"Three of my children have studied under Mrs. Toews since 2004. She started with my older son in 8th grade, and the two younger children started when they were in 1st or 2nd grade. She stresses good habits and techniques early on, so her students have a good foundation to build on. She has high expectations for her students, and is very encouraging to help them meet them. She is strict about practicing, but she also rewards the students for practicing well. She has regular recitals, as well as group lessons, and she has her students participate in local competitions as they are able. My youngest is going into 11th grade. She has progressed extremely well under Deborah's training. It has been a joy to have my children in her studio. Her studio is in a separate room in her home, and she does not take calls or do other things during lessons. She has always been punctual. My husband and I feel we have made a very wise investment by having her for our children's piano teacher."

"I enjoy working with people, period. What gets me the most excited about my job is that I get to see people learn, and grow as individuals, and that is a high note in my book. I have been teaching privately since 2011 on Piano, Percussion/Drums, and Vocal Coaching, and doing live-sound work since 2016 in college and at church. My business philosophy is customer first. I do my best to make sure my clients are satisfied with what they are paying for."

"Now available are: Piano lessons (all ages) - These can potentially include instruction in composition, music theory, rhythm, math tutoring, voice lessons for kids, adult instruction on professional classical piano training, group lessons, and music history instruction. - Lessons that encourage kids to read. These lessons require the purchase of EYEQ software (runs about $180), which is a software program designed to enhance speed reading and brain activity, as well as laptop brought to each lesson with Microsoft Word installed. Last, these lessons require the purchase of at least 15 books per year, and the purchase of the first 15 books during the first lesson. The first lesson gets the kid started on one book for the first week by assigning a small amount of homework and spends the time teaching the kid organizational techniques that will get them reading 15 per year or more on their own by creating a folder under "My Documents" that is titled "Book Reviews" and creating a word document for each book they wish to read by the end of this year. We will spend the lesson going over the organization first and talking about Eye Q. If there is any time left, we will read together and make notes on the word document of their first book they wish to read. The point of reading with them is to teach them how to make good notes, so they aren't typing too much stuff and slowing down, and so that they are typing what they might use as an adult later on. - The reading lessons can be booked alongside organization lessons for all ages that involve the use of the "My Documents" folder. These lessons include supervision in clearing out this folder, re-organizing it, and setting it up so that this folder is geared to fit the student's long term goals in a more productive manner. - Math tutoring lessons can be booked although I will do not have time to study Math on my free time right now. I made A's in every math class I've ever taken, including university level courses and have gotten children ages three to seven to understand fully the concept behind simple multiplication and division by using music to teach math. These kids start by dividing 4 by 2, 8 by 4, etc. and multiplying 2 x 2, 4, 4 x 4, 4 x 1 by learning musical rhythms. This really provides an edge in math class for kindergarten students and can help young kids who are struggling in math."

"PERSONALIZATION! In PIANO lessons my goal is to teach students how to improvise music they love, not just to play notes, but to play the music. I have found that a majority of piano teachers do not include this wonderful skill in their lessons. ART lessons help students unlock keys of understanding how to draw what they see. The rest is learning how to handle materials."

"Next to playing piano and bass, I love teaching lessons on my instruments to others and have been doing so since I was 19 yrs old. I draw on 36 years of playing experience and 24 years of teaching experience as I offer lessons in my studio. I have successfully taught piano and bass students ranging in age from 4 to 82. After basics are feeling comfortable, I like to introduce improvisation to my students, something many teachers refuse to do because they don't feel comfortable with this particular area of music. Not to be confused with just "playing by ear", improvisation draws heavily upon music theory concepts; people who are skilled in improvisation are spontaneously composing music. This skill allows students to participate effectively in jazz, rock, country, blues, praise and worship, and other popular idioms. I do this while still keeping students involved with the so-called "classical" repertoire so that the reading of music never loses its importance. David James is a member of the International Society of Bassists, the American String Teacher's Association, the Kansas American String Teacher's Association and has served as president and treasurer of the Wichita Area Piano Teacher's League."
