Planning ahead

Things to know before you get started.
7 Steps to Renting a Wedding Limo
  1. 1. Research styles

Consider the type of limo that you want. Choose between stretch limos, 18-20 passenger Hummers, Coach limo buses, classic cars and other styles of limos.

  2. 2. Reserve ahead

Book the limo approximately 6 to 9 months in advance, if possible. The earlier you book your limo, the more options you have.

  3. 3. Plan for extra time

Add an extra half-hour to each leg of the trip. That way, you can sit back and relax, even if there’s a lot of traffic during your wedding day.

  4. 4. Stay cool

Make sure the air conditioning works. You don’t want to show up to your wedding hot and sweaty, so talk to the limo company about the A/C before you book anything.

  5. 5. Make calculations

Get the full price before booking the limo. Pricing often includes the hours, mileage and fuel. In addition, you are required to pay the tolls during the ride. Some companies also include the tip.

  6. 6. Go big

Book a limo that is technically bigger than what you need. If you are traveling with 20 people, don’t choose a limo that fits a maximum of 20. Leave some extra space to move around and take pictures.

  7. 7. Plan ahead for backup

Check the company’s fleet of limos. If a company only has one or two vehicles, it might not be able to provide a backup if something happens to your limo.
