Tona is an amazingly compassionate and dedicated instructor. She provides voice, violin, and piano lessons to my 3 children; with great flexibility to their varying interests and moods. They are developing a wonderful appreciation for music and the capacity to make their own. Tona is very talented, open, and dedicated to her profession. I would recommend her without reservation.

We just started lessons with Ms Wanlu. My daughter’s first class was incredible in my opinion. She tapped into things that no other instructor ever did. She is clearly a young and talented instructor. We are excited about our future lessons!

I have completed four lessons with Crystal at M Institute for the Arts. I found the online booking system works well, and my lessons begin promptly. The classes are hosted in a nice location in Georgetown, and I have found Crystal to be a very encouraging and patient teacher. Looking forward to continuing!

I have used Alvin Smithson's services for over five years as a piano tuner, teacher and performer. I am always impressed with his skills, artistry and professionalism. Alvin first came to tune my 100-years old Steinway after it had been neglected for a number of years. He first examined the instrument, diagnosed what needed to be done and then proceeded with his expert tuning. Immediately after he was done and started playing, I was amazed at how good the piano sounded. Alvin explained that with a piano that hasn't been tuned or played in so many years, it will take some time to achieve its best form and sound for which it was built. A short time after, my wife started taking piano lessons from Alvin and as she started gaining proficiency in playing under his guidance, the piano itself gained a rich pleasing sound. Alvin paid close attention and adjusted notes or did a full tuning whenever needed. He also took the time to clean the strings and do minor technical adjustments. When a string needed to be replaced, Alvin recommended a technician from a highly reputable company. Overall, we owe it to his expertise to have the wonderful old piano do what it was built for by the Steinway masters. I should also mention that I heard some great musicians at venues where Alvin is the regular piano tuner. People who visit our house and hear our piano, or play it themselves, always compliment its sound. But the best comes when Alvin himself sits at the keyboard, whether at our house, at a social function or performing in the theater, it's such a joy to hear him play some great classical pieces as well as his own wonderful compositions. He is truly a very talented, sensitive and highly knowledgeable artist. And such a pleasant person, too. My wife and I feel fortunate to have Alvin give us the best piano sound to enjoy live music in our home. I would recommend him to anyone as piano tuner, teacher and overall musician.

My daughter progressed so well and earned the senior trophy right on time before going off to college. We are so proud of what Horwitz Studio has done with her. Our teenage daughter started with Yuki several years ago, uncertain if she would last more than a few months. Since then, the lessons have been going so well that we have bought a new piano. In fact, I (her father) have started taking lessons with Yuki as well. Yuki is very friendly, patient and a great teacher. Highly recommended.

I began taking piano lessons with Ms. Marcinko in March 2011, a month before my 15th birthday. The prospect of learning how to play an instrument for the first time as a young adult can feel a bit intimidating, but fortunately for me Ms. Marcinko was able to help make the experience pain-free! To start off, Ms. Marcinko recommended two beginner books which helped me learn how to sight read, as well as become more comfortable with the instrument. With Ms. Marcinko’s help, I was then able to quickly move onto playing pieces by Chopin, Beethoven, Bach and Granados, just to name a few! As a student of Ms. Marcinko's, I have had the privilege of being able to participate with piano auditions through the National Guild of Piano Teachers, as well as play at the annual recitals held for family and friends. If you are looking for a music teacher who really enjoys getting to know their students, while also helping them to stretch themselves musically, then look no further! I would recommend Ms. Marcinko in a heartbeat.

My 9 year old son has only been taking lessons for two months, so this is a very limited experience, but we plan to stick around! Magdalina is very kind and patient with him, explaining the new lesson without rushing, commending him on homework well done, and encouraging his interest. He loves his piano lessons and looks forward to them. Magdalina's schedule works very well for me, as I was able to pick a convenient time. She was very flexible when I asked to reschedule a couple of times. Also, the lesson environment is very pleasant - it's clean and spacious.

Excellent teacher who teaches music very holistically: not just how to play the piano but ear-training, theory, improvising, music history, and more. My son has made huge gains in just two years. Highly recommend.

Ms. Rudenko is by far one of the finest piano instructors in Northern Virginia. Not only is she a brilliant and accomplished pianist, but she is also a kind and compassionate teacher. In our lessons she always produced a perfect balance of hard work and fun. She created a nurturing and motivating environment in each of my lessons. Ms. Rudenko encouraged me to be a more thoughtful and inquisitive musician and it has forever molded my career as a teacher and performer. Prior to studying with Ms. Rudenko I studied piano for over seven years and I feel that I made more progress while working with her in just two years. If you study with Ms. Rudenko you will receive conservatory-level training in a positive, fun and productive setting. She is warm, welcoming and she produces results. Her qualifications and accomplishments combined with her joyous spirit, energy and patience make her an exquisite teacher.

Our 16 year old daughter is currently a student of Mrs. Bennett. Mrs. Bennett is very professional and polished. Our daughter has taken private lessons with Mrs. Bennett since the third grade. Our daughter can read music and play the piano beautifully without music in front of her. In today’s busy world in Loudoun County, our daughter finds playing the piano relaxing. She loves Mrs. Bennett and she is able to provide direction and instruction to our daughter in a professional pleasing way. We would highly reccomend Mrs. Bennett for anyone interested in taking piano lessons. Mrs. Bennett also works with us when we have to be out of town. We appreciate Mrs. Bennett’s knowledge, ability, and professionalism. Doug & Liz Gant, Ashburn, VA

I am the head of the vocal dept. at Hillsdale College in MI. Sadie was an accompanist in my studio for four years. She was always prepared for my singers and spent time outside of lessons to help them and rehearse with them. She is extremely musical and is an excellent sight reader. She has a very affable personality and is very fun to be around. I would recommend her for any accompanying job as well as teaching of younger students. She is relialbe and well versed in much vocal music as well as piano literature. Sometimes she takes on too much and that is the only thing that I would have her work on to better her performance. That was in a college setting which can be very stressful when combined with other studies. In the professional world I don't think that would be a problem. She is a very well rounded musician and would be able to excel in many venues. I recommend her most highly.
