learn how to incorporate a healthy living style without trying to change "us". I would give him a million thumbs up but, it only goes up to 5. Thank you for helping us in achieving our goals!
I had an amazing experience with Coach Alexey! I purchased a package of personal training sessions, which were conducted at his Forak Fysique studio. What I like most about Coach Alexey is that he did not have me do any confusing gimmicks or silly movements that so many other trainers focus on. He not only developed an amazing program for me to follow for months to come, but he set up proper form on important compound exercises, such as the squat, deadlift, bench, etc. I also signed up for a diet plan, which he updated every two weeks. I still continue to have my diets and training plans updated by Forak Fysique and take several training sessions per month to keep myself updated. Overall, I've lost 20 pounds, but most importantly I gained quality muscles in my glute and leg region. I'm proud of my toned body and a very happy client! Alexey's approach is truly unique and I highly recommend him to all my friends!
Life Changing! Where to start? I started working out with Janet after I had my first child at 36. I was overweight and out of shape, and not feeling good about myself. I started on my own, walking, taking classes at the gym (and had previously worked-out with other trainers). While I lost a few pounds and my conditioning improved - I stalled completely and was no where close to where I wanted/needed to be. I started working out with Janet twice a week, followed her cardio and meal plans on my own, and lost 25 pounds (went from a size 12 to 4 in about 9 months total, but the majority of the body transformation I saw with her within 3 months - follow her eating philosophy!). Even better - I got pregnant with my second child at 38 (almost 39) and continued with Janet through my 1st and 2nd trimesters, followed her eating philosophy (it is a lifestyle change) and only gained 22 pounds, all of it lost by 3 weeks post-partum. I'm 3 months post-partum, just started back, and I'm now 5 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. I feel great and haven't looked this good since my 20's - I'll be 40 next month. It feels wonderful to be in great shape for myself, and my children (two little boys in your 40's require a lot of energy) and even more wonderful to have people comment that they can't believe I just had a baby. The thing I love about Janet is she really believes her philosophy (that eating right and working out is a lifestyle - not all trainers I've worked with are passionate like this). It's inspiring, also - being "middle-aged" and knowing that you can be in great shape and look great is inspiring (Janet also had her youngest child at 39 - so it's believable that you can be in the best shape of your life regardless of age - just look at her for some inspiration!). I had such a healthy pregnancy working with her before, during, and now after - she has improved the quality of my life. She will not disappoint! I know this probably sounds like she's paying me to write this because I can't say enough good things, but she has truly been inspiring and life-changing for me!
Amazing results, I came to Adriana less than 2 weeks from my competition (after working with another nutritionist) and she adjusted my plan immediately, thank you so much!
Working out with Rib from Why'z Up Fitness is more than a workout...its a life changing experience! From day one, he expressed a genuine interest in your goals and overall health, Incorporating a routine specially designed to meet your personal needs. A motivator and health coach, Rob routinely stays in touch with you outside of normal training times to keep you focused on your goals. The proof of your results is through how he lives and trains... Try him out, you won't be disappointed!
I found Deonte on thumbtack and he's is very professional. The whole process of finding a trainer was quite scary for me as there are many bad trainers out there but Deonte made me feel very comfortable and confident about the process. I look forward to training with him!
Justi brought results - simple as that. 15 pounds gone, and plenty of new definition. Body fat under 14 now. He was always available for questions and encouragement. Totally businesslike, Justin is a reliable and enthusiastic coach with deep knowledge and obvious success - just take a look at his CV and his photos. His own work in competitions made him the ideal coach for me because he walks the walk. My own progress continues. For a while, I'm going it alone, but somehow, I know I'll be back when I get stuck on the next plateau.
Whether you want to lose weight, rehab an injury, or learn where your own personal fitness limits are...MJ is the best trainer for all of that and more! He has one of the most impressive resumes a Coach/Trainer/Therapist can have and he is attentive and careful especially with muscle imbalances or weaknesses. I have learned more about myself, fitness-wise, in the past year than in the 30+ history in the gym. I am a chiropractor and a former personal trainer so I greatly appreciate his knowledge of physiology and kinesiology. You won't be disappointed with his routine that he personally tailors to your needs and abilities...but be ready to work hard! He certainly won't let you quit on yourself.
Most trainers only train their clients to workout, Chris trains his clients to make lifestyle changes. Chris goes above and beyond to help me understand my body and the way it works. This in turn keeps me motivated. For example, when Chris first started training me I became discouraged from all the hard work but perceived lack of results I saw on the scale; he told me that I wasn't losing weight the first three weeks of working out because when you build muscle, your body retains water. Had I known this face I wouldn't have quit the gym on various occasions after only two weeks. But this is in hindsight, because as Chris taught me, its never too late to change your habits. Chris even goes as far as to give me a nutrition plan based on how I want my body to look. Chris loves what he does and he wants everyone to love their body. Moreover, the tolerance and willpower working out gives you is unfound and I am stronger mentally because of it. I am so lucky to have met Chris. He has a great team with him and even when our schedules are out of sync he has referred me to Vincent who also shares the same passion and desire as Chris does.
Mike is a knowledgeable and dedicated trainer. His knowledge level and his true understanding of the physical mechanics of the human body are demonstrated in his ability to train and motivate clients of varying levels. He goes out of his way to customize workout routines to meet my fitness goals and motivates me to do my best in a positive way. I am very impressed by his vast knowledge of how the different muscle groups in the body interrelate. Also, he's been able to help me fully understand how to work out properly ensuring injuries do not occur and encourages me to push myself. He willingly shares his expertise to make sessions fun, challenging, and a learning experience. Moreover, I definitely appreciate his extra effort in making sure I stay on track outside of our sessions he briefs me on changing my eating habits to further help me along with my fitness goals and gives me workout routines to do as "homework" between sessions.
I asked for coach Dennisons help in designing a nutrional plan to help me prepare for an up coming jujitsu tournament. Coach Dennison prepared a specific and detailed plan tailored to my goals and my body to help me reach to weight I wished to compete at in a short time while not compromising the intensity of my training. I would certainly consult with Coach Dennison again when preparing for future competitions.
I came to Jarrett as an experienced distance runner starting to show his age. As an experienced running coach, I knew that in order to maintain a competitive level of training as I get older I would need to do appropriate strength training but I also knew that my knowledge in that area was sorely lacking. Jarrett has helped me enormously in the last year in two ways. First, he has systematically identified and corrected deficiencies in my strength which in turn has kept me injury free and improving. Second, he has always been willing to discuss the reasons WHY we have done each and every exercise. I highly recommend Jarrett as a coach and I am also very grateful for the knowledge and understanding that he has brought to my training.
An amazing trainer he really knows his stuff! When I first came to Dylan I hardly lifted much weight and had never done a deadlift before, my nutrition was also lacking. After seeing Dylan for just a couple of months my nutrition got a lot better and I went from deadlifting nothing to repping out 165 for five! He is a great coach as well as motivator and will make sure you reach your goals! Be sure to check him out!
Ed has been my Personal Trainer for the past 2 years and has helped me through my many fitness goals. I originally started working with Ed to lose weight. Once I met me goal weight I switched gears and wanted to focus on my running endurance, Ed switched my training to meet that goal. For the past couple of months I have wanted to work of muscle definition. Once again Ed was there with a new training plan and how I'm loving the results. I tried to do it alone but found that I more consistent & saw far better results when working with Ed a couple times a week. So, if being my Personal Trainer wasn't enough, he's currently in Massage Therapy school and convinced me to get a massage from him. I was a bit skeptical at first but as it turns out, Ed's just as professional & skilled in massages as he is in Personal Training. To date, he has given me 5 massages. Each time he has been completely professional, addressed my problem areas, and given an amazingly relaxing massage.
After having been to countless gyms, personal trainers, and wellness centers over the years, with varying results, I can confidently say that Drew has been, hands down, the best among them; a true "diamond in the rough". The service Drew provides is not just a workout session, it is a comprehensive, individualized plan, built from the ground up, that is designed not just to give you a workout, but to give you the education and the tools to achieve and maintain your goals for the rest of your life. When I first met Drew, he took great time and care to find out what I wanted and what would work for me, and then designed a strategy to achieve those goals in a way that was both realistic for me, and highly effective. Not only does Drew provide results, but he educates, and he practices what he preaches. His methods are firmly rooted in modern exercise and nutrition science, and he takes the time and the care to explain why the things he has you do are important. Drew has also been the only personal trainer I have ever had who has consistently kept in touch with me and patiently answered all of my stupid questions! Since coming to Drew I have lost over 60 pounds and have not felt this good since I was a teenager! I strongly recommend that anyone who wants to make a better, healthier change in their life, see Drew for a consultation. Thanks Drew!!
Toms Dedication to my success I leg press 700 pounds (not a typo) now, lift a little more than half my body weight in pull-ups and dips, and bench press roughly 35 pounds on average. In order to understand what a true accomplishment this is you must first understand the obstacles I was forced to overcome and how Tom helped me through it all. I was in a major car accident in 2011. The vehicle hit mine head on. My car battery was moved from the front left to the back center. The steel plate my chair rested on broke in half and dropped. The vehicle stopped just shy of the dashboard and firewall. I was unable to work for 3 months. For those 3 months my life consisted of nothing but doctors appointments, medicine, and slow physical therapy. The doctors told me I was lucky I wasnt paralyzed. They said because I worked out prior to my accident (roughly 5-7 hours a week for 3 months) my muscles were able to absorb the impact but now theyre stuck and would need to be drugged to unclench and then I would have to relearn how to use each and every muscle in my body. I took a total of 3 months of physical therapy and followed every instruction they gave me determined to get better. They said I could now function well enough to get by in life and I was released. What this meant was I could now walk for a few minutes without help or getting winded. I could stand for roughly 5 minutes before feeling total exhaustion. My doctor told me I would be on pain medication for the rest of my life. The doctors even offered to paralyze nerve endings so I wouldnt feel the pain. I was greatly discouraged but unable to accept a lifetime of drugs and pain. I went to a local gym that hired full-time personal trainers. I met with the manager on staff and after explaining my story he gave me a look that said we cant help her, but well leave that to the trainer. He told me they only had 1 trainer on staff with the kind of qualifications I needed who MIGHT be able to help me. I met Tom. Tom sat me down for a consultation asking me my limitations and goals. As I explained each and every medical condition, I became very discouraged. For the first time, I thought there was no hope for me. He took thorough notes and said Okay, give me a few days to come up with an exercise plan. I could see his mind working and I was afraid he would turn me away even after his encouragement. I met with Tom for the first training session. He learned very quickly my muscle strength was so limited I had trouble lifting my arms or legs let alone any added weight or resistance. I was determined not to let him down or show any weakness by saying I cant. Tom would watch every move and watch my face and he would stop me while doing exercises because he could see my pain and he would relentlessly ask what hurt. When I would tell him, instead of getting discouraged he would simply tell me Okay, I know another way to exercise that muscle without straining these muscles. He would then lead me through another exercise and carefully watch to make sure I didnt hurt myself. After the first month of working out with Tom, I slept a full nights sleep without pain in my neck. These are the same muscles with nerve endings the doctors wanted to paralyze. After 6 months of training I was stronger than where I started in some areas before the accident. After a year, I had full range and I was able to use some form of resistance or weights on all muscle groups. I have continued to hire Tom each year and while the gym we work out as has changed in addition to my workout goals, the workouts are still just as challenging and ever changing. I have gone from complete discouragement and a sense of despair to hopeful and excited to workout. The highlights in my week are my workouts because I know that each goal is within reach and Tom is the perfect expert trainer to help me meet each and every goal I set for myself. We are both still amazed at how far I have come from where I started. To this day I have not seen or heard of a trainer to be his equal. Tom changes the workout routines consistently. He focuses on your goals and not on what he thinks your goals should be. He is a trainer who utilizes every piece of equipment and environment for physical growth (parks, outdoor/ indoor, machines, free weights, and all forms of cardio equipment). My personal favorites are the heavy bag, leg press, and bench press. Tom challenges me and he is the ONLY TRAINER I will ever work with. I thank God for Tom and greatly appreciate all he has done for me. While he pushed me to succeed physically he also helped restore my faith in myself. Tom taught me its not a competition between my physical abilities and others but rather its a personal challenge to grow spiritually and physically. ~Tricia
