Sean has been a great teacher. He uses my interests to move me forward in what I should and want to know. The lessons are always interesting and what he always provides me with a good project for the week that makes me want to play and hold on to the new skills during the week. He is a great teacher.
My 13 year old is taking saxophone classes with James. He is wonderful teacher, always on time, very positive and great at motivating students. We feel my daughter has make much improvement in just a few lessons. I highly recommend Cadenza Studios!
I've been seeing Keith for about 6 months now, I've been drumming for about 4 years, I'm 35 now. I wanted to progress my drumming ability beyond what I learned in the past few years. I originally just wanted to meet for a few lessons to critique my technique, now I see him week to week. I felt Keith was the right guy because he's a seasoned and passionate drummer. He learned directly from the masters, ones who literally wrote the books on modern drumming and shaped modern sound. In a short amount of time he's identified many of my bad habits and helped me to correct them. My technique and grip has improved night and day, I can drum with much more finesse and speed after adopting and practicing his techniques. He urged me to learn to sight read, something I didn't really consider, and now I surprise when I practice myself because I always thought it was too much effort. After practicing his lessons, my independence between limbs, especially left hand on the snare - I didn't think I could do it this easily. I get a lot out of my time with Keith, and I go out of my way to see him weekly. I see kids as young as 5 absolutely jamming in his studio, and older folks too, older than me. His teaching demeanor and general vibe is professional and encouraging. He has a real passion for drums, absolutely key in finding the right teacher. So in short, if you want to step your drumming up, or if your kids need lessons, Keith is your guy.
Mr. Grattan provided videography, a band, and a duo, for my daughter's wedding. It was such a relief having all of that in the hands of one person instead of three different vendors. The band was called the Rockits, and they were fantastic. They played great music and when they went on break, they played new music like a DJ would. It was really perfect. The duo was PG&Robin. They were really good for the beginning when people were heading in and having a champagne before the ceremony. The video Mr. Grattan did was really professional and my daughter got it within a week, which is unheard of. She got a long and short one. I highly recommend Mr. Grattan and PG Productions for video and entertainment.
I began lessons with Andrew Toy about a month ago. Very personable and talented musician. My main reason for taking up lessons was to increase my drum vocabulary. I do not read music but have been playing drums since I was a teenager. I am now 84 and enjoying it personally but have had a few "gigs" here and there. Not only am I learning new variations but Andrew is introducing me to reading music. He is a good teacher; very patient and personable. Thanks for recommending him. It has been a great learning experience for my two daughters. I dont think I could ever find a better piano teacher. Not only does Ms. Heather share her great talent with my kids, she is also very friendly and always cheerful and looking forward to teaching them. My daughters have improved dramatically since we started with her a few years ago. We also really enjoy the convenience of in home lessons! I highly recommend Lessons In Your Home for music lessons. My daughters now look forward to their piano practice daily. Great Falls, VA Resident
I worked with John for over four years, sharing the bandstand as performers, and also going into the classroom as music educators all around the United States. John is a versatile and talented percussionist! He is capable of playing many different styles and is well versed on all percussion instruments. John is a constant pro and I have always enjoyed creating music with him. As an educator John is thoughtful, caring, and informative. His style is one that is easy for students to relate to and inspires growth. He takes on not only the role of music educator, but also one as mentor. John's performing experience and passion for music blends with his love of encouraging and helping young musicians in such a way that his students have no choice but to show consistent progress as players, but also as people.
I was new to the drumming world and was welcomed by everyone working at 7D from the start. I was struck by the talent and friendliness of all of the instructors and crew. The staff creates an inclusive space for all levels and kinds of musicians and music lovers to practice, take classes or just hang out and share ideas. You can tell they are excited for you to learn and progress. I have visited other cities looking for a similar vibe in other drum practice studios when traveling for work, but have not yet found it. It is truly a unique space.
My son has been taking drum lessons with Jason for almost a year- he is a wonderful, patient teacher. He looks for unique ways to connect with his students and keep them engaged- for example, my 6yo son loves Michael Jackson, so that’s been incorporated in. He also loves songs by Muse, and Jason has creatively woven that into beat/timing lessons. I can not recommend Jason enough to anyone looking to learn drums.
I do drum set and snare drum lessons including sticking, stick control, technique, double bass, time, rhythm and meter. Thank you for your interest. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Frankey has been the drummer for our church over the last seven years. He has matured into a very gifted drummer. He is reliable, conscientious, professional, and a great musician.
Our son (now 8) has been taking lessons with the studio for about 2 years now. The teachers are great, share their love of music, make the lessons fun and serious all at the same time.
I teach all levels of drums. I also teach beginner/intermediate guitar and bass. Every student advances to the next level per lesson. The fun thing about teaching in my private studio allows each lesson to be captured on video and audio. I supply instruments during the lessons and I accompany in a band setting. This gives each student a live performance experience along with each lesson.
Mike is an amazing teacher! He is incredibly knowledgable and is willing to work with you where you are. I was around 34 when I started taking drumming lessons with Mike and didn't know much about reading music. It was my first time holding drum sticks and within the first two lessons I had a good understanding of how to read notes and apply what I've learned practically. Within the first couple of months I was doing well and could pretty much understand how to dissect a song, play along and keep up with the pace. My questions were always answered and he worked with me so well whenever I was stuck. Beyond teaching music, Mike very encouraging has an impressive ability to work through intellectual obstacles, equipping his clients with the tools they need to keep progressing and moving forward. I WISH I had starting working with Mike when I was a young kid, but he was probably not born yet...and two continents away. I wholeheartedly recommend this teacher!!!!!!! If you have an opportunity to work with Mike, take it!
I wanted to learn to play Ukelele and YouTube wasn't really helping, so I started to get lessons with Luis cause I had seen him playing and saw some of his students playing as well. I was surprised I was playing my first chords in no time. He was so patient and made me believe I could do it and gave me that push to keep trying when I wanted to give up cause my fingers are so small, and I thought I was never gonna be able to get the chords right, but he would encourage me every class and even took the trouble to place my fingers the right way every time. I messed up a lot but he never made me feel bad about it, not even with facial expressions like other teachers do. I really appreciate the effort and interest he puts in every lesson. He's a very talented, experienced musician and a super patient teacher. Would totally recommend. 10/10
I'm a young professional drummer with 17 years of experience in percussion. I got started in a school band and stayed sharp drumming in rock bands throughout high school, college, and even graduate school. These days, I tour the country as part of an indie/alternative rock duo. When I'm not on the road, I am available to give lessons for beginner- and intermediate-level drummers. My approach to drumming revolves around skill and enthusiasm for the craft. I owe much of my proficiency and success to a private instructor I had years back. I'm starting Proven Drum Lessons because I'm confident that I can make the same type of lasting positive impact on today's crop of students. For what it's worth, I'm also an economist with a Master of Science degree from a prominent research university. Hence, the intersection of my background and experience makes me uniquely qualified to offer perspectives on the financial side of life as a musician. This could also be of some use to an aspiring drummer. My pricing is reasonable and I'm a punctual, friendly, and reliable person. I've also developed patience, having taught economics to undergraduates at the university and community college levels. On a good day, I'd like to think I'm also a cool guy and someone to look up to. If you or someone you know is looking for lessons, reach out! I'd love to start a discussion. Kevin Founder, Proven Drum Lessons
