Debbie is timely and well organized. Every interaction I have had with her has been positive. It is clear she loves her job. I am confident my children will love learning how to play the piano with her.
After a great stint of piano and violin lessons, we just began with Johnny Walker, Aida's strings teacher, to start my son on cello. We are so impressed with him - he knows HOW to teach, asking questions, guiding my son to think and understand rather than a mere demonstrate-and-repeat style. My son immediately took to him and can hardly wait between lessons for the next. Thank you!
My 9 year old son has only been taking lessons for two months, so this is a very limited experience, but we plan to stick around! Magdalina is very kind and patient with him, explaining the new lesson without rushing, commending him on homework well done, and encouraging his interest. He loves his piano lessons and looks forward to them. Magdalina's schedule works very well for me, as I was able to pick a convenient time. She was very flexible when I asked to reschedule a couple of times. Also, the lesson environment is very pleasant - it's clean and spacious.
I am a fan of piano lessons with Sean primarily because he works at your pace and works with the direction you want to move toward with your music. He is extremely flexible with scheduling lessons - I decided to meet on a bi-weekly basis and whenever a need has come up to postpone a lesson, he has always been very understanding and hasn't had any problem with rescheduling. I have only been taking lessons for a few months with Sean and this was my first time learning how to read and play piano music, but I can already hear the difference from what it was like when I first started to now. He does focus in on technique, yet also allows time for playing music that you want to play. If you're a student that enjoys a little more flexibility and less rigid lessons, this is the instructor for you. He is extremely reliable and great with responding back to you. His passion for piano music is clear and if you ever get a chance to hear him play, he's great to listen to on the piano!
Joshua is patient, kind and brings with him a thoughtful approach to teaching young people the piano. My son was reluctant to having formal piano lessons (similar to Joshua, my son was self teaching himself). But he has responded favorably to having Joshua as a teacher/coach. Kudos Josh.
Hello - I'm happy to share our experience with Serini Piano Studio! Our son, age 10, has been a student of Serini Piano Studios for about a year and half. We also just recently started lessons for our 6 year old son. I couldn't recommend a better teacher. Her style is so warm and nourishing, yet she keeps the kids on task and really productive. She has a great feel for each kids' strengths and draws on their personality and adapts her lessons to the student. My oldest son has ADHD and can lose focus very easily, but she manages to keep him interested and thriving with his lessons and love of piano. We hope to continue with Serini Piano Studio for years to come!
I have used Alvin Smithson's services for over five years as a piano tuner, teacher and performer. I am always impressed with his skills, artistry and professionalism. Alvin first came to tune my 100-years old Steinway after it had been neglected for a number of years. He first examined the instrument, diagnosed what needed to be done and then proceeded with his expert tuning. Immediately after he was done and started playing, I was amazed at how good the piano sounded. Alvin explained that with a piano that hasn't been tuned or played in so many years, it will take some time to achieve its best form and sound for which it was built. A short time after, my wife started taking piano lessons from Alvin and as she started gaining proficiency in playing under his guidance, the piano itself gained a rich pleasing sound. Alvin paid close attention and adjusted notes or did a full tuning whenever needed. He also took the time to clean the strings and do minor technical adjustments. When a string needed to be replaced, Alvin recommended a technician from a highly reputable company. Overall, we owe it to his expertise to have the wonderful old piano do what it was built for by the Steinway masters. I should also mention that I heard some great musicians at venues where Alvin is the regular piano tuner. People who visit our house and hear our piano, or play it themselves, always compliment its sound. But the best comes when Alvin himself sits at the keyboard, whether at our house, at a social function or performing in the theater, it's such a joy to hear him play some great classical pieces as well as his own wonderful compositions. He is truly a very talented, sensitive and highly knowledgeable artist. And such a pleasant person, too. My wife and I feel fortunate to have Alvin give us the best piano sound to enjoy live music in our home. I would recommend him to anyone as piano tuner, teacher and overall musician.
Laurie is very thougtful and kind. She has been taught piano to my 10-year-old daughter since this June. Laurie is always calm and helpful. We love our piano lesson. These days, my daughter plays piano pretty well and I’m happy I can enjoy beautiful piano!
My kids made great progress in just one year. They love her and she is very good with kids. She is very patient and is able to motivate them to do well. We highly recommend her to anyone wishing to learn Piano.
Jenna has been teaching our 3 1/2 year old daughter for about 4 months now and our daughter continues to love her piano lessons. At first we were going to start with 1 hr lessons, but Miss Jenna gave us great advice after the first lesson and we moved to 1/2 hr on a weekly basis. I believe this is a great example of Miss Jenna's character and her ability to read children attention span. Our daughter looks forward to her weekly lessons which makes us happy she is learning to love an instrument I have always loved and never got the opportunity to learn.
Lisa C. is my daughter's piano teacher. She has highly skills in piano and always shows the greatest patience in teaching. She is professional in piano and music theory. My daughter very love her and learn more from her. My daughter and I always give high appraisal to her ability and teaching. I and my daughter thank a lot for her long-term good work in teaching.
Sammy is a wonderful music teacher. I've taken piano and voice lessons from him for the past few months and have seen much improvement. He's always very friendly and professional. I always feel comfortable around him as he creates a safe environment where mistakes are ok. He is very knowledgeable and is able to adjust to even the most rudimentary of lessons. He always gives positive feedback and constructive critiques. I fully recommend Sammy to anyone at any level looking to learn more about music!
I have known Joanna for over 30 years now, and know that even back then she had a sheer musicality both at guitar and keyboards. Her handling of elementary school students of any grade when teaching, then middle school and older, was always carefully measured, often catering to individual needs in order to bring out or focus musical gifts, or simply to raise the level of a student's appreciation for art. She has kept that measure of regard for students of all ages since she went into non-school teaching. I also would assure anybody who wants to send a younger student to her that if after an appropriate period of time she felt they were not progressing or that music was perhaps not a good fit for them that she would be honest about that to the parents rather than have anybody waste time and resources trying to engage a child with other interests. But her goal has always been, as I have observed, to find a way to engage them in the first place. Results and honesty, as well as musical passion. What more need be said. (Please know that as a professional musician myself that this is as unbiased an opinion as I can possibly render.)
Marc is such a delight to work with. He is an excellent piano teacher, patient with the kids, teaches them not only how to play but the music theory and historical context. He is super organized and helpful when it comes to scheduling too. So glad we found Marc!
Singing in church choirs has been a wonderful outlet and enabled me to find a community as I moved every few years to different parts of the globe. Finally putting down roots, I wanted to find a voice coach who would help me improve breath control, strengthen the range of my voice, and improve the overall quality of my singing. I am blessed to have found Keely Bosworth Borland, a gifted soprano and performer. Keely has been the perfect coach for me. She has a unique ability to both nurture and push me. Keely has identified and helped me work on my breath control. She has used a wide variety of music to foster my confidence while stretching my vocal range. Her lessons include a selection of vocal warm-ups and breathing exercises each week that compliment the music we sing. I have found that recording her lessons and rehearsing them between lessons to be of great help. I highly recommend Keely to anyone looking for a voice coach from the novice to the serious performer.
Chris is an awesome teacher! He has been such an inspiration to my young teen son who never played piano before Chris. He goes the extra mile with his students, is innovative, keeps my son's attention and motivates! He not only teaches traditional music that he knows is appropriate for the level and ability of his students, but also allows them to request their own songs of interest to learn. He keeps communication open with parents. My son has learned so much! Definitely the best! Highly recommend!
Amanda was great with my young children and really got them excited about piano.
My name is Isabella and have been studying with David for about 10 years now. I started taking lessons when I was 5 and I am currently 15. Dave is a phenomenal player and an even more wonderful and caring person. He is very professional and gives meaningful feedback. I have learned so much and I continue to learn something every lesson. We study mainly classical composers, but he is very flexible with whatever you want to play, and he always believes in your musical ability. I have played Beethoven's Sonata No. 8 in C minor, and more recently Chopin's Polonaise in A major the "Military Polonaise". Dave has sparked my passion for music and I hope to one day become a concert pianist. I am truly thankful for all that he has done and continues to do for me and all of his other students.
We met for first time today. Jennifer has been very good with communicating with us. Jennifer is very kind and my son really enjoyed his first session. Looking forward to more piano lessons....
Yuki, is by far the best piano teacher we have ever had. Her ability to engage her students and motivate them is unparalleled. She also brings her own depth of understanding of music theory to her teaching which allows her students to really understand not only how to play, but how to compose. Finally, I have to add that she is also just a super nice person. Highly recommend.
Claudette is an excellent piano teacher and has a very structured and professional program for her students. My daughter has made amazing progress in a very short time and always looks forward to her lesson. Also, space that is set aside for lessons and for a waiting room for parents in her home are very nice and comfortable. All the way around, I would highly recommend her as a piano instructor!
