I have played guitar since I was 12 and am now 64. When I decided to expand my knowledge of the guitar and improve my technique there was only one person in my mind to go to, Jimmy Dykes. Jimmy' knowledge of all styles of music, his knowledge of reading, his knowledge of the fretboard is as good as it gets. His passion for guitar and the desire to pass this on through teaching makes him an outstanding instructor. I have recommended Jimmy to anyone who wants to take lessons on guitar or bass whether they are beginners or someone, like myself, who have played for a long time and want to take their playing to a higher level and expand their horizons.

I've been taking guitar lessons from Jay for about 1&1/2 years! Because of Jay's teaching method and patience, I have more than surpassed all expectations I had about being able to play the guitar. My goals were to learn how to play the guitar if I could and have FUN doing it! Jay's method, 'Vertical Truth' is easy to comprehend and with Jay's help I am playing more songs than I could have ever imagined. Also with Jay's help I have been able to begin transferring what knowledge of music theory I have from playing other instruments to the guitar! Simply put, Jays method of teaching is designed to help each student at their own pace as no two individuals are the same! 'Vertical Truth' is a fabulous way to learn how to play the guitar and Jay is a GREAT teacher! Thanks Jay!!!!👍

Great company and an even better instructor. Leigh Ann has done a great job teaching me the French language. She is very adaptable to my learning style, and she goes above and beyond to make sure I’m getting the most out of her lessons. I highly recommend going to the Language and Music House. It will improve your language skills and make you enthusiastic for all the possibilities of world travel.

I like this instructor because he builds the lessons based on my son's skill levels instead of the old cookie cutter "Here, learn these chords" methods like instructors I've had in the past. He's actually helping my son learn songs he likes which helps keep my son motivated to learn more and practice more. I highly recommend this instructor for students of any age as he also does a great job with the younger kids too! Rock on Wound for Sound!

My 13-year-old son had his 1st experience playing saxophone with KC Rock Band & Guitar this summer and I cannot say enough positive things about it! Not only have I witnessed a great improvement in his skills, he practices because he WANTS to & he has thoroughly enjoyed this fun & creative experience! We can't wait to attend the Rock Band concert next week!

I have known Elizabeth for nearly 15 years. She has always strived to be the very best she can be, for herself and others. Elizabeth continues to find ways to enhance her abilities as a music professional. Elizabeth and I work closely together. I have observed her and her interactions with students, parents and colleagues. I have witnessed her students maturing in their music studies while having fun "playing" music. Elizabeth has an outstanding work / teaching ethic and has high standards for herself and those who work with her. I have, and will again, recommend Elizabeth as a private music teacher of harp, piano, guitar and music theory.

    About

My name is Logan and I have been playing guitar for over 10 years (I began in 5th grade). 95% of my knowledge and skill derive from self-taught methods, although I have taken group guitar lessons and one-on-one guitar lessons. With this experience I know what makes a good lesson and what doesn't, and on top of that I have taken a multitude of high-level music theory classes online so my knowledge goes further than just the guitar. I would prefer to work mostly with people new to the guitar or with little experience as I do have a more unique style of of playing and teaching.
